marko Posted 22 November 2012 Posted 22 November 2012 407 isn't really similar to 482 on the opening day of a test match. I think the record team score on the opening days play of a test is 487, would of got there if they bowled the remaining 3.1 overs. We must have been going at a similar rate as we were bowled out around the 77/78 over mark. It's not exactly a million miles off.
Corky Posted 22 November 2012 Posted 22 November 2012 If Michael Clarke isn't the best batsmen in the world right now i would love to see who is! That Bangladesh number 10 who hit a hundred.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 22 November 2012 Posted 22 November 2012 That Bangladesh number 10 who hit a hundred. He is thankful he hit that hundred as his bowling isn't up to scratch 0-56 after taking the new pill. We must have been going at a similar rate as we were bowled out around the 77/78 over mark. It's not exactly a million miles off. You're right it's 75 runs x the length of the pitch so about 1509 metres off

Guest MattP Posted 23 November 2012 Posted 23 November 2012 Yeah was an amazing day and it wasn't as if the pitch was a road, there may not of been a great deal of sideways movement but there was plenty of bounce and carry. Was more just the fact that it was Warners time as he is hit and miss, combined with Clarke and Hussey who are in great form. They absolutley took the attack and punished anything that wasn't a good ball. Clarke especially demorilised Morkel, he came on after tea for a spell and his first over he spanked him for 5 4's in the over was incredible. Was thinking of field plans to Warner today (sums up my life) and I think he's the only player ever I'd actually employ a fly slip for, every big knock I've seen him have at some point one flies over and he swings so hard at balls they have a chance to, would be interesting to see how his head handles that as well.

It wouldn't effect him he swings that hard that it would go over a fly slip, A fineish deep 3rd man may get him out. It would effect Warners mindset, he backs him self regardless. He comes from the T20 school of cricket.

Daft as it sounds the Saffers arent out of this, hard to believe with 500 up there is still 4 days left.

Guest MattP Posted 23 November 2012 Posted 23 November 2012 Only been a days play Saffas could bat for 2 days now. Looks like it at the minute. BOOM!! Anderson, could do with nipping a couple out here early doors. Indians have a dodgy coin, convinced of it.
Guest MattP Posted 23 November 2012 Posted 23 November 2012 Good start for the Poms. Shouldn't worry, Monty is on now to give up a few. What's going on in your game? Just flicked over to see Hussey throwing down some right arm filth.
Guest MattP Posted 23 November 2012 Posted 23 November 2012 Bowling far better this morning, pace, aggression, to attacking fields. Monty bowling beautifully!
Guest MattP Posted 23 November 2012 Posted 23 November 2012 Fantastic stuff this, came out a different side.
purpleronnie Posted 23 November 2012 Posted 23 November 2012 Common sense at last....I guess the team have learned from their mistakes.
Alexikokopops Posted 23 November 2012 Posted 23 November 2012 I am the only one who is thinking this is all a bit ominous?
Captain... Posted 23 November 2012 Posted 23 November 2012 But didn't we do this in the UAE, we bowled well and kept Pakistan's totals down, but were let down by the batters, need to capitalise on this good position by posting a decent score.
marko Posted 23 November 2012 Posted 23 November 2012 Frustrating last session. We need a good morning session tomorrow or the game could slip away.
Guest MattP Posted 23 November 2012 Posted 23 November 2012 Let it get away a bit towards the end, that said we would have taken that after the toss. Hopefully wrap it up for less than 350 then try and put some pressure on.
pSinatra Posted 24 November 2012 Posted 24 November 2012 KP is flying..........39 from 41 balls. Playing some lovely stuff. Always seems to be a moment of madness away from getting himself out. Could really do with him hanging around........maybe for an hour or so. 133-2 an excellent response
Captain... Posted 25 November 2012 Posted 25 November 2012 Woke up just as we lost 3 wickets to finish with an 80 odd run lead. Watched us take 2 big wickets, happy days.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 25 November 2012 Posted 25 November 2012 Grew up watching Swann and Monty down Wantage Road. This is one of my favourite sessions ever.
Captain... Posted 25 November 2012 Posted 25 November 2012 5 down now and we still have a lead, we will do well to fvck it up from here.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 25 November 2012 Posted 25 November 2012 Monty clapping that Trott catch - made me laugh out loud. Great celebration.
