marko Posted 6 August 2012 Posted 6 August 2012 It's getting interesting now. Outside chance we could sneak a win.
marko Posted 6 August 2012 Posted 6 August 2012 Love the aggression here :-D I love seeing Morkel getting smashed around the park. I have an irrational dislike of both him and Steyn.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 6 August 2012 Posted 6 August 2012 Can't be arsed to google, but is it a 3 or 5 test series?
Guest MattP Posted 7 August 2012 Posted 7 August 2012 Three, big big test for us now but should take some real confidence in from the last two days. Hopefully KP can sort something out, we need him badly to stick around for the next 3-4 years.
Corky Posted 7 August 2012 Posted 7 August 2012 Three, big big test for us now but should take some real confidence in from the last two days. Hopefully KP can sort something out, we need him badly to stick around for the next 3-4 years. It's such a shame that it's come to this, we need him available.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 9 August 2012 Posted 9 August 2012 Anyone following the Aussie A v Pommy A side. Worst thing is Mitchel Johnson took 4 wickets, i don't ever want to see him back.
Guest MattP Posted 10 August 2012 Posted 10 August 2012 We want Mitch!! Been keeping tabs on the score, the KP row is overshadowing everything here, looks like next week will be his last game for England, huge shame. Good to see Bairstow getting a score, he has to be KP's long term replacement.
Corky Posted 12 August 2012 Posted 12 August 2012 It seems as though KP will be in the side for a while in different forms of the game. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/cricket/
Corky Posted 12 August 2012 Posted 12 August 2012 After I said that, he's left out of the squad for the Third Test.
Guest MattP Posted 13 August 2012 Posted 13 August 2012 Terrible state of affairs. Nothing more to say, privileged to watch him, finest I've ever seen when on form and his 150 I saw live in Colombo will stay with me forever.
Guest MattP Posted 16 August 2012 Posted 16 August 2012 Come on then.....we've been here before. We can do this.
Captain... Posted 16 August 2012 Posted 16 August 2012 Great start to the day, we just need one more wicket and we will be looking good, but these 2 can put on a big partnership.
Guest MattP Posted 16 August 2012 Posted 16 August 2012 Very dodgy! We are owed a couple from this series mind..... Finn doing everything we knew he could, he'll never be out the side again now, he could be absolutely anything given his age.
marko Posted 16 August 2012 Posted 16 August 2012 Exactly, it's not like SA haven't benefited from a few dodgy ones in the past. Sure we'll hear plenty about it.
Captain... Posted 16 August 2012 Posted 16 August 2012 Oooh a review, this could be big... Then they appeal for another catch down the leg side, Kallis stands his ground and England immediately review it... ...but does anyone else think the DRS has taken some of the sportsmanship out of the game, nobody ever walks any more if they have nicked it, they will just wait and let them review it (or hope they don't) and then walk off without a care in the world, it always used to be bad form to do that but now it is acceptable. I also think for LB reviews the umpire should say why he turned it down, and they can decide to challenge that, for example the umpire says the ball was going over the top, that is why he didn't give it out, Hawkeye shows the ball was going to hit middle, but the impact is "umpires call", in this case it is not out, even if the umpire thought the impact was in line. Anyway... ...Kallis is gone, he doesn't seem happy about it though, hotspot wasn't conclusive and it looks like he went on sound and not hot spot, but it all counts in the end. So did Smith and Kallis know they hit it and were being bad sportsman or did they genuinely think they didn't Smith hit the ground at the same time and Kallis gloved it, although hot spot wasn't conclusive?
marko Posted 16 August 2012 Posted 16 August 2012 Kallis definitely got a glove on it, just the fact his hand appeared to be off the bat.
Guest MattP Posted 16 August 2012 Posted 16 August 2012 I agree it's completely removed any sportsmanship, the benefits of getting it right do outweigh that though I think.... Kallis probably knew he wasn't out as his hand did look off, Smith knew he was but probably thought the ground bump might let him get away with it. May as well stay and take the chance. Think Gilchrist was the last high profile player to always walk.
Captain... Posted 16 August 2012 Posted 16 August 2012 Kallis definitely got a glove on it, just the fact his hand appeared to be off the bat. I guess if you don't know if your hand is off the bat then you wouldn't walk, but it is not just these 2 instances, is the DRS killing the spirit of cricket?
marko Posted 16 August 2012 Posted 16 August 2012 Possibly, I'm not sure. Players probably don't walk as much, but I think technology is a good thing.
