There's only one Izzet Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 First of all we let Sven go. Secondly, we installed Pearson. Thirdly, we let Fernandes go. We should not start King & Wellens in the middle because neither of them are fast enough on or off the ball in order to create chances (hence why Beckford doesn't ever seem to get any opportunities, no wonder he looks disinterested all the time playing with them two). We need a defensive midfielder to ensure cover for Konchesky and Peltier when they push forward which will not allow the opposition to succeed on the counter attack. We need two new central midfielders (None of which will be better than Johnson, who Pearson seems to not rate, just like he did not rate Gelson who has recently signed for Udinese, 3rd in Serie A). One who can defend and one who can create. A winger would be useful but with two midfielders who can play at the championship level in the team Dyer and Gallagher should produce. Let me know your thoughts, TC.
Corky Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 "Fernandes wanted to go as soon as Sven did". Babylon- to save him the job of replying
5waller5 Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 What a rubbish thread .... the answers don't even match the question!! "Fernandes wanted to go as soon as Sven did". Babylon- to save him the job of replying Yeah but if NP played him he'd have stayed .... to save a few from replying!!!!
There's only one Izzet Posted 15 January 2012 Author Posted 15 January 2012 What question? It's a title.
Ultra Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 Sven couldn't get to grips with the demands of this league, and didn't show any signs of ever being able to do so. He also lost the dressing room.
5waller5 Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 What question? It's a title. Am I not seeing what everyone else is ..... It's a poll so is surely a question? What's gone wrong this season? Is AK playing well? y/n Are we going to be promoted? y/n I don't get it.
cc_star Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 What went wrong... was pre-season Sven signed almost 2 players for each position to play 4-3-3 (signing Johnson, Danns & Fernandes to compete with Wellens, King & Abe) and 4-3-3 flopped massively, there was no other options other than a patched together diamond which worked for a few games before it too fell apart. Until we can get these players out, so we can get some in... there is no other option other than playing a failing system with players who need replacing & as that failed we need to replace the replacements too Shambles
There's only one Izzet Posted 15 January 2012 Author Posted 15 January 2012 It's not a question. It's a statement. How is that hard to understand. The poll is for the two questions stated.

There is a way of getting out of it though, we can sign certain players in this window and change to a system that suits are best players. I know Beckford is frustrating to watch but if we get the best out of him, we will dominate teams.

Head Honcho Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 This comment in the merc sums it up for me: “After another atrocious home performance by Leicester City FC where does the Club go from here. Sliding yet further down the table into what is becoming a season of mediocrity and the spectre of worse after so much was promised I am beginning to wonder just what the true ambitions are of the owners, manager and players. I know folk will say Pearson has inherited this squad and that is fact but he has gained a far more creditable team than when he left. There is, without doubt, some very talented players on the books but for some reason or other they are not performing to anywhere near their potential. To my mind the captaincy should be given with immediate effect to Schmiechel. He is the one player, above all, who urges the team on throughout the 90 minutes. Mills, on the other hand is not leading by example, does not rally the team and is not worth £5.5M Yesterday, playing one up front against at home against a team below us in the table didn't make sense. At home we should start on the offensive, take the game to our opponents and strike fear into them. So many teams come here thinking that taking a point of us is easy and 3 a distinct possibility. We have failed to win two back-to-back league games this season and the Club is no further forward since changing managership last October, so much for our ambitious plans for promotion this season. Too many players need a kick up the backside and if they don't want to play for this Club, as some seem to portray, ship 'em out!! The Club cannot afford to carry passengers and the time has come for Pearson to ask the question to all of them before it's too late.”
Leicesterpool Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 Even though Sven had one or two bad results, I still felt come May we'd be in the premier league. Also in my opinion one or two players don't like Pearson and won't play for him.

noonston Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 for me i think Sven just bought poorly. We got too many players in the same position now width
5waller5 Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 How is it so hard to understand? I am saying 'what has gone wrong' as a statement, not as a question. If it's a statement why follow it with a poll?? If it's a statement then you are about to tell us what's gone wrong. that makes even less sense.

5waller5 Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 It's a statement which is the title. Followed by a poll. Struggling? YES Struggling like mad. You are making a statement that these are the things that have gone wrong this season .... King isn't himself ..... but then ask whetther we'll get promotion. I'm being pedantic on purpose .... but it's a really dumb thread. A poll that starts with a statement not a question ... and even then the statement has feck all to do with the questions therein.
fleckneymike Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 "What has gone wrong so far this season..." isn't a statement, it's barely a sentence. The use of elipsis just serves to make things even more confusing. "What has gone wrong so far this season..." could possibly be a statement if the two 'questions' which followed fitted into the statement however "What has gone wrong this season has Andy King shown his true colours this season?" makes no grammatical sense as a question let alone a statement.
eaststandtom Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 not good enough.simple. sven signed guys who are not upto and tinkered with the tem too much. this was evident back in march when we signed mee, bruma, ricardo, yakubu etc. pointless tinkering when we were, by then, flying. sven said we needed ''3 or 4'' editions to the squad at the end of last season yet the madness carried on into this season with the signing of 3 additional centre midfielders to the 5 we already had. now, i am a fan of david nugent but i personally thought we should and could have got better. am assuming he is on big money as is beckford but maybe they will come good, consistnetly when the midfield is sorted out. i believe wellens is past his best and that andy king has suffered as a result of the teams poor performances this season. granted he needs to step upto the mark himself and accept responsibility. however, none of the midfield have been consistent. i'd rather players of lesser ability but who performed to their maximum on a more regular basis. for me, to go would be gallagher, wellens, oakley and johnson from the midfield leaving king, abe and danns. we would still need a top drawer midfielder who ideally should play with kings allowing him to play his natural game. also, a naturally right sided player rather than gallagher. two wide men cutting balls back from the by line for beckford and nugent to run into facing the goal might present more opportunities for them both
seenitall Posted 15 January 2012 Posted 15 January 2012 This suggests that Andy King is somehow responsible for our league position? He is about 3% of the problem, and no we a not going to get promotion unless Nige gets the wind in his sails and we get to the play offs. They are still in reach and we are in exactly the same position points wise as last year with a better keeper and a more quality players. He can do it, FFS, we won our last league game before Barnsley!!!!!!!!!!
Bangkok Mick Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 Am I not seeing what everyone else is ..... It's a poll so is surely a question? What's gone wrong this season? Is AK playing well? y/n Are we going to be promoted? y/n I don't get it. I`m with you. This thread doesn`t make any sense at all. If the thread was "What`s gone wrong?" that is a perfectly reasnoble question to ask. But leave it at that for others to post what they think has gone wrong. The poll doesn`t relate to the question. Whether AK is playing well or not would be one small reason things have gone wrong. And having a poll about getting promoted is totally separate to the question. bizzare
Captain... Posted 16 January 2012 Posted 16 January 2012 Not only is thread confusing it is also pointless, there are already plenty of threads about what has gone wrong, what is going wrong, Andy King, and Promotion. For what it's worth the seeds of this season were sown by Mandaric allowing Pearson to leave 18 months ago, we had a solid team playing above themselves, that slowly got dismantled by Sousa and then Sven and turned in to a bunch of lazy, uncommited, passionless, inconsistent turds. The fact that those that were signed have gone the same way as those that were here before suggests there is something wrong within the club/dressing room.
