ThurnbyLodgeFox Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 I disagree, if we pull off 2 miracle upsets and reach Wembley it will mean a lot. A lot better than nothing. agree, I would +1 but I can't
Foxhateram Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 Think we will see an interesting line up, not sure how interesting though. Think we will nick it, we have done better in the cup because the pressure is off, we don't have to force for the win all the time (which has been our downfall over the last few league games). If were patient with our build up play and don't rush with the final ball. I truly beleive we can out play them. We will have to watch for their counter attacks though, they looked deadly against Swansea last week. Come on you foxes.
Guest ttfn Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 Bamba has to play. We've been even worse defensively since he left than we were when he was here (conceding 9 goals in 6 league games). Meanwhile he's conceded 0 goals in 6 games playing for Ivory Coast. Schmeichel Pantsil Bamba Morgan Konchesky Gallagher Danns Wellens Marshall Beckford Nugent subs: Logan, St. Ledger, Mills, Kennedy, Howard, Hopper, Peltier We really are disgracefully short of numbers in central midfield. I know people disagree on the relative merits of Abe and Fernandes, but the fact that Wellens, who by all accounts struggled through the second half yesterday, is going to have to play his 3rd 90 minutes in a week because we simply have nobody else is ridiculous given the resources at our disposal. With King possibly out until the end of the season, a loan signing in the centre of the park is an absolute must.
Pooley Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 Kasper SSL Miils Morgan Peltier Danns Wellens Konchesky Gallagher Nugent Beckford Logan, Bamba, Dyer, Marshall, Kennedy, Hopper, Moussa Yep! 3,5,1,2 Score: Could do well if Beckford continues his FA Cup form. 1 - 1 then most likely unluckily lose in the replay!
Nationwider Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 LCFC still owes me for Wycombe. This one would go part way to making up for that. 3rd round ignominy I can take. Let's not throw it away against the mustard munchers. I think we'll lose 5-3 btw.
acooling08 Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 With the Play Off push now essentially over, my interest in the cup has gone from 'not even listening to it on the radio', to 'this is gonna make our season'
ThurnbyLodgeFox Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 My Starting XI vs Norwich Schmeichel St Ledger Mills Morgan Konchesky Bamba Marshall Wellens Danns Beckford Nugent Bench: Logan, Peltier, Gallagher, Howard, Taft, Hopper, Moussa
ThurnbyLodgeFox Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 then again.. Keller, Grayson, Impey, Taggart, Walsh, Savage, Lennon, Izzet, Guppt, Heskey and Collymore could do the trick
HEGGSY Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 then again.. Keller, Grayson, Impey, Taggart, Walsh, Savage, Lennon, Izzet, Guppt, Heskey and Collymore could do the trick Is Guppt, Steve Guppy's German cousin?
ThurnbyLodgeFox Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 Is Guppt, Steve Guppy's German cousin? my bad
Corky Posted 15 February 2012 Posted 15 February 2012 I think Bamba should come back in. Morgan looked quite solid at Watford. St Ledger at right back.
stix Posted 16 February 2012 Posted 16 February 2012 Gallagher will start. I know no one has in the team to start but the guy that counts (NP) will start him. I am very worried we'll get bullied by their big men though, they've been doing it all season and we couldn't even handle Watford minus Marvin Sordell last night. I hope that as it is on TV we'll step it up. Not the main game though so probably not. Danns needs to bustle them off the ball in the middle, Mills and SSL need to be strong at the back and Gally and Lloyd need to help out the defence. I really see us letting in some sloppy goals on Saturday. UTF On TV?
Nick Posted 16 February 2012 Posted 16 February 2012 Picking a midfield out of our squad players is a lottery, NP must be scratching his head as he never knows if the player is actually going to turn up and play like they are capable.
ThurnbyLodgeFox Posted 16 February 2012 Posted 16 February 2012 Reading around Norwich's forum and listening to people, they sound to be putting a second string team out, Naughton is cup tied remember, and they have 2 cb's injured and 6 players who played against Swansea look to be rested. Vaughan and Jackson will probably start upfront, so I think we should go in, all guns blazing and get a win. We are more than capable of it

jonlcfc1990 Posted 16 February 2012 Posted 16 February 2012 We will win this! i have my lucky shirt and everything it's 100% in the bank
KFS Posted 16 February 2012 Posted 16 February 2012 Bamba has to play, especially with consistent clean sheets for his country. I hope Nigel isn't stubborn and gives him another go.

davieG Posted 16 February 2012 Posted 16 February 2012 Merc Leicester City were assessing the results of X-rays on midfielder Danny Drinkwater's injured foot. The 21-year-old had to be substituted at half-time in Tuesday night's 3-2 defeat at Watford after picking up a foot injury, and left Vicarage Road on crutches. "Drinkwater is going to have an X-ray because he has a problem with his foot, so we have to see how that is," Pearson said. If the former Manchester United youth product, who only joined City in a £1 million deal last month, is ruled out for any significant time it will add to City's injury woes. Darius Vassell, Martyn Waghorn, Andy King and Jeff Schlupp are already long-term absentees, while Matt Oakley has also been unavailable for a lengthy spell and Frank Moussa has been missing for a month. City will be boosted by the returns of Sol Bamba and John Pantsil from the African Cup of Nations for this Saturday's FA Cup fifth-round trip to face Norwich City. Bamba and Pantsil have missed the last nine games while they have been away on international duty. The duo are set to train with City again today and both could feature on Saturday as Pearson has promised to make changes after running out of patience with his side following the defeat against the Hornets. It is in midfield and attack that City are short on numbers, although Drinkwater is cup-tied for Saturday's game anyway, as is substitute goalkeeper Conrad Logan and young defender Liam Moore. But Nathan Delfouneso should be allowed to play as parent club Aston Villa have been knocked out of the competition. Chris Weale has returned to City from his loan spell at Northampton Town to have an injury assessed. The goalkeeper picked up what appeared to be a knee injury in the Cobblers' 1-0 home win over AFC Wimbledon on Tuesday night.
bluearmyfox23 Posted 16 February 2012 Posted 16 February 2012 Considering pearson has said he will make wholesale changes I'll go with this: Kasper (gk) SSL(RB) Bamba(cb) Morgan(cb) Konchesky(Lb) Marshall(Rm) Wellens(Cm) Danns(Cm) Fonz(LM) Beckford(st) Nugent(st) I'll stick with 4-4-2 but go all out attack especially since we have nothing to lose!!
judderman Posted 16 February 2012 Posted 16 February 2012 Hello, Norwich Fan here. I think this will be a very tightly fought affair. Definitely wouldn't be surprised to see it go for a replay (although oddly enough I would fancy us on the away leg). We've had 6 defenders injured in the last 2 games, which causes obvious problems. We signed Ryan Bennett from Peterborough but he's still there on loan for a few weeks. Against Bolton we played most of the game with a left back at left back (who got injured in the next game), 2 right backs at centre back, and a winger at right back. So it's going to be somewhat a makeshift back line. We can also expect Ruddy to be rested and a younger keeper to come in as that is what's happened so far. Our 2nd keeper (young Dec Rudd) is injured so that leaves even younger Jed Steer who made his debut against WBA away in the last leg. Then in midfield I wouldn't be surprised to see a few changes with Crofts and Johnson coming in because they've been dropped from the league team. And upfront I would expect Holt to be dropped for Morison. Something like Steer Martin Barnett Ward LappinFoxCrofts JohnsonHoolahanMorison Jackson It's not a bad team, but it doesn't matter which way you look at it, it's a weaker team than the one we got promoted with last season (weaker in every single department), so I think you have a good chance of turning us over. We may even play Wilbraham, who scored his only goal for us at the Walkers last season I'm particularly worried about Nugent, he's obviously in good form and has always caused problems for Norwich.
NottsCanary Posted 16 February 2012 Posted 16 February 2012 Hi guys, another Norwich fan here in peace. Just coming to say I wouldn't be too expectant of us playing a weak team on Saturday, I reckon it is all just mind games from Lambert. We played very strong teams against both Burnley and WBA in previous rounds and I really don't think we would do that in those rounds, just to play a weakened team in the 5th round (2 games from Wembley remember!) especially now as our season target of PL survival looks much more certain than it did when we were competing in Round 3. There will be changes, no doubt, just like there was in the previous rounds but that doesn't mean much as we have basically 2 teams competing for the first 11 every week anyway. Steve Morison will definitely start as he hasn't featured much recently so if what you say is true about struggling with big men up front then that could be a problem. Also wouldn't be surprised if Holt started as well, he played in Round 3 and 4, is in top form and is our captain after all so unlikely to be rested. Wes Hoolahan, like Morison, didn't start last Saturday so you can also expect him to be playing, for your sake you have to hope he isn't in form like he was when we played you at the Walkers last season... Anyway, enough about us, from an outsider looking in you look to have a team more than capable of giving us a good game and I reckon it will be close. Just so long as you aren't as bad as Burnley then you have a chance.... Enjoy the day (hopefully not too much!) and sorry for not giving you the 4000 ticket allocation you are entitled too - especially so as we look to be struggling to selling the tickets ourselves ..Best wishes!
