MattGamble92 Posted 28 March 2012 Posted 28 March 2012 SEASON OVER How many times are we going to see this every time we don't win? Where there is a chance, there is hope. As supporters all we should ever need is hope. Why accept we wont make the play offs when we're 4 points away? Why should we write the season off? We might have been painfully inconsistent, we might have some embarrassing excuses of human beings in our squad, but it's 4 points! Do you not want anything to get behind? Do you not want a club that are playing for something? Because there are plenty of clubs in the Football League that would love to be the margain away from the play offs. If you think it's over. Go fishing on a saturday. Go shopping. Stay away from the ground. We don't need people who sit their in silence and only raise their voice at every stray pass. We don't need your constant depression. We don't need your negativity. We need support. Its 7 games. It's 7 cup finals. It's Leicester City and it aint over till it's over. COME ON YOU FOXESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
dave the caveman Posted 28 March 2012 Posted 28 March 2012 Nice attitude in theory, but if you can allow yourself to genuinely get your hopes up when in reality we know we won't make it then you aren't a proper fan. Real fans feel real pain, and the pain of dissapointment to a real fan makes him cautious and realistic.
Simmo86 Posted 28 March 2012 Posted 28 March 2012 Because people are fickle and stupid! Too many reactionary morons on here, **** knows whats going to happen when the pubeless twerps hit real life!

I really don't buy into any other fan being better than another.

Real fans feel real pain, and the pain of dissapointment to a real fan makes him cautious and realistic. Eh? Real fans? Not a proper fan? I'm very perplexed at what I just read. So can fans not be optimistic and positive about a FOUR-point gap between us and the play-offs?! And can we not feel the pain of getting closer but not close enough? The realistic side is that there's still a chance, albeit slim. NOT that there's no chance at all.

I have seen us go from winning silverware and playing in europe with top 10 Premier League finishes to the 3rd tier of English football. How can you suggest i haven't felt pain? Im a Leicester fan ffs! And to feel pain and dissapointment surely you have to have hope in the first place?
Blueforever Posted 28 March 2012 Posted 28 March 2012 I've seen Leicester loose and win at Wembly, promoted and relegated...Martin O'Neil and Peter Taylor...Lee Phillpot and Steve Guppy And this season has been just another roller coaster ride no point moaning about it, it comes with supporting Leicester.
davieG Posted 28 March 2012 Posted 28 March 2012 I guess how long you've been a supporter might affect your optimism/pessimism levels, some of us have been here before and seen that we falter more times than we succeed. Also if you don't expect and then achieve it's a far better feeling than expecting and then failing. Frankly I rarely expect us to win, predicting a draw is me being my most optimistic. ‘It’s not the despair, I can take the despair. It’s the hope I can’t stand.’
SaltyDog Posted 28 March 2012 Posted 28 March 2012 Isn't moaning about moaning the same thing? Yes yes but isn't it positive moaning to find out why people are moaning?

Bollocks, just because he's optimistic and doesn't come on here after every bad result spitting his dummy out and acting like a moron makes him bad fan! Jesus Christ, I give up!

This People need to realise this is the norm with football. Unless you support Man Utd, disappointment and football come hand in hand. Deal with it!
Gold Coast Fox Posted 28 March 2012 Posted 28 March 2012 Why do people get married if their going to have an argument now and then? Football is a love hate relationship

Real fans feel real pain, and the pain of dissapointment to a real fan makes him cautious and realistic. I think the opposite is true. IMO real fans keep hoping and praying that we will succeed until we statistically can't. And then doing the same the next season.. And the next. Yes, we can be realistic and argue the toss.. But I would all hope that we want the same thing ie. for the team to do well

So what you are saying is that I am not a real fan because I am optimistic that we will beat Peterborough Saturday, and every game I go to or watch or listen to I am optimistic we will win. You really are a tit aren't you.

COME ON YOU FOXESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS Realistically though, we're going to have to win at least 5 of our 7 remaining games to stand a chance of catching up with the teams ahead of us. Given our inconsistency this season so far, I think it's personally reasonable to have little confidence in pulling that off. I mean that's not to say it's impossible...but let's face it, it's hardly likely either.
Matt Posted 28 March 2012 Posted 28 March 2012 Realism can often be percieved as pessimism, Pessimism can often be percieved as moaning, I think that is where the confusion comes from. Sorry but i'd rather be a realist than optimistic to be disappointed, all i'm saying is we've won 2 in a row once this season, whilst a playoff spot is still within our hands we need to win a run of 3 or 4 games - I think we'll need to win atleast 6 in total out of a remaining 7, I just can't see it, I hope we do, but it is a realistic view, not a pessimistic view, not moaning view. I'm afraid that simply isn't good enough with what our pre-season targets, aims and expectations were, I wasn't being silly pre-season, I knew we weren't going to walk the league, I didn't expect automatic places, but I expected 6th (or better) place, to be playing well, and to be winning 2 games in a row on more than 1 occasion, we havn't, now to some that may sound like moaning, I don't know, but it is all fact.
Captain... Posted 28 March 2012 Posted 28 March 2012 Realistically though, we're going to have to win at least 5 of our 7 remaining games to stand a chance of catching up with the teams ahead of us. Given our inconsistency this season so far, I think it's personally reasonable to have little confidence in pulling that off. I mean that's not to say it's impossible...but let's face it, it's hardly likely either. Stop looking at the bigger picture, look at it as a series of smaller pictures, pixels if you will, that make up the bigger picture: Can we beat Peterborough on Saturday? Yes Can we beat Doncatser? Yes Can we beat Ipswich? They seem to be a bit of a bogey side for us, but we are better than them so I am sure we can. Can we beat Millwall? Yes Can we beat Burnley? Yes Can we beat Wet Spam? A tough one this one but we are unbeaten at home for 7 games now so I reckon we could sneak it. Can we beat Leeds? Yes I guess what I am saying is we can go into all of our remaining fixtures confident of victory, as fans as players we should believe we are capable of winning all of them. Will we? Probably not but take each game in its own right and I don't see why not. Just because we have been inconsistent all season doesn't mean we have to be, just because we have been blighted by bad luck, bad refs, and (more importantly) poor performances, doesn't mean that we will be for the next 7 (10) games.
5waller5 Posted 28 March 2012 Posted 28 March 2012 Real fan this, real fan that. We're all just fans, it's that simple. I really don't buy into any other fan being better than another. Apart from me. MattGamble92 Posted 28 March 2012 Author Posted 28 March 2012 You only live once. You might be dead by next season. Live for the moment. Never say never. This could still be our season. Despite last night i see a team coming together out there. I see a stadium gaining more and more atmosphere every game. I see hope. I see pride. I see Leicester City.

The Year Of The Fox Posted 28 March 2012 Posted 28 March 2012 What a load of rubbish. I was asked the same question about why i bother going the games if I don't think we'll win. It's because i love leicester city. My home town team. It doesn't mean I think we're good, a big club or anything like that. I go to the games more cynical than most. I expect us to lose most weeks where most fans think we'll win. There's a difference between being a fan and being utterly deluded. It's certainly stopped me from feeling as disappointed about this season as most others. Nothing wrong with hoping for the best last pre season, but to assume we'd walk it as lots of fans thought just shows naivety. I've seen far too many games that ended like the blackpool one last week in my life and I'm only 20 odd. In fact I really wouldn't be happy in a game with 85mins gone and winning 4-1! It's Leicester for gods sake! Having said all that I don't boo at the games. I sing myself hoarse game in game out. I'm not a crap fan or whatever you say. I'm realistic and it just means I won't be heartbroken when we mathematically can't finish in the top 6
