Churchill Posted 22 March 2012 Posted 22 March 2012 Before the game yesterday i would of took a draw at Blackpool they are a very good attacking side so i thought a draw would be a good result. I think the fact we were winning with 3 minutes remaining makes it look a bad result, with Hull and Forest coming up which i think we could win both of them then Pboro away if and its a big if we could pull of 3 wins on the bounce then we would be right up there. The season is not over yet get behind the lads!
Kitchandro Posted 22 March 2012 Posted 22 March 2012 It's got nothing to do with conceding in the last minute, if we had any hope of the play-offs we needed to win. So it is a bad result, because we drew.
Bugg Posted 22 March 2012 Posted 22 March 2012 I would have taken a draw to begin with. But when we played so well to get to the position we were in, throwing it away at the last minute is infuriating.
purpleronnie Posted 22 March 2012 Posted 22 March 2012 I find it baffling that anyone would of taken the draw.
nothin2seehere Posted 22 March 2012 Posted 22 March 2012 I'd take a draw at any away day before the match starts. But to lead the match twice and /then/ draw...sod that. Felt like a loss.
Churchill Posted 22 March 2012 Author Posted 22 March 2012 I find it baffling that anyone would of taken the draw. You expect us to win every game now then? I wanted a win i think we all did but i would of took a draw because Blackpool are a good side and 1 point is better than none.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 22 March 2012 Posted 22 March 2012 Would HAVE not of. Might as well have lost really, a draw at the moment is no good.
James. Posted 22 March 2012 Posted 22 March 2012 I generally hate it when people say this but... A NEW THREAD? FOR THIS?
Corky Posted 22 March 2012 Posted 22 March 2012 Good for you. Some of us realise though that draws aren't good enough anymore.
MC Prussian Posted 22 March 2012 Posted 22 March 2012 Good for you. Some of us realise though that draws aren't good enough anymore. Especially at this point of the season.
Yojoe36 Posted 22 March 2012 Posted 22 March 2012 Why would you take a draw? If we even wanted to think about play-offs we'd need to win all of them. Anyway. That's long and dead. Let's just finish top half and look to pre-season
paulsherwood1 Posted 22 March 2012 Posted 22 March 2012 The point here is that of course a draw at blackpool would be a good result, they are a top 6 team. However, conspiring to lose a goal in injury time YET again is a big issue. The other important point here is that it is not drawing at Blackpool that has cost us a play off place, its not winning enough games earlier in the season. If we were sat firmly in the play offs at the moment we would all be saying how happy we were with the draw, even if they did score in the last minute. Point is as per last year its the games that have gone that have been our undoing.
Captain... Posted 22 March 2012 Posted 22 March 2012 A valid point ruined by awful grammar, "I would have taken a draw" write it out 100 times. I understand the frustration that we conceded so late after having been ahead twice, but looking at the stats they were the better side, we played well in patches and weren't in the game at other times. This result hasn't ruined our play off chances they were ruined by awful performances against Barnsely, Bristol, Millwall etc. A draw away at Blackpool on a Wednesday evening after a busy schedule of games and using an experimental formation, is forgiveable.
paulsherwood1 Posted 22 March 2012 Posted 22 March 2012 Agree Captain Shrapnel, however you can't use stats.... if you did then City had more shots and more posession away at Chelsea!! Still lost 5-2 though!
Captain... Posted 22 March 2012 Posted 22 March 2012 Agree Captain Shrapnel, however you can't use stats.... if you did then City had more shots and more posession away at Chelsea!! Still lost 5-2 though! I know stats are unreliable, but it backs up what I listened to on the radio, we were poor until they scored, then we came back into it, we started the second half poorly and ended the second half poorly, but we had patches of very good football that had Young and Stringer purring. 60% posession for Blackpool is a lot, if anything a draw is a good result because if we had won we would have been 5 points away from the play-offs and we would have dared to dream again, as it is we are still respectable, but we aren't going up, the sooner we accept that the sooner we will be able to take positives from last nights games.
Guest Col city fan Posted 22 March 2012 Posted 22 March 2012 The shame of it is, we were easily the better side. A win would not have flattered us in the slightest.
MC Prussian Posted 22 March 2012 Posted 22 March 2012 This thread hurts my eyes. You should of taken took a draw.
NeilyBoy Posted 22 March 2012 Posted 22 March 2012 So cloths. Now we're as illiterate as the OP. Great job guys! Edit: Shit I mean unliterate. and grate gob.
