Corky Posted 13 September 2012 Posted 13 September 2012 As defending champions, yes. As a team who is 10th in the rankings, I wouldn't be
Captain... Posted 13 September 2012 Posted 13 September 2012 11/11 - bit of a joke really. A bit, but if that is all they can fit in, so be it, I don't understand though why they can't be a bit more flexible with timing and scheduling, it was clearly going to rain that night, and on the night the other one was called off. So why not start earlier, play during the day, or postpone it for a day. The obvious answer is ticketing and TV, well screw Sky they can fill the time with other guff, as for ticketing, well all tickets would be valid for a rescheduled game, and refunds for those that can't make it and return their tickets for re-sale on the gate. Yesterday was good fun, but if no play or no result had been the outcome, it just seems so pointless.
Guest MattP Posted 13 September 2012 Posted 13 September 2012 11/11 - bit of a joke really. Not really, still have to adapt to conditions and bowl to the target you have set.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 13 September 2012 Posted 13 September 2012 As defending champions, yes. As a team who is 10th in the rankings, I wouldn't be Whilst T20 gives a little bit of entertainment at first class level, for National level i get little enjoyment from it as i don't think they take it seriously. FFS Brad Hogg plays club cricket and Australia in T20 at 40 odd.
Corky Posted 13 September 2012 Posted 13 September 2012 Ol' Crofty still played at 42, so we do the same (although he's Welsh, so it doesn't really count)
I am Rod Hull Posted 5 October 2012 Posted 5 October 2012 I am saving up for one or more Ashes tests next year, Trent Bridge especially is an absolute must. How much was it last time round? I was too skint to even contemplate it then. I received the pricing info in the post this morning, Bilo. Tickets go on sale at 09:30 on the 15th of this month. http://www.nottsccc....rnationals/#/1/ Not bad at all.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 5 October 2012 Posted 5 October 2012 I'm contemplating venturing to the old the dart too for the ashes but i keep taking trips interstate for domestic sporting events
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 5 November 2012 Posted 5 November 2012 Australia V South Africa starts Friday, think were screwed none of our batters made any runs on the weekend and to make things worse Shane Watson has been ruled out with injury. On the plus side Wade retained his spot and Bobby Quiney will get his first baggy green. That will make it 4 Victorians in the test team the other 2 being Siddle and Patto that hasn't happend in my time on this earth i don't think.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 8 November 2012 Posted 8 November 2012 First test V Seth Efrica starts today bloody pumped, wonder if i'll still have the same excitement after the first session.
Guest MattP Posted 8 November 2012 Posted 8 November 2012 Looking forward to it, two great series next couple of months. Think you'll really struggle against there pace, openers will be key seeing off the new ball.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 8 November 2012 Posted 8 November 2012 Looking forward to it, two great series next couple of months. Think you'll really struggle against there pace, openers will be key seeing off the new ball. Our batting is the key, they have been super inconsistent and question marks on all bar Warner and Clarke to keep there spots, Hussey shouldn't have a question mark but has struggled a bit recently and isn't getting any younger. Our top 3 have only played a combined total of 16 tests going in to today and Cowan hasn't exactly set the world alight in any of his tests. If there batters get on top of us we will struggle for sure with only 4 bowlers and no all-rounder to give them a chop out and keep them fresh.
marko Posted 8 November 2012 Posted 8 November 2012 Looking forward to this one too. Should be a cracking series and I think South Africa will just sneak a series win. There's something relaxing about watching cricket in bed as well.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 8 November 2012 Posted 8 November 2012 Souths are batting first, spewing i'll miss the opening hour I love watching Sids and Patto bowling. Least i'm knocking off a midday and can watch some at the airport.

Didn't realise Quiney was starting, have to say I think you are going to really struggle, Cowan hasnt scored against far worse attacks than this and Warner will be absolutely hammered with short stuff. Not seen Quiney so I can't comment.

Quiney can bat and made 85 against the Saffas in a tour match last weekend. 2 years ago he wasn't even a regular for his state side due to his lack of consistence but credit where credits due he has knuckled down and made a lot of runs in the last 2 seasons and cemented his spot.
Guest MattP Posted 9 November 2012 Posted 9 November 2012 Aussie bowlers starting to look like our ones dis after a couple of hours bowling to Amla. Going to be a long hard series.
Corky Posted 9 November 2012 Posted 9 November 2012 When Amla is settled it must be soul destroying bowling to him.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 11 November 2012 Posted 11 November 2012 Not a great first couple of days, only positive is that we lost a days play cos of rain
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 12 November 2012 Posted 12 November 2012 Great knock for his maiden test century, big talk if he didn't perform Quiney or Khwaja would take his spot in the next test. Also Clarke batting very nicely again.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 12 November 2012 Posted 12 November 2012 Was another great knock by Clarke yesterday, a double ton to add to his triple ton earlier in the year. Just averaging a lazy 113 this year.
Guest MattP Posted 15 November 2012 Posted 15 November 2012 Was another great knock by Clarke yesterday, a double ton to add to his triple ton earlier in the year. Just averaging a lazy 113 this year. Was very impressed from the limited footage I saw of you lot, Pattinson looks a hell of a player. Ashes might not be the walkover I though, big stuff for us tonight, have to bat well and put some pressure on the Indians. Massive blow losing the Finnster. Will all come down to how we play the spinners, should handle the pace fairly comfortably on these pitches.
chrishlcfc Posted 15 November 2012 Posted 15 November 2012 I can't see England having a good time in India this series. It's going to be trial by spin again, but India's batsmen Kholi especially are a lot stronger than ours. 3-0 India unfortunately for me
marko Posted 15 November 2012 Posted 15 November 2012 Missing the second spinner on today's evidence.
