Putting aside the circumstances of his leaving, we have 2 (good) left backs already at the club - Konchelsky & Kennedy. Even if Kennedy were to be sold (which I hope wouldn't happen - I really rate the guy and he looks so promising, if he ever gets a chance), Mattock wouldn't come as second choice. He'll go (back) to Pompey (if they're still in existence and can afford to take him !), or another Championship club.

Rangers striker Nikica Jelavic has revealed that he would be interested in a move to the Boleyn Ground. Despite his father stating recently that a move to east London was not on the Croatian international's radar, Jelavic told the Scottish Sun that he would be delighted to join the Hammers - who he views as certs for promotion this season. "West Ham are a great club," he said. "They are not a second division club — they are a famous Premier League club who happened to be relegated and will return to the Premier League next season. "It would be nice to play there if the opportunity comes up and the club agrees." But despite West Ham's interest, Jelavic admitted that he would be just as happy to remain in Scotland with his current club. "West Ham are a big club, but I'm also playing at a big club and it wouldn't bother me in the least if I had to stay here," he added. "The manager appreciates me and likes me, but I know the club are in a difficult financial situation and if they decided they needed to sell me, I would accept it.

One little tweet about absolutely nothing and he's suddenly leaving and he now has hudderfield fans telling him to go back there. Like most other rumours this will now pass around different boards, and do the rounds on twitter. Some pleb will ask Stringer and he'll say that he's looking into it. Then it will get stolen by some rag that needs to fill space and get printed. Another self perpetuating rumour that people won't have the brain power to see through. wonder what strange false rumour we could start.. see how far we can get one going ...

Well I completely made up a player, said he was african but eligable for belgium and that we were interested in buying him for £1.3m.... It got printed in the People newspaper after it swept around a few boards and football rumours.
