seenitall Posted 23 December 2011 Posted 23 December 2011 Too scared to tackle, has a good shot but rarely uses it and is shit at corners - good in League 1
SemperEadem Posted 23 December 2011 Posted 23 December 2011 Swear he never played for us in league 1 ?
Corky Posted 23 December 2011 Posted 23 December 2011 Too scared to tackle, has a good shot but rarely uses it and is shit at corners - good in League 1 First Waghorn, now Gallagher. Both players who weren't at the club in League One.

seenitall Posted 23 December 2011 Posted 23 December 2011 Didn't mean that - he would be good in league 1 where being a bit crap is acceptable - same as Waggy, Wellens etc
Fox92 Posted 24 December 2011 Posted 24 December 2011 Too scared to tackle, has a good shot but rarely uses it and is shit at corners - good in League 1 Even though he wasn't at the club when we were in League 1, I do agree with the post. Plus, he doesn't even try.

Plus, he doesn't even try. pull your head out of Wellens arse long enough to see Gallagher does tackle, he might be crap at it but he's putting in a lot of effort in defence
Fox92 Posted 24 December 2011 Posted 24 December 2011 pull your head out of Wellens arse long enough to see Gallagher does tackle, he might be crap at it but he's putting in a lot of effort in defence Did I mention Wellens? No. It is you who is obsessed. And if you are going on that statement, pull your head out of Gallagher. He isn't good enough.

He isn't good enough. most of your posts on here are praising Wellens and acting like he's some sort of messiah, in contrast I actually think Gallagher should be dropped on current form, but unlike Wellens, he at least has the excuse of not being a natural in the position he is played
Corky Posted 24 December 2011 Posted 24 December 2011 It's harsh to say he doesn't try, he does attempt to defend and help out the right-back. He may not always make an impact but I wouldn't say it's through a lack of effort.

I have also said Wellens (and all the midfield should be dropped). And nobody has an excuse, if you are not good enough, you are not good enough.
Jimmy Posted 24 December 2011 Posted 24 December 2011 no, they don't , but at least there is a reasonable explanation of why Gallagher would struggle on the wing, he isn't a winger, he is an old fashioned #10, played there he would be a creative force both for himself and others, but until Jan 1st we can't get any wingers.
Guest Col city fan Posted 24 December 2011 Posted 24 December 2011 I'm with Fox 92 on this Gally can be great.... But fookin awful as well... Oh, hold on wait.... I'm criticising the 'old guard'!! He's a luxury we cannot afford if we are going to mount an improbable push for the Prem Gally... Simply too lightweight and inconsistent for me.. I'd rather see Danns in the team (shock, horror I've favoured one of Svens signings)

ithuriel Posted 24 December 2011 Posted 24 December 2011 Prefer Gally over wellens tbh Me too, Gally is a much better player when he turn's up.

He's a luxury we cannot afford if we are going to mount an improbable push for the Prem Gally... Simply too lightweight and inconsistent for me.. I'd rather see Danns in the team (shock, horror I've favoured one of Svens signings) For me, this is the key word. Even last season I felt this about King also, with his tendency to be a match winner but then not turn up at all the following week. You can happily afford one of these in your midfield (as long as the remainder are reasonably solid and consistent week in week out), not several...
Fox92 Posted 24 December 2011 Posted 24 December 2011 Me too, Gally is a much better player when he turn's up. Both Wellens and Gallagher are gifted, but they are also inconsistant - Which is most probably one of the reasons why they both play for a Championship club, and not a Premier League club. On his day, Wellens can be one of the best midfielders in the division (many managers and pundits have stated this before) and when Gallagher turns up he can also be the creative type. However, we don't see it that much which is one of the reasons why I get frustrated. We do need a more solid and consistant midfield in my opinion, but this doesn't take away my opinion of certain players.
Kingylcfc Posted 24 December 2011 Posted 24 December 2011 can't say a bad word since he won me a TV....

I'd rather see Danns in the team (shock, horror I've favoured one of Svens signings) He is a luxury we can afford if the rest of the team are pulling their weight, if we have 10 grafters in the team we need a creative type who can score from 30 yards and whip a free kick into the top corner and play that killer pass, if you look at the stats he has as many assists to his name as Wellens and has scored a lot more goals, despite playing in fewer games. He is not a great tackler, but that is not his role, it is not his fault if he is asked to play that way, when I watch him play I always see him tracking back and winning some tackles. If we have a team that parks the bus in front of goal he is our best bet at breaking them down. The reason he looks bad, as do others, at the moment is that we are not performing as a team we are not balanced and are missing a bit of quality and leadsership in the middle.
