Dan Posted 13 December 2011 Posted 13 December 2011 Got to go; Moreno - There's simply no future for him here, he's about 8th choice and has been for ages, he's not actually that bad a player IMO but just hasn't worked for him at all here. Ball - He's been disappointing, we have 4 left backs, he's done nothing for me to prove he's any better than Kennedy or Berner, and I guarantee he's on bigger money than both. Oakley - Out of his depth at this level now, wouldn't rule out a permanent move to Exeter. Kennedy - Has he actually joined Peterborough permanently? He might as well. Possibilities to leave; Pantsil - I wouldn't get rid personally, I know he's on big money for someone as a back-up in this league, but that's Sven for you. He's our only other right back bar Peltier, so it'd be a risk getting rid, I'd do it if we can get someone in cheaper though. Moussa - Not a bad player but he's another who simply isn't getting a chance for us and he might as well help himself and leave. Howard - I'm with most, it'll be a shame and I do like him but we really, really can do better. Vassell - Doubt he'll play for us again anyway, too average for me, doesn't offer enough. Schlupp - On loan again sadly, can see someone near the top of L1 snapping him up. St Ledger - I personally wouldn't get rid, I don't think he's particularly great but he's a good back-up, then again I prefer Tunchev. Tunchev - Just if he never becomes fit again. It's almost like he's actually cursed to not play for us. Berner - I'd keep him and get him in a coaching role, seems a superb character to have around the place. Wellens - I wouldn't get rid, I just think he needs a break from first team football as he's been largely disappointing lately. King - Crazy suggestion. Unless we get made a very big offer, why do it? Pearson got brilliant form from him before, I'm pretty sure he can do it again, he'll only improve and his attitude is top notch. Gallagher - If we're offered good money I'd take it. People claim Wellens is a Hollywood player but Gally takes it to a new level. I do like Gallagher though, seems a good character to have around the place and he'll be a great entertainment on his day, I just think he's too poor, too often. Wouldn't take any less than £1.5mil though. Beckford - I wouldn't do it. You just know full-well he'd leave and score for fun at whoever he joins, no matter who it is. It's the Leicester way. He's frustrating but you don't get 31 goals in any season from being shite. Once the service improves, I feel he will. I mean, how many times has he ran onto the ball 1 on 1? I literally can't remember it happening. Johnson/Fernandes - Up to them. Johnson I'd arguably get rid of, I mean there's a reason he isn't walking into this team. Fernandes still has a point to prove but I don't feel he's got the hunger now Sven's gone. Abe - I wouldn't be surprised to see him go, it'd be a shame really. Good player, largely un-noticed for his role, but a little lightweight and isn't this midfield dynamo we all thought, wouldn't particularly want to see him leave but I wouldn't rule it out, seeing as he's not featured one bit under NP. Think I've covered every name mentioned.
bmt Posted 13 December 2011 Posted 13 December 2011 I'd get rid of Moussa, Howard, and although it pains me to say it, Johnson, Tunch, Abe and Schlupp(loan). Moussa is not good enough to get a look in. Howard is past it and a poor plan B. Johnson isn't getting in the squad (can't understand why, used to love watching him play for man city, and although a risk surely we need to start taking risks to reap rewards- I would prefer King, Fernandes and Johnson before Wellens, but I guess we just have way too many CMs). Tunchev could be quality, but if we aren't going to give him a run I'd either send him out for a bit longer on loan or sell abroad. I love Abe, but he isn't getting a look in anymore. Schlupp needs to be playing games, I'd send him out for a month or two to get a few under his belt then recall him. Personally I'd keep Ball as cover for the season incase Konchesky gets injured, and I'd keep Pantsil because he would be quality cover should Pelts get injured.

Granted he hasnt been at the races the last few weeks but i would be over the moon if we had the likes of Wellens on standby in January. I do think we need a new CM with quicker thinking but that doesnt mean get rid of one of the few players that has been outstanding over recent years and just happens to have hit a bit of a rough patch in form. Oakley, Moussa & Howard should go (poss moussa on loan) but bear in mind they NEED to be replaced if we want a good finish to the season as we are getting to the point now where squad depth is VERY important.

And people saying get rid of Pantsil are you serious??? He is quality back up and would be first choice for the majority of clubs in the Championship. We are not a top 4 premier league club, get off your high horses

We should be shipping a few out in January, Moreno Johnson Howard Oakley Gallagher and thats only a few. Whether anybody wants to sign them is a different story, but if we want to be considered for promotion, we've got to be getting rid of players like work-shy Gallagher and an ageing Howard.
