chili_con_carne Posted 16 November 2011 Posted 16 November 2011 I know no one will really want to discuss this at the moment as the big news is nigel's return, but now Ireland have qualified for the Euro's next summer this lad NEEDS first team football this season. He Wouldn't want to miss out on it, can possibly see him going out on loan in January. But we don't know what nigel is going to do yet, he could be a starter with Bamba on the bench, who knows.

I think Nigel will prefer Tunchev more than he will SSL... He did after all sign Tunchev didnt he?

Jon the Hat Posted 16 November 2011 Posted 16 November 2011 I think we should play him if he is one of the best 2 centre backs fit and on form. Simple. Couldn't give a toss if that impacts his Euro 2012 chances or not. If he is not going to be in Pearsons plans I'm sure he will be shipped out soon enough.
Fox92 Posted 16 November 2011 Posted 16 November 2011 I think it will be Mills -- St. Ledger on Sunday against Palace. Obviously Bamba is out, and I imagine Tunchev isn't fit. I know he went out on loan to Crystal Palace, but I am pretty sure I read he picked up another knock. And if it is, it is St. Ledger's chance to impress - there you go; a new manager, get out there and perform. I do think St. Ledger is a good player. He has shown over the years he can form a quality partneship. Preston made the play offs a couple of times with him at the back. After all, he is an International player as well so he can't be too bad.

Preston also got relegated with SSL at the back last season
davieG Posted 16 November 2011 Posted 16 November 2011 Yeah Tunchev picked up a groin strain but he's back in training now so I believe. Preston also got relegated with SSL at the back last season We got relegated with Oakley, Howard and Fryatt
Simo86 Posted 16 November 2011 Posted 16 November 2011 We got relegated with Oakley, Howard and Fryatt Yeah we did, good one. He said that SSL played for Preston when they were in the play-offs. I just stated the flip-side.
Langston Posted 16 November 2011 Posted 16 November 2011 Trapattoni loves St.Ledger - he'll go regardless.
Fox92 Posted 16 November 2011 Posted 16 November 2011 He said that SSL played for Preston when they were in the play-offs. I just stated the flip-side. Yeah, he formed a solid partneship and many regarded him as one of the best defenders in the division. He is quite technical as well.
Christoph Posted 16 November 2011 Posted 16 November 2011 Plus I think Ireland have only conceded 2 goals in their last 11 games, with him at the back for the majority. Cant really knock a record like that especially as its international teams.
John Matrix Posted 16 November 2011 Posted 16 November 2011 He looks really good at International level. and distinctly average at Leicester level
bluearmyfox23 Posted 16 November 2011 Posted 16 November 2011 and distinctly average at Leicester level
bluearmyfox23 Posted 16 November 2011 Posted 16 November 2011 I personally think all the players that are slacking at the moment will start to perform now beacuse unlike sven. Pearson will put them straight and say perform or go. !
paddy Agyemang Posted 16 November 2011 Posted 16 November 2011 Hold on to SSL until after the Euros, let him have a good competition then put 3 million price tag on him
accessory Posted 16 November 2011 Posted 16 November 2011 Hopefully he'll start on Sunday Not if he plays like he did against Bristol City or Millwall. I'd rather see Tunchev start, providing he's fit.
