cc_star Posted 3 November 2011 Posted 3 November 2011 What charade? Finding the man (more importantly the right man) & negotiating would take a week or so What was clear, was that Sven had failed & things were sliding, they needed him out of the way to arrest that slide, as evidenced by the last 135mins (the 1st 45 at WestHam was a case of feeling sorry for ourselves or a hangover of the poor performances that players were getting used to giving & still being in the team the following game)
frankiesgrandad Posted 3 November 2011 Posted 3 November 2011 Since O'Neill left weve had some terrible managers Peter Taylor Gary Megson Paulo Sousa Craig Levein SGE :sweden: (only kidding) all wankers .. sorry sven .. know you've had loads of birds but even you pronably had a crafty one !
Ozwin Posted 3 November 2011 Posted 3 November 2011 As a club we are ****ing terrible at this manager lark. The next manager will be our 367th in the past 5 years.
Guest Col city fan Posted 4 November 2011 Posted 4 November 2011 I don't think it's that important how long this takes.. Stowell/Rudkin appear to have settled things down somewhat It's essential to take enough time to get the right man.. Whether that be a week or a month
BIEREDeLuxe Posted 4 November 2011 Posted 4 November 2011 I don't think it's that important how long this takes.. Stowell/Rudkin appear to have settled things down somewhat It's essential to take enough time to get the right man.. Whether that be a week or a month I'm still not convinced of this theory TBH. It's clear from past history that no-one truly knows how a manager is going to do until they are in the job, no matter how long it's taken the board to appoint him.
foxes2011 Posted 4 November 2011 Posted 4 November 2011 the thread name is just stupid if we were good at appointing managers we wouldnt have had as many as we have had since the end of 2007 think we have had Worthington,Allen,Megson,Holloway,Pearson,Sousa and Sven only one out of all of them did what i think was a really decent job and that was Pearson
thybluefox Posted 4 November 2011 Posted 4 November 2011 We can all guess that MON is the owners number 1 target, and we all know that he won't talk to a club unless the managers seat is vacant. Therefore Sven HAD to go to even think about getting MON in the door.
Guest Col city fan Posted 4 November 2011 Posted 4 November 2011 Yes, but Sven went 11 days ago..... What I'm saying is in any walk of life, Ill thought-out, hasty appointments can be fraught with problems. In Rudkin/Stowell we have two pretty solid fellas who can run team affairs at present. Therefore there is no need to be hasty.. I hope the owners take the time they need to get the man they really want.
foxes2011 Posted 4 November 2011 Posted 4 November 2011 if we dont get a manager soon i wouldnt be suprised if we gave Mike Stowell the job, he seems to be a really good motivator and already knows the players tbh i dont understand why he isnt even on the odds checker yet, spose it might be worth a flutter if his odds are really long, might win a few bob.
Bayfox Posted 4 November 2011 Posted 4 November 2011 Has Top got 32 names yet? I think I know his plan. Ha! Tops face on the ball and the faces of 32 'candidates' replacing the numbers would be hilarious. It would be and it feels like it at times but I think roulette is numbered 0-35 so knowing our look if we had 32 candidates it would land on 1 of the blank spaces.

DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 4 November 2011 Posted 4 November 2011 I think the fact they got rid of Sven (and I'm a supposed "Sven Hater") with clearly no idea who or what they bringing in shows them to be absolutely clueless. Never been clearer the clubs in the hands of a young man with no experience whatsoever of what he is doing. It's a good job his Daddy has a lot of cash. You're right, he is obviously very naive, and probably running round in circles, like a headless chicken.
leicesterseddon Posted 4 November 2011 Posted 4 November 2011 Come on Al, clubs have this done before they sack the manager these days. We arent exactly scrapping around either, we have a lot of money to pay someone. The excuses for this charade are running very thin. Absolutely agree. When SGE was sacked, I immediately presumed that it was because the Thais had had enough and had a replacement waiting in the wings. What we are now learning is that in fact, they hadn't got a definite replacement lined up at all. That in itself is not that much of a problem - what worries me is the current owners' competence in finding a replacement. We all know they are very successful business people, but they are essentially novices in the footballing world, plus they are operating in a foreign country, with a very distinctive football culture, with a very difficult language barrier not helping things.

blueredswed Posted 4 November 2011 Posted 4 November 2011 When Sven left I first would leave to! But then someone started a thread don´t leave.... and I sat down and think for myself. What did I knew about Leicester before Sven? Nothing... Today I knew every player on the pitch and also some good guys here :scarf: But this have nothing to do with managers or.... Yes it has! I still think if Sven have got the job untill the end of this season we have been promoted! If we not now with a new manager it would be a big dissapointed with this team! During February-March many teams got problems and don´t have big squads but we have!!! In SVEN I still trust whatever you´re think :scarf:
