Representing your country is the greatest honour isn't it? Bamba isn't NP's type of defender at all. Players come and go to suit new managers and that may just be what is happening here with Pearson. He is trying to mould his own team...

I'm saying if we end up with shit loads of CB's, then fair enough the critisism is warranted. If we ship them all out and sign a brand new defence, they don't exactly need to do a great deal to beat the achievements of the current lot!

I tend to agree and if it's one area that Nigel always get's right it's central defence. I hope if he is bringing 2 new CB's in that he get's rid of 2 straight the way, no fooking about. Disharmony in the squad has been a factor for us this season, I reckon and with players leaving and being unavailable of late I think it's led to a happier squad and we've got a few wins together, I don't want that being disrupted again. If he wants SSL out or even Mills, then fook them off today or tomorrow. Bang, off you go you twaats.

This however is beyond pointless should we go after him. Stopping the goals has not been the problem this season, a lack of width and genuine creativity has.

This just shows how attractive we are as a club now with Pearson at the helm. No I was sat here saying I don't have a fecking clue about him, i'm neither a scout or a Hearts season ticket holder. If you are shopping for free transfers, which is what he made up most of our squad from, you are going to get some that aren't amazing. We might have been "attractive" under Sven (ie offering stupid money). But where did that get us? Lower than a team full of people like Robbie Neilson that Pearson created last time. Amazing that you slag off players who got us higher than the current crop, whom you seem to have a love affair with.
inckley fox Posted 30 January 2012 Posted 30 January 2012 Some of you really are stupid. You're angry about buying a player we haven't bought and not having sold two players we haven't sold. We should look at the squad tomorrow night before talking about how the horrible Mr Pearson has created an imbalance within it. Yet again it seems the Sven brigade are up to their usual tricks, ie, 'Sven doing x was fine, but you lot criticised it so that means when Pearson does it, it's wrong too'. a logic which, quite frankly, the rest of the world grew out of in infant school. This time round it's the 'buying lots of players in one position' argument. Obviously some of you have forgotten how many centre forwards we collected under O'Neill (Fenton, Gunnlaugsson, Cottee, Heskey and Marshall were all at the club - and Elliot was banging in goals up front too - when we signed Stan Collymore). I'd like to add that we've lost Ball and Tunchev has shown he isn't up to scratch. If we sign two players and - as some are predicting - Bamba and Berner leave, we'd actually be two defenders down on the squad Sven left behind. So let's not get too emotional just yet.
Jay Posted 30 January 2012 Posted 30 January 2012 Signing another CB is just stupid even if one of them was to leave it's crazy when we have more problems in more positions and seriously Mills and SSL are good enough even if Bamba goes with one more to step in. However maybe SSN have cocked up? running a story on their website about a fee for Marshall being agreed and discussing terms yet not mentioning that, but collins instead maybe they have it mixed up afterall teams outside the Premier League don't really matter

Jagdinho Posted 30 January 2012 Posted 30 January 2012 People over think way too much! Just because we may bid for 3 or 4 CB's doesn't mean they will all get accepted! We have 2 days of transfers left, managers won't piss about, they will have short lists and and bid for a few players, then from the players whos bids have been accepted only then will the managers progress the negotiations. I do this a lot on football manager, bid for 3 or 4 players then carry on the negotiations with the best player out of the ones who's bids have been accepted.
