Hitesh Posted 3 July 2005 Posted 3 July 2005 Not bad...anyone know when we will here official confirmation? Obviously not on the OS because they wont have it until next pre-season but maybe on BBC/Sky?
Lester LXXIV Posted 3 July 2005 Posted 3 July 2005 I've searched the net but cannot find any confirmation! Frustratin!!
Molson Canadian Posted 3 July 2005 Posted 3 July 2005 Not bad...anyone know when we will here official confirmation? Obviously not on the OS because they wont have it until next pre-season but maybe on BBC/Sky? 131300 you are right about the OS they are useless when it comes to confirming or getting news out about the club.
Louise Posted 3 July 2005 Posted 3 July 2005 Things are almost never posted on the OS on Sundays, even when the season is in progress. I think Mr Sanders has the day off. I'm not sure its entirely his fault this time anyway as the club hasn't announced the signing (signings usually get announced first on RL anyway...) and probably won't until everyone is back working against tomorrow.
Matt Posted 3 July 2005 Posted 3 July 2005 no offical word from the club on this signing yet then ? 131294 As Louise said if it is true and we ares signing him (And perhaps other players - Well we can dream) it'll be tommorrow at the earliest if anything is going to happen i'm predicting it'll happen mid-weekish! To be fair not much happens in the transfer market over the weekends (i.e. Announcement of signings) so you can't really moan at the club or OS for not annoucing it yet - Thats even if it is going to happen anyway!
Ricey Posted 3 July 2005 Posted 3 July 2005 I will be very happy indeed when/if this is announced, he is a player that has always impressed and certainly has a good reputation.
Molson Canadian Posted 4 July 2005 Posted 4 July 2005 4 July 2005 FOOTBALL SPY: NILS IS A BIG PLUS FOR CITY LEICESTER boss Craig Levein is signing defender Nils-Eric Johansson on a free transfer from Blackburn. Levein beat a couple of Championship rivals to land the Sweden centre-back (`above), who was a regular in the Rovers team until released at the end of last season. Johansson wanted to stay in England and will sign a three-year deal with the Foxes this week. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/tm_...-name_page.html i hope the mirror is right about this
Fox 4 Life Posted 4 July 2005 Posted 4 July 2005 now on skysports Leicester City may be set to bolster their backline with the capture of former Blackburn Rovers defender Nils-Eric Johansson. The Sweden international is looking for pastures new following his release from Ewood Park back in May. The former Nurnberg player turned down a move to Leeds United while Championship rivals Stoke City were also linked with the player, though that was before Tony Pulis was sacked as Potters manager last week. Foxes boss Craig Levein has stated that he may sign two more players by the end of this week, with the former Hearts manager thought to be keen on adding another defender to his Walkers Stadium squad. Reports in England are suggesting that Johansson will complete a free transfer move and sign a three-year contract with the Midlands club. It remains to be seen if the Scandinavian talent opts to continue his career with Leicester, as Levein looks for his side to make a stronger push for promotion this season.

Although I think he'll sign, it's obviously early days.

I know away travel is expensive and difficult for some supporters but I would suggest that a sign of how loyal and die hard the fans are come in matches like Blackpool in the cup or Gillingham and Burnley midweek. Whilst we did not have much to cheer about other than the cup run, Surely it is those times that attract the loyal and die hard fans. I'm probably going to get accused of calling people disloyal now because they don't travel away but that's not what I mean. Loyalty manifests itself in different ways to die hard I reckon.

Although it's not strictly true in saying that you can only be classed as a die hard loyal fan if you travel all over the country to support your team, it's generally thought that way. I don't travel to as many away games as I used to and I most certainly feel that i'm not as 'die hard' as I used to, not sure if anyone else feels this who's in the same boat as me and doesn't travel to away matches anymore?

To be honest I can deal with being labelled disloyal to save thousands of pounds watching the shower of sh*te that wore the blue shirt last season.
Molson Canadian Posted 4 July 2005 Posted 4 July 2005 http://www.fansfc.com/frontpage/frontpagen...p?newsid=141627 Leicester set to land Swedish star 10:23 July, 4, 2005 Nils-Eric Johansson is poised to join the Foxes according to reports this morning The Swedish international centre-back was released by Blackburn Rovers at the end of last season and had been linked with a move to Stoke City. Leicester boss Craig Levein though looks to have beaten off competition to land the player on a three-year deal.
Ric Flair Posted 5 July 2005 Posted 5 July 2005 Swede is close to City deal by BILL ANDERSON Leicester City expect to land the first of "two or three" new signings today when Sweden international Nils-Eric Johansson completes his medical tests. Manager Craig Levein appears to have beaten off several rivals for the signature of Johansson, who has been offered a two-year contract. The 25-year-old, who cost £2.7million when he moved to Blackburn from Nuremburg in 2001 after a previous spell with Bayern Munich, played at left-back in the Rovers side which dumped City out of the FA Cup last season but can also play as a central defender. This would tie in with Levein's plans for his squad to include players who can be adaptable in several different roles and, if the free transfer goes through, then he will be delighted. Confident of more on the way, Levein said: "I am hopeful that we would still manage to get two or three more in before the start of the season, and the sooner it happens the better because it would give them more time to settle in here. "Our training is going well and we are working towards our first pre-season game at Kettering on Sunday, and I would hope to be able to show the fans even more new faces." City are training at Loughborough University while their Belvoir Drive training pitches mature after being re-laid and the venue has a bonus for City as they are working in conjunction with members of the sports science department in monitoring fluid levels and general fitness. Levein said: "This is state-of-the-art stuff and the more it can help our preparations the better. The department here has the greatest reputation in this and we count ourselves fortunate to be able to use their expertise." While that side of their preparation is up to the minute, today they were going back into the mists of time in City tradition for the dreaded running programme at Bradgate Park, something that players of many generations will not remember with any great affection. The players are used to hard work at this stage in the build-up and skipper Danny Tiatto said: "The lads are enjoying the facilities here and thankfully everyone is fit to train and ready for the hard work." At last
Hitesh Posted 5 July 2005 Posted 5 July 2005 Good...but i still want to see some pictures of him holding a Leicester City shirt!

That's what I quoted above. I imagine the medical has taken place this afternoon, so news of the signing will be imminent unless he's failed it.
