On a different note, got a hypothetical question for you all.

I was in the pub last night with a few mates, one of whom is a big Chelsea fan. I was saying to him that I couldn't believe how Chelsea still worship him even though he's done the club's reputation no favours over the years. (That's accounting for the success he has also brought.)

He said that if City had an equivalent player, born and bred in Leicester, captain of the club in its most successful era of all time we wouldn't see any wrong in him either. I said that I honestly thought a lot of LCFC fans would detest such a player if he had committed the misdemeanours Terry had.

So am I right or wrong? Would LCFC fans follow a homegrown hero blindly even if he was a massive twat or would we care more about the relative damage done to the club?

He's right, all football fans are like it.

Walshy was a violent thug on the pitch and a drunken womaniser off it yet we adore him.

Savage?

I guess, yeah. Sav wasn't a vile **** off the pitch but I see what you mean, most people in the football world disliked him but when he plays for your team you love the fact he's such a nob.

Walshy broke someone's jaw with his elbow but was still adored by fans that slated/hated Morgan for a similar 'assault' on Hume.

Wiki - In 1986 he received an eleven match ban after smashing the jaw of striker David Geddis, whilst playing for Leicester against Shrewsbury

I think the Morgan incident was made worse by the fact nothing was done about it- he had no ban.

'm sure it helped but there was considerable condemnation of the actual severity of the foul and his history of fouling, Walshy still has the record for the most red cards I believe but you'd be hard pushed to find any LCFC fan questioning his reputation on that score.

I think we'd love him. World class imo
