davieG Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 Not that I boo them or the team but we're also feeding them.
StanSP Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 Results business? Our results haven't been drastically bad. Yes, Millwall was shocking from the players, but we're not languishing near relegation. We're TWO points off the play-offs. Ideal scenario would be that we are where West Ham and Southampton are, yes I agree. But it's not like we're suffering like Bristol City. It was wrong to sack Sven if it was based on one shoddy result. Should have been given til at least Christmas.
ramboacdc Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 if they get a manager in who gets us the prem ill be happy either way feel sorry for sven though. wouldnt boo the owners but it doesnt mean i have to agree with them.

I agree and I would of gave him until christmas, but most of the performances this season have been pretty poor, in fact they have since Feb, i cant imagine its easy to be tolerant when you have shelled out £15million to watch 3 home defeats to Reading, Bristol City and Millwall by the end of October.

unreachable Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 why do people keep using that?? you really think he was sacked because of one game??? Bert says Sven "lost the dressing room" so that seems a good enough reason to get sacked.
m00nie Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 Bert says Sven "lost the dressing room" so that seems a good enough reason to get sacked. not one dodgy result then is it
accessory Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 Bert says Sven "lost the dressing room" so that seems a good enough reason to get sacked. If that's true, then the players are guilty of biting the hand that fed them (and in many cases, VERY lucratively). Whoever comes will have to start kicking backsides. Maybe Sven played the nice guy too much with the wrong people.

Bert is respected as a reliable source so no doubt the truth will become apparent over the next few days. The players are professionals and could see that the formation and tactics were substandard.

The players are professionals and could see that the formation and tactics were substandard. I've now had the chance to see Bert's post and the context in which it appeared. It's a very plausible scenario. Some of those most likely to have been involved were the same ones begging Sven to give them shiny new contracts last season, bigging him up as one of the best bosses they'd ever worked with. And one in particular (who was also instrumental in forcing the board to sack Sousa) was widely noted on here and elsewhere to have had a particularly poor game on Saturday. It was those players in which he placed his faith and trust, who ultimately brought his demise. They're the ones who should be blamed for yesterday's developments, not so-called "fickle" fans or a "trigger-happy" board.

I was having exactly the same sort of conversation earlier today with Davie G who basically implied that I was talking nonsense... Basically, if Bert is to be believed (and who am I to argue with Bert!) it shows that Sven is simply too nice and that those pretending to be his mate were the same ones plotting behind his back... What's the phrase?... Keep your friends close and your enemies even closer? It also shows that the new bloke has gotta have the bollox to give these fookin prima donnas the kick up the arse they so need... Danns needs to get off his bastard mobile phone, wellens needs to stop shit stirring and Beckford needs to start playing like a man and not a pussy boy! If this story is right then I'm very angry towards the players... But not at all surprised. Pearson and especially MON would never have allowed this to happen..

What's also ironic is that Sven was well-known for his ruthlessness towards certain members of the Pearson squad, and yet it appears that some of those he retained were the most treacherous towards him. I wonder if there were elements of xenophobia among the squad, which meant some players were never truly comfortable playing for a boss from overseas, even someone with an illustrious record like Sven.

I think we're in danger of making some wild claims here. Like I said, it wouldn't be a shock if some players threw their toys out the pram. However we've only had a small bit of supposedly true info from Bert, which doesn't go into that much detail. I think the players need a kick up the arse for their performances alone, and especially the Millwall one. But we don't know much about this particular incident tbf, and as far as I can see there is nothing to suggest there is xenophobia involved.
Floridafox Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 I believe i heard we have only won 9 games out of the last 27 ? All pretty much agreed that we liked the guy but Sven's record of won 24 lost 17 with City is utterly underwhelming. Yes, 2 points off play-offs right now but the expectation that we'd be at least top 2 was valid. We'll quickly get over this, if the right man is appointed, Sven wasn't the right man for a Championship promotion campaign
flowwolf Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 Lets face it if we the fans could not understand what the fvck Svens tactics were all about i'm pretty sure the players were pissed off with it too. I am sure they did not come here to play diamond formations , they simply are not up to that standard of ability. Sven has gone lets not get onto the players back if i were in their position I would be glad he is out. :dunno:

If this story is right then I'm very angry towards the players... But not at all surprised. Pearson and especially MON would never have allowed this to happen.. No I didn't, don't exaggerate so you can make a point. I said I doubt it was the main cause for our inconsistent play as disruptive dressing room would affect every game. You talk so much rubbish in this post it shows that Sven is simply too nice and that those pretending to be his mate were the same ones plotting behind his back. - total conjecture yet you post it as if it's a fact It also shows that the new bloke has gotta have the bollox to give these fookin prima donnas the kick up the arse they so need - maybe Sven did this and that's what caused the 'rumoured' disruption again you're just guessing that he didn't and post it as true. wellens needs to stop shit stirring - more guess work or you know this for a fact. It's fine to criticise Sven and everyone has that right but people should stick to facts to prove their point not making things up or misinterpreting other peoples comments. As for Pearson and MON there were rumours of disaffection in both their camps - didn't Parker throw a cup of tea over MON?
Monk Posted 25 October 2011 Posted 25 October 2011 I'll with hold my judgment on the owners, I just hope they know what they're doing and haven't just made this as a rash decision. To my mind they must have someone lined up already.
