leicesterisme Posted 8 January 2012 Posted 8 January 2012 Why is a game such as Peterborough v Sunderland on TV? Tamworth v Everton should have really been a certainty to be a televised game or at the very least the featured game on the highlights programme.
accessory Posted 8 January 2012 Posted 8 January 2012 Paul Scholes on the bench for Man Utd this afternoon. Come out of retirement for the rest of the season. Not sure if this is a good idea as a stop gap solution for them, or a sign they have no money to sign a much needed creative midfielder. Probably the latter. The Glazers need to start putting money back into the club instead of treating it like their own ATM. Otherwise United will be out of contention for the Premier and Champions Leagues for the next decade at least. If Scholes plays, he's more likely to get sent off (as he did last season in the semi-final) than set up or score a goal. Why is a game such as Peterborough v Sunderland on TV? Tamworth v Everton should have really been a certainty to be a televised game or at the very least the featured game on the highlights programme. Ermm, the game was at Goodison Park, so far less chance of an upset.
Leicester_Loyal Posted 8 January 2012 Posted 8 January 2012 1-0 Utd, Rooney header. Uniteds first attack, City have been all over them.
Guest ttfn Posted 8 January 2012 Posted 8 January 2012 Celebrations in the United end looked mental. Yet another example of Rooney delivering on the big stage. And Kompany off!
FoxyPV Posted 8 January 2012 Posted 8 January 2012 ****ing hell!! Utd under the cosh for the first ten minutes then score with their first attack. Kompany's just been sent off!!
Guest ttfn Posted 8 January 2012 Posted 8 January 2012 Townsend is so full of shit. Everyone knows that if you go in with 2 feet off the ground it's a red card. Yet he gets paid big money for expert analysis and fails to know the rules. Any challenge where you jump at the ball with 2 feet is using "excessive force".
Leicester_Loyal Posted 8 January 2012 Posted 8 January 2012 Never a red card, regardless of how he went in there, refs ruined this game by the looks of it.
Northants Fox 3 Posted 8 January 2012 Posted 8 January 2012 ****ing hell!! Utd under the cosh for the first ten minutes then score with their first attack. Kompany's just been sent off!! Never a red card for me. It looked to me like the ref based the red card on rooney's appeal, it was not a red card offence

BlueSi13 Posted 8 January 2012 Posted 8 January 2012 Foy had already given quite a few decisions to United. Born in St Helens. Make of that what you will. Never a straight red in a million years, totally ruined what could have been an utter classic.
VinceNoir Posted 8 January 2012 Posted 8 January 2012 A bit harsh that. Rules are rules though I guess.
foxfanazer Posted 8 January 2012 Posted 8 January 2012 It looked to me like the ref based the red card on rooney's appeal, it was not a red card offence Yeah it was Rooney that got him sent off, never a red. Never in a million years was it a red!
Guest ttfn Posted 8 January 2012 Posted 8 January 2012 his foot was not of the ground but agree about townsend It was off the ground. Even Townsend realised that. No different to the Mills one at Birmingham for me. I said that was a red card, and this one definitely is too, assuming that the laws of the game are being applied. Kompany wanted to let Nani know he was there early on. It backfired. Any challenge where you feel the need to jump into a tackle guarantees "excessive force". It's a shame because I can see United coasting now, and I was looking forward to a good game.

Don't know about that. City still have enough attacking quality to make this interesting.

No it wasn't, it was a slide along the ground and he won the ball perfectly with Nani not even giving a flying **** about the tackle. The game was playing on until Rooney got in Foy's ear and told him that it should be a red. Suspect.
Narborough_fox Posted 8 January 2012 Posted 8 January 2012 Was there any excessive force in that tackle? Yellow at most for me, Nani completely avoided it and feet were on the ground when the challenge were made.
Karljohn Posted 8 January 2012 Posted 8 January 2012 Awful decision, soon football will be completly non contact, a bit like Paul Gallagher plays.

I still think city can get something from it. It's still gotta be better than watching the soap omnibuses . VinceNoir Posted 8 January 2012 Posted 8 January 2012 City still on top 10 v 11, hope they smash them. Hate United.
