The Year Of The Fox Posted 12 November 2011 Posted 12 November 2011 Anyone else hear the camerman calling which shots to use during the minutes silence?
purpleronnie Posted 12 November 2011 Posted 12 November 2011 wales 2 nil up already. Seem a decent side now.

The Year Of The Fox Posted 12 November 2011 Author Posted 12 November 2011 Makes you wonder why england cant do the same. (can of worms) Wales are definitely better than England at the mo. (and I'm an England fan!) Playing more as a team, so many less egos in their squad. The Welsh fans are making more noise than the 70k odd happy clappers will do at Wembley. I go through stages of the extent I support England. When I was a kid I tended to dislike them (cheers dad) and always enjoyed the ROI games. Then I grew up a bit and supported them properly (going to the games etc) but since Wales at home the other month, I've given up. Especially on going to Wemnley to support them. Priks like John Terry, Rooney, A Cole, Sir Steven of Anfield have just really got me disliking the team at the moment. I'm glad Rooneys banned for three games. If we're only as good as one player (who's not as good as is made out) then we're not actually that good. I'd be much more excited at the prospect of combining Young Bent and Welbeck as a front three than having Rooney available.
martyn Posted 12 November 2011 Posted 12 November 2011 Wales have so much pace on the counter attack through Bellamy and Bale with a quality ball player like Ramsey able to feed them at will. This Wales side should be able to mount a decent challenge in the next batch of WC qualifiers.
Corky Posted 12 November 2011 Posted 12 November 2011 4-1 as King comes on in injury time. I waited 90 minutes to see that. Speed Out!
The Doctor Posted 12 November 2011 Posted 12 November 2011 After watching that, I look forward to WC qualifying, I need a new wooden spoon.
Bert Posted 12 November 2011 Posted 12 November 2011 If Wales don't calm down they might a) replace Scotkand as the laughing stock of the UK, and b) threaten third place in their next qualifying group....
Finnegan Posted 12 November 2011 Posted 12 November 2011 Why would we ever be the laughing stock of the UK? Nobody ever really expects much of us, I don't think a few wins against the likes of Norway and Bulgaria will really get the Welsh believing their own "hype" and we're getting a much tougher group next time out. I think the team under Speed vindicated my opinion, from the start of the campaign, that we had the strength to come second if we reached the heights we were capable of. Let's face it, this was a very week group, Montenegro weren't and still aren't a great side, Switzerland are inconsistent at best and Bulgaria are terrible. Serbia, Croatia and Belgium will be a much different kettle of fish. I'd be happy with fourth to be honest.

The Doctor Posted 13 November 2011 Posted 13 November 2011 Starting to believe the hype, bigging yourselves up and then ****ing up spectacularly - also known as the Ally MacLeod manoeuvre?
Finnegan Posted 13 November 2011 Posted 13 November 2011 Starting to believe the hype, bigging yourselves up and then ****ing up spectacularly - also known as the Ally MacLeod manoeuvre? The difference is you still think you're a footballing nation, we don't (and, unlike the Scots, never have been,) and a brief stint of heightened promise isn't going to change that.
Finnegan Posted 13 November 2011 Posted 13 November 2011 Wow, some people can't take a joke!! A joke needs to make some sort of sense to be funny, Robert.
Corky Posted 13 November 2011 Posted 13 November 2011 Wales won't be like Scotland. From what I've seen Wales play much better football and also have better players- Scotland don't have a Bellamy, Bale or Ramsey in their ranks. Fletcher is a fine player but won't dominate a game like the Welsh lads. Wales will finish higher in that qualifying group.
