Leicesterpool Posted 16 February 2012 Posted 16 February 2012 an interesting review from spurs fan of Norwich's ground.
Jaspa Posted 17 February 2012 Posted 17 February 2012 We're fvcked if Bamba starts - he is the worst of them all vs big men. He got raped last season by Holt and can see it happening again. Unfortunately, even my Sunday League side could keep a clean sheet vs Zambia. We are better without him. Ivory Coast lost on penalties after drawing 0-0, and without conceding in the whole tournament. With Big Sol being picked alongside the Toure's and Drogba. He also played very well in all of the games, winning the ball with shows of strength and perfectly timed and weighted tackles throughout. Best centre back at the club. Could easily be worth 5M+. I could honestly see him playing for a top Euro team one day. My own opinion of course, but ive been hearing simular for the past year.

Unfortunately, even my Sunday League side could keep a clean sheet vs Zambia. Ghana didn't keep a clean sheet against Zambia. It's worth noting Bamba was also included in Jonathan Wilson's team of the tournament. Bamba's record against "big men" is nowhere near as poor as you make out. Mills, St. Ledger and even Morgan were dominated by Chris Iwelumo on Tuesday night - a journeyman striker Bamba had absolutely no problems with when the two sides met back in October. It's worth noting that since he's been away, we conceded 5 goals in the two league games in which we played against teams with big strikers - Watford (Iwelumo) and Middlesbrough (Jutkiewicz).
Number 6 Posted 17 February 2012 Posted 17 February 2012 Kasper Konch Bamba Morgan SSL Fonz Danns Wellens Marshall Beckford Nugent 442 when defending, 343 when attacking with Fonz pushing on. Think we need Fonz's pace, with him and Beckford we can do some damage on the counter.
Storming Posted 17 February 2012 Posted 17 February 2012 What a negative bunch on Here It a match 11v11 unless the ref takes sides as norm look back to last year against Man City no one gave us a look in but we matched them in both games and were unlucky .Unlike most of you lot we wont roll over just because their Premiership and as for Bamba bring him on even if it means moving up to midfield which I think may suit him better .Agreed he can give us some nervy moments but does more good than harm Sol Sol Bamba :trumpet: 8am start tomorow lets let them know we're there :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: :scarf:

Captain... Posted 17 February 2012 Posted 17 February 2012 Bamba & Pantsil not back from ACON yet going from the interview on RL today That's pretty poor if they are not available for Saturday, Toure was playing for Man City last night, so I can't see why they would be unavailable.

davieG Posted 17 February 2012 Posted 17 February 2012 Merc Defenders Sol Bamba and John Pantsil have still not returned to Leicester City after their African Cup of Nations exploits. City manager Nigel Pearson said he had expected to have Bamba and Pantsil back by now but both players were missing from yesterday's open training session, in aid of the club's One in a Million charity, at the King Power Stadium. Pearson said Pantsil had suffered a family bereavement, but he was in contact with both players and their respective national federations. City had hoped to have both players available for tomorrow's FA Cup fifth round tie at Norwich City but Pearson admitted he did not know when they would be available for selection. He added: "They are not back yet so I will be interested to see when they will be available." "The tournament was over last week and they are still not back. I would think that it would be reasonable to assume they would be back but, to be fair to John, he has had a family bereavement. "We have spoken to their federations and we are in contact with the players, but we hope to have them back sooner rather than later." Both players have missed the last nine games because of the tournament. Bamba played for the Ivory Coast, who reached the final last Sunday without conceding a goal in the tournament only to lose the final on penalties against Zambia. Pantsil's Ghana were knocked out in the semi-finals and lost the third placed play-off last Saturday.
jonlcfc1990 Posted 17 February 2012 Posted 17 February 2012 Sounds ominous Blue tinted verdict- Panstil wants Bamba to stay as a friendly request to deal with said family issues and they will fly back together and all will be good Cynical- With Pantsil's illness and now family reasons is he purposely staying away from the club? Does he like it at Leicester? not in the first team and just coming back to be benched after a partly successful AFCON competition where he's played well it's not unlikely that he wouldn't want to come back anytime soon. As for Bamba maybe he's not taken the final defeat to well although the best cure is to get home and let us sing his name for 90 and get him playing football again

davieG Posted 17 February 2012 Posted 17 February 2012 Naughton available for them. The Canaries’ boss admitted at his pre-match press call on Friday morning he has a few injury concerns ahead of the Foxes’ fifth round visit, but Lambert’s faith in his squad remains undiminished. Lambert also confirmed Tottenham have given permission for Kyle Naughton to potentially feature against the club he was on loan against last season. The full-back took a bang on the side of his knee towards the end of last weekend’s Premier League win at Swansea and will be monitored over the next 24 hours before Lambert makes a final decision on his fitness. James Vaughan is in the squad and pushing to play some part after coming through 90 minutes in a midweek reserve outing as he steps up his return from knee ligament surgery. Central defenders Zak Whitbread and Dani Ayala (hamstring) are ruled out along with Marc Tierney (groin). Lambert revealed he is considering whether to recall Jed Steer in place of John Ruddy after his impressive senior debut in the previous round’s win at West Brom. “There is a good chance that Jed will play. I’ll decide tomorrow (Saturday),” said Lambert. “There is one or two that are carrying little things at the minute so we will just see how they are and then I’ll make a decision what we are going to do. Adam Drury has a groin so I’ll just see how he is feeling. I don’t put any pressure on them and hopefully there’ll be okay. Benno (Elliott Bennett) seems to fine and the team I pick will be strong. Zak is not available. He is doing alright at the minute but I just think this one is too early for him. “James is in the squad. I think he is looking a lot better than he was a few weeks ago. He did fine against West Brom and I’ll see how he comes through today, but he will be in the squad. Most of the squad have played in the Premier League so there are not many who haven’t tasted it. They know whatever team we pick, what I expect.” Lambert reiterated Manchester United’s pending league visit is in his thoughts, but the Scot also wants cup progress against the Championship big spenders. “You give it every respect,” he said. “There’ll be some changes in the team, but it won’t be a weakened side that is for sure. It’s a game we’ll go and try to win. There is a chance to get through. I won’t treat it lightly. I’m sure everybody knows that Premier League survival is our priority, but any team I pick tries to win a football game. The Manchester United game takes care of itself. They are going for the title, they are playing really well. I watched them last night (Thursday) and I thought they were terrific the way they played. Tomorrow is the most important game for me.” Lambert also revealed midfielder Jonny Howson may be considered for next week’s scheduled Premier Reserve League home game against Arsenal for his first outing in a Norwich shirt since his January move from Leeds. Howson has not played since a knee injury in December.
