ESPN: Birmingham vs Wolves, Saturday 7th Jan, 12.30pm Bristol Rovers vs Aston Villa, Saturday 7th Jan, 5.30pm Arsenal vs Leeds, Monday 9th Jan, 7.45pm Which means ITV get these 2: Man City vs Man Utd Peterborough vs Sunderland Not sure what times, but B. Rovers vs Villa and Peterborough vs Sunderland? Seriously? I have no idea what will attract viewers to watch these 2 matches... So glad they left the Tamworth Everton game alone and the Scouse police put Liverpool on Sunday. Leaves my Birthday in tact.
The Doctor Posted 6 January 2012 Posted 6 January 2012 Liverpool kick off the weekend with a 5-1 win v Oldham. Oldham had gone 1-0 up mind, stunner of a goal.
Narborough_fox Posted 6 January 2012 Posted 6 January 2012 Reported racist chanting from select Liverpool fans towards 20-year-old Oldham midfielder Tom Adeyemi reduce him to tears. Disgusting.
SemperEadem Posted 6 January 2012 Posted 6 January 2012 Quite a few city connections in tonight's game with both Dickov and Taggart then Spearing, Weslowski and Cisak.
StanSP Posted 6 January 2012 Posted 6 January 2012 Reported racist chanting from select Liverpool fans towards 20-year-old Oldham midfielder Tom Adeyemi reduce him to tears. Disgusting. Eye-witnesses have confirmed that racial slurs were said, and that the culprits were arrested.
ScouseFox Posted 6 January 2012 Posted 6 January 2012 Conflicting reports. Some say a couple were arrested for racial abuse after an Oldham player went mad in front of the kop. Another chap I just spoke to on the bus, who was there in the kop and spoke to a fewe stewards reckons nobody was arrested, a few were ejected for nothing racially connected. Dunno.
Narborough_fox Posted 6 January 2012 Posted 6 January 2012 Quote I picked up on in the BBC Live commentary of it was; 2140: Oldham midfielder Tom Adeyemi takes a throw-in and then turns to confront a spectator in the front few rows at Anfield. He is seriously unhappy here with something that was said to him and looks close to tears. The game is stopped for a few minutes and Steven Gerrard has a word with Adeyemi. Play is back under way now but we may hear more about that one. It must of been something bad to make him upset so it can't of just been calling him a naughty word. And I've just seen this on Twitter; Liverpool and Merseyside police are investigating alleged racist abuse of Oldham's Tom Adeyemi at Anfield tonight - http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11669/7415743/Reds-and-police-probe-incident

And I've just seen this on Twitter; BBC News this morning just said a visiting Oldham fan was being abused by Liverpool fans which upset Tom Adeyemi??

The Doctor Posted 7 January 2012 Posted 7 January 2012 I really hope neither of those potential upsets happen. The Crawley manager is an absolute weasel of a man, and I just plain despise franchise. Anyway - C'mon for Gillingham to beat Stoke.

Anyway - C'mon for Gillingham to beat Stoke. Totally agree, rare occasion where I want both underdogs to be bent over and brutally fisted. Franchise probably have the best chance unfortunately with QPR's attitude to the competition under Colin.
I am Rod Hull Posted 7 January 2012 Posted 7 January 2012 SSN said that Cov had sold 6,000 tickets for their home game v Soton, 1,500 to the visitors.

StanSP Posted 7 January 2012 Posted 7 January 2012 Macclesfield just gone 2-1 up against Bolton... 138 years in existence and never been in to the 4th round of the FA Cup!
MC Prussian Posted 7 January 2012 Posted 7 January 2012 MK Franchise lead against QPR and Notts County have just scored again against Doncaster!
MikeyT Posted 7 January 2012 Posted 7 January 2012 Albrighton scores for Villa. Bristol Rovers 0-1 Villa
Corky Posted 7 January 2012 Posted 7 January 2012 Listened to the Birmingham game on the train before the match, sounded so dull, predictably dull. Who chose that for television coverage? And both commentators mentioned they were surprised the ground wasn't full.
city1993 Posted 7 January 2012 Posted 7 January 2012 Sorry everyone, didn't know where else to place this post... http://footballspeak.com/post/2012/01/07/Reminiscing-The-FA-Cup.aspx Have a read of that and see if it tickles your fancy? If you scroll down to Match 4/5, you'll be able to reminisce on the time we beat Spurs in the Cup in 2006. Luton struck back through prolific goalscorer Steve Howard, If only he still was... Not a totally accurate recollection of the City-Tottenham game. The crowd, far from being "packed", was actually 19844, of which about 6k were from Spurs. Live TV coverage and our horrendous league form at the time kept many fans away.
Jimothy Posted 8 January 2012 Posted 8 January 2012 Paul Scholes on the bench for Man Utd this afternoon. Come out of retirement for the rest of the season. Not sure if this is a good idea as a stop gap solution for them, or a sign they have no money to sign a much needed creative midfielder.
