No it wasn't, it was a slide along the ground and he won the ball perfectly with Nani not even giving a flying **** about the tackle. The game was playing on until Rooney got in Foy's ear and told him that it should be a red.

Suspect.

You're telling me that Kompany was in control of that challenge?

Interesting that nobody else thinks it was a red. I thought it was a red as soon as I saw it, although I never thought Foy would give it, with it being so early in the game and the surface wet.

Jacqui Oatley tweeting that she agrees with the red card decision, not helping the female-credibility cause with regards to football...

I honestly think kompany was in control of it. Nani didn't even flinch. Some people will say red some, others will say great challenge

Yes. In perfect control. Hence why he took the ball, controlled it, and then passed it on without barely touching Nani.

Look at the reply, Foy wasn't even going to whistle until Rooney runs up screaming at him to show a red. Which he then proceeds to do.

Interesting opinion you have, point is Foy was not going to wave the red card, but then Rooney got in his face about it and out came the card

Agree with that. Not big or clever on Rooney's part.

I dunno, it's better than you might think.

I used to get miniature referee's kits for Christmas, and I also had a special referee's duvet cover.

And it says it all that even nani wasn't rolling around.

Yeah exactly, one of the biggest play actors in football and even he didn't think it was a foul key alone a red card

Great finish by Welbeck. Still feel the ref has ruined the game somewhat :/

Somewhat? United couldn't even get out of their own box until Rooney score their lucky counter attack, the red then happens about a minute later.

Like all big games, red cards ruin them.

Kolarov gives away a penalty. Pantilimon saves the penalty and Rooney scores the rebound.

****ing hell.

Kolarov is awful. Also I hate man u players, welbeck instead of celebrating the fact they had won a penalty went straight to the ref to try and get kolarov sent off. NO CLASS!
