Good Afternoon Foxes

First and foremost i come in peace, with no intention to offend.

I'd also like to commend the travelling Leicester fans who filled out the away end at the KC; all of whom were in fine voice and a credit to your club.

Due to our recent connections of previous managers and ilk of player, i have struck a wierd affinity with your club and have taken great interest with your views of the team and oppostion players, and have always thought that this messageboard in particular were full of intellectual, fair and balanced posters, in contrast to the perpetual moronic trolls that infiltrate any healthy discussion into a juvenile slagging match.

Initially, i was fearful of this match on paper, prior to the management merry-go-round. I thought that Leicester could and and should be storming the league table with the influx of quality additions that have entered the King Power Stadium. Unfortunately due to the board losing patience with Mr. Ikea, they returned for Nigel, at our expense. Previously i read this board at the beginning of last season, once Nigel entered into talks with Adam and the Allams, and it was evident how much the Fox faithful rated the guy. If truth be told, if it wasn't for the Milan debacle, i presume he would still be continuing the solid and blossoming foundations he had laid at the club before his departure. I agree that no ambitious individual would turn down the chance to return to their previous emploment of work, with a fresh environment, a new board, current/ improved staff and richer finances at their disposal, it was more the denial and quotes post West Ham, when Nigel insinuated that he was staying, deflecting answers with the words 'irritated by the rumours'. Therefore this exemplified much of the despondency and hurt which evoked such 'cursing and boo-ing/ banter' upon his return yesterday. Personally i thought Nigel was a fantastic manager and coach, Walsh seemed to have a grand scope of contacts and ability to spot a talent, Harper, Adebola, Solano aside and i felt considering the Premier League aftermath, and financial ruin that lay ahead of us, no other manager could have steadied the ship better then Pearson and his backroom team, therefore i am eternally grateful that the man safeguarded our future, and laid the blueprint for a new one. It's just a pity that his legacy with Hull was a short one, though i wish you all the very best under his returning guidance and fruitful tenure.

In terms of the game yesterday, it was a penalty. Whether or not it was intentional or not, it was a penalty, I thought it was initally a fantastic challenge from Mills, although his adrenaline or carelessness jeopardised any comeback from then onwards with the flick of his foot. I'm surprised that he hasn't suceeded better at Leicester, i thought he was pheonomanal at Doncaster and a marquee talent at Reading. £5 million is a ridiculous sum to pay, although that only represents the value the club rate their prized asset at, not necessarily his pitch value. If so, Michael Turners lowly sum to Sunderland was an utter travesty. It was pleasing to see Lee Peltier operating successfully in the full back berth. Hull signed him on loan from Liverpool a few seasons ago, and looked steady but unspectacular as a central midfielder, although some alternate viewpoints suggested a youthful looking Junior Lewis *shudder*. I thought we controlled the game well, however lacked any innovative invention in the final third. As daft as it sounds, playing against 10 men is often more difficult then 11, as Leicester proved yesterday. The team was resolute and i thought Kasper and Konchesky were a credit to your side, and were unlucky to be undone by a moment of brilliance from Koren.

In relation to your former charges, Fryatt looks a rejuvenated figure upfront. He started very brightly when he signed in January, but looked a forlorn figure at the start of this season. Fortunately Barmby has managed to adopt a system which appears beneficial for him, McLean, Stewart, Brady and Koren to operate. On the other hand i still have reservations over Hobbs. I really want him to succeed at the club, however his lack of pace is alarming. His youth and inherited captaincy is a bonus, so their is enough time for him to fulfill his potential, however Chester appears to be covering him significantly as double decker bus's appear to turn quicker. We havent seen the best of Waghorn either due to a persistent hamstring injury. Although i would imagine Nigel will be utilising him with the exceptional Nugent as a pairing in January.

I appreciate your time if any one has bothered to remain attentive whilst reading this, it has acted as a wonderful deterrent from concentrating on my Uni work. I hope to periodically contribute to the board if the situation arises.

All the very best for the rest of the season, exempt March 24th 2012.

Good read, well said. I was one of the ones who travelled to Hull, and decided to listen to BBC Radio Humber on the way back. I was surprised by the number of fans who labelled Pearson as 'Judas', given what he did for your club. I can understand being unhappy at him coming back to Leicester, but Judas? Really?

Anyway, we'll have Cameron Stewart in January please :)

Good post and I don't think i can argue with any of it.

You must be well pleased with Fryatt..although I'm surprised at his goal tally, to be fair.

I McLean you have a striker I've always thought looks a handful and in Cameron Stewart a prodigious young talent.

Good luck to you for the rest of the season, although I fully expect to be finishing above you come the end...

The Championship is such a tight and difficult division, it is hard to fathom who will finish where. If the rumoured transfer kitty of £8 million is available to Nigel, it will be interesting to see who he pursues. He was always operating with smaller figures pre-Allam takeover, therefore with casting his net wider it is potentially a very astute career move for both manager and club. Then again, the players at your disposal should be pissing the league; if Nigel can instill the team ethics, and consistency of high flyers Southampton, there is no fear factor in this league.

Prefably not any of our players will be on the managers January sales list.

Ex- Tiger and Manager Warren Joyce struck a fruitful supply line of talented United youngsters, not deemed to play in the top flight on current ability, but through hard work and endeavour under the stewardship of a patient management team, have the inherent ability to climb their way back up to the pinnacle of Premiership football, ala Stewart, Dudgeon and Evans.

Cameron Stewart has returned from 9 months on the sidelines with a cruciate knee injury. His first return to the side was his goal scoring exploit against Derby, the match post- Nigels departure. He is a maverick and potential game changer in any league. He has the 'pace' to infiltrate any defence and seems to have returned a better all round player, adopting a finished article to his inventive runs, a snip at 300k by the previous regime. Robbie Brady is the alternate wing assailant to compliment the side, his loan expires in January, so there is a genuine fear he may be loaned out to Leicester if pursued by Pearson, or to a lower league Premier side, ala Cleverley to Wigan last season. McLean has won over the fans this past month, he won't hit double figures unless in the league below, arguably your stance on Fryatt, but he is acting as an effective terrier, who will run/ harrass the oppostion all day long, and provide the space for Fryatt to tap in. If centre back is a worry for your team, hands off James Chester. Inevitably he will be on the Fox radar; an incredible talent, not the tallest, but has the elegance and positional sense to go about his business effectively. Furthermore if Daniel Ayala is out of the Norwich side, he may be a target to challenge the likes of Mills, and the man mountain Bamba. He came close to joining us for a bargain 800k deal, but was snared away by the attractive lure of Lamberts lower league gem plucking.

I'd take Robert Koren - at least he wouldn't be able to play against us again.

A fair post that was interesting to read. Agree with you on the penalty especially that the actual trip feasibly could have been unintentional - only Mills can say for certain.

Anyway, we'll have Cameron Stewart in January please :)

Really? I think he is pretty greedy, and moans a lot.

Mind you, I'd prefer him is over Dyer and Gallagher though.

Going on that performance anyway. Got a lot of pace, good close control, regularly beat Peltier with tricks, could go inside or outside, is still only 20 and perhaps most importantly, he consistently delivered good balls into the box. What's not to like?

Whilst we're still in the Championship, I don't think we're going to be able to attract much better wingers than him.

Good post.

For all the digs at Nigel's style from your fans at the ground I didn't think you were that entertaining. It was a great winner.

You lot seem happy with Barmby, I'm happy with Pearson so we all should be content.

Why i'd like the idea of trying to sign Stewart, i'd imagine the Hull board will flat out reject any approach from us for any of there players come Januray.

They don't like us. <_<

As it stands, Koren is out of contract at the end of the season. I envisage you signing bigger and better, but he remains a coup at the age of 31, with the impact he has on late in matches. Nigel utilised him more on the wing, with the scope of cutting inside, although this left either fullback exposed and ultimately the team losing its shape. The introduction of the United wingers has given Robbie the chance to pull the strings and dominate further upfield in a central roaming position.

On the subject of Barmby, i'd much rather have Pearson in charge. Nevertheless the romantic ideology of a local lad playing for his hometown club, and managing the side, will definitely extend his honeymoon period with the fans for a while yet. His title 'caretaker manager' is more of a safety net in case results don't go our way, and he decides to step down from his managerial duties with his reputation in still in tack. The sceptic in me suggests that this is a cheap appointment and cheap PR stunt to appease fans who buy into that romanticism.

According to a fitness trainer at the club, despite Nigel bringing Shakespeare and Walsh back to Leicester with him, he left an influx of sports scientists, pro-zone experts and other jobsworths behind. So Uncle Assem sacked them all....

Moreover i'm surprised Richie Wellens has endured sections of criticism from your fans, he was a starlet for me on Championship Manager 01/02. Do you think he will stick with his tried and tested ilk of Dyer, King, Wellens, and Gallagher over the likes of Sven's captures? I know he was very keen on Danns coming to Hull, prior to signing for your club.

Waghorn and Wellens for Koren and Stewart, we'll also give you a million. Deal?

HonestHull, what did you make of Waghorn?!

I don't know if he played a lot but it sounds as though he won't be appearing for Hull again because of his injury. I'm not sure what the normal recovery period would be for such an injury but I wouldn't be surprised if, genuinely or otherwise, this one will keep him out of action until his loan expires anyway.

I'm actually surprised Hull are this low (yes, as low as 8th), their squad is absolutely full of top youngsters, that squad in 5 years would be Premier League.

Hull fans should be very grateful to NP for stabilizing their club and getting rid of Bullard who is causing problems at Ipswich

Bullard and Jewell Clash Claim

Tue 06th Dec 2011 11:12

Midfielder Jimmy Bullard and boss Paul Jewell are reported to have fallen out over the player’s refusal to relocate from his home in Cobham, Surrey to a new base nearer to Town. Bullard was dropped to the bench for Saturday’s game against Watford after a series of under-par performances.

The commitment of Bullard - who is said to be the club’s highest earner on a wage of £18,000-a-week – is also claimed to have been questioned by team-mates, an “Ipswich insider” telling the Daily Mail: “Jimmy has been bragging about his wages and some of the players are unimpressed by this, as well as his attitude when he larks about in training.

“The gaffer has told him he is unlikely to play if he doesn’t make the effort to move into the area.”

Sadly Waghorn has had a stop start introduction to his loan career with us. There is no doubting his talent, and we were thrilled with his exploits for the England U21's, as must you have been. However he has only managed 5 or so appearances and mustered a solitary goal. In his defence, he didn't have much service, and with the ball to feet, he was strong, direct and clever. I think he will have a terrifc future, but his hamstring has taken an awful long time to clear up. As you say, a time scale can't be placed on those type of injuries, but i envisage he may get a few more games once fit with us, before Nigel integrates a resurgent 'Waggy' back into the side, or the bench, pending on who you sign.

I don't think you have a chance in signing Stewart to be honest, although money talks in this division. If the money was too good to refuse, then he'll be gone, like any other player or Manager (*sigh*). He has only just returned from injury, but itssharing a house with his former united team mates and current city employess i.e, Evans, Chester, Brady, Dudgeon, so i think he is settled for the moment. Brady on the other hand, is a more realistic capture. Flashes of brilliance, but increasingly frustrating with his final ball/ selfish decision making. He is a genuine talent for the future, and with his loan expiring in January, he would slot into the left/ right wing berth for Leicester with ease and knowledge of the division/ opposition.

Without sounding overly indulgent with young luxuries, Cairney is another one. He was thrown into the latter stages of our ill fated second season in the Premier League, and was a bright light, in a very dark period for the club. Liverpool and the like were supposedly watching him, after his MOM displays, but no offer was forthcoming. Nigel seemed relectant to play him in the Championship last season, he looked out of his depth inthe second tier, with less time on the ball, and lacking a change of pace. This season he has taken the gauntlet and adapted well, rarely gives the ball away, passes effectively and looking every part a future cultured midfielder. It has taken god knows how many years to unearth one!!

Our Cup jinx has drawn us with Ipswich at home in January. So whatever reaction Nigel recieved, Bullard will endure a louder, and far more justified scale of abuse. The quote you found completely exemplifies the idiocy and sensationalist description of a modern day footballer. Although it was the fault of the previous regime for handing the crocked crook a ludicrous/ lucrative contract, his behaviour was disgusting. I feel sorry for Ipswich and any other club, that associates themselves with that waster. Nigel was deeply upset that Bullards departure coincided with that of Joe Corrigan, during an altercation and breach of discipline in Slovenia, pre season. The Greasy haired Thunderbird faced cretin, is nothing more then a coke snorting, vile sex pest, who must have been decked by several Hull FC/ KR players livid with the way he conducted himself around the City on a night out whilst injured. Don't be fooled by the Soccer AM love-in, he deserves a Matt Mills double footer next time he goes for a hat trick of red cards.

On a lighter note, i'd be interested to here your views on Fryatt and Hobbs since their departure?
