....Had a game for my local side today, so have missed everything. Been on the "banter" page on FB and this, but cant make out whether we were poor or just unlucky. Also, can someone elaborate on the Beckford incident please... Much appreciated

Kasper 6 - Good pnealty save, apart from that and giving it away, he had nothing to do really.

Peltier 5 - Usual display we have had from him since about Christmas, nothing special and looking poor defensively.

SSL 5 - Missed a sitter in the air, early second half, should have hit the target with his header.

Morgan 5

Konchesky 5

Bamba 6 - Apart from a few dodgy passes he had an ok game.

Drinkwater 4 - His shooting and creative attempts through passes were poor.

Marshall 5 - Tried hard, but mainly quiet

Dyer 2 - I like Dyer, but he was terrible today. Wouldnt take anyone on, and had a glorious chance which he passed to the keeper. Poor.

Beckford 2 - Poor game all the way through similar to Dyer. Wouldnt put his head in where it hurts to grab an equaliser, sort of shows how he wont 'die for the shirt'. Needs to pull his finger out.

Nugent 4 - Never really in the game at all, and never looked like threatening when he had the ball.

Wellens 4

Schlupp 4

Schmeichel 6.5 - A couple of awful kicks but some good saves. He could have thrown his hat on the penalty; it was awful.

Peltier 3 - We were repeatedly exposed on his side in the second half. Doesn't look remotely dangerous in attack.

Morgan 3 - Like a stacked Matt Mills.

St. Ledger 5 - Actually thought he was doing ok until he was subbed. Missed a sitter at the start of the second half.

Konchesky 6 - Usual reliable performance from him.

Bamba 4.5 - Gets most of these points for one unbelievable moment where he tackled two Posh players at once. Distribution was poor, but at least he's trying to do something constructive with it.

Drinkwater 4 - Offered so, so little. Woeful free kick at the end summed up the apathetic team performance. Walked up and hoofed it into the stand.

Dyer 4 - Useless today.

Marshall 6 - Good first half but faded in the second. His crossing is excellent and he's pretty much the only thing to get excited about at the moment.

Nugent 4 - Not a winger.

Beckford 4 - Once again offered nothing and conspired to chicken out of a 1-yard tap in. Was unlucky not to get a free kick (and possible red card for the defender) at the start of the game. Not really surprised by the incident at the end for a number of reasons.

subs:

Both were completely ineffective.

Probably the least I've enjoyed a football match for ages. My enthusiasm for the game was sucked out of me by the apathy of the players.

Kasper 8 (Made some outstanding saves today, one dodgey corner and a couple of wayward kicks. Great penalty save.)

Peltier 7 (Pretty steady game, got foward well.)

St Ledger 7 (Got some shit from the home fans but was pretty solid at the back today)

Morgan 5 (Made some good tackles and won a few important headers but got found out today, to slow.)

Konchelsky 6 (Worked hard, terrible first touch all game but tied to create and get the team going forward)

Bamba 8 (Bossed the midfield, strong in the tackle, tidied up the midfield all day, great game, love Bamba in this position)

Dyer 5 (Never got in the game, made 2 maybe 3 runs all day cut inside everytime, to predictable.)

Drinkwater 5 (Tried hard, just got lost in the game)

Marshall 8 (Quality!!!! looked dangerous everytime he had the ball, worked his socks off, got lost for about 15 minutes in the second half but his delivery was gr8)

Nugent 6 (Worked hard but never got into the game)

Beckford 3 (Lazy, not playing for the badge, thinks he is bigger then the team, get rid of him)

We did everything we needed to do to win today but were let down by certain players. We were unlucky not to score, should of had a penalty and lost to a great strike.

Kasper 5 - came flapping for a cross first half. Had no business coming out like he did for the penalty, although redeemed himself with the save. Not much to do overall.

Peltier 5

SSL 6 Awful, awful miss.

Morgan 5

Konchesky 6

Dyer 4 Really poor.

Bamba 5

Drinkwater 5

Marshall 7 Was everywhere, going to be a great player for us.

Beckford 5 Looked dangerous towards the end of the game cutting in from the left. Should've thrown himself at the ball to guarantee himself a goal though.

Nugent 4 Just no threat out wide. Could've easily seen red for his retaliation to an incident too.

Wellens 6 Looked good when he came on.

Schlupp 4 Offered nothing. Looked uninterested.

Thank you for writing the exact same thing I was going to put. We have had th same day I think

Kasper 6 kept us in the game, I wish our players were passionate as he was, after the defeat he had to get a few players just to come and appreciate our support!

Peltier 4 not a lover of him, good attacking but lacks getting back in time and not brilliant in defence for me. Always exposed.

SSL 5 Missed a chance we should of scored

Morgan 5 Average, don't think it should of been a free kick though when we scored

Konchesky 5 Didn't do much

Bamba 6 looked ok in the midfield again, got stuck in but made a few wrong decisions and passes

Drinkwater 5 Tried hard

Marshall 7 my man of the match, tried hard, wasn't scared getting stuck in, few decent shots and some lovely crosses.

Nugent 5 Wasted on the wing.

Beckford 3 Didn't look bothered, never worked for the ball, lazy beckford yet again, I won't be bothered at all if/when he goes.

Dyer 5 didn't look his usual self, awful miss.

Schmeichel - 8 - Top pen save, no chance with the goal.

Peltier - 5 - We need to look for a new right back in the summer. He's really not good enough.

St Ledger - 7 - His best game for a while. Should have scored.

Morgan - 7 - Won everything in the air. Not much better distribution than Mr. Mills, though.

Koncheskey - 6 - Didn't do much. Crosses were poor and he didn't have the pace to beat the fullback.

Bamba - 6 - Some stupid passes as per usual. But overall I think he's a better midfielder than he is a centre half.

Drinkwater - 4 - Drop him for Wellens against Donny. Disgraceful freekick as the last kick of the game said it all.

Dyer - 4 - Clue is in the name. Honestly he's not good enough. One good game in about 2/3 months now against Hull.

Marshall - 8 - Build the team around this lad. The only one up front who made things happen. He's a Gally who can tackle and head it.

Nugent - 6 - No lack of effort. But for **** sake. He's a striker.

Beckford - 4 - Well. A typical 'bad' Beckford display. He blows hot and cold and today he might have caught frostbite.

Schlupp - 6 - Tried and held it up a few times but he was played on the wing too. Good option but not ready yet.

Wellens - 7 - Came on and made things happen. He needed a kick up the arse and he's still a very good player.

Pearson - 3 - Tactics and motivation were shocking. Both need to be 100% this time of the season.

Fans - 7 - I expected better today. We didn't get going and that was down to a flat performance from the team.

Posted

SSL - 7 - Yes he missed a sitter, but was very good defensively.

Drinkwater was poor again - time to drop him.

Marshall was good.

Nugent/Beckford both poor.

Posted

Kasper-8 (great saves, still some poor distribution)

Peltier-2 (crap)

Morgan-4 (poor, There are better defenders at the club)

SSL-5(not great)

Konchesky-5 (poor first touch)

Bamba-5

DD-6

Marshall-7

Dyer-3 (woeful)

Nugent-6 (endeavour was there, quality wasnt)

Beckford-2 (have some balls chap, going backwards)

Taylor for them was class

Kasper - 6.5 God knows what he was doing for the pen

Peltier - 5 Everything good for them came down his side

Morgan - 6 Sound for the majority, exposed for pace a couple of times

SSL - 6 Would of been an 8 if it was for that awful awful miss

Konch 7 - Standard

Drinkwater - 6 Free kick at the end was woeful, busy during the game

Bamba - 6 Mixed bag. Some good break up play, offset by poor distribution

Dyer - 3 Just well......Dyer

Marshall - 7.5 Cracking delivery, looking very decent

Nugent - 5 Not a winger

Beckford - 5.5 Some good hold up play, should have taken one for the team to score. People going OTT with the stuff at the end.

Posted

Marshall was the one positive today for me. Looks a great prospect.

Kasper - 6 - Good pen save but was him who gave it away. Some poor kicks too.

Konchesky - 6

Morgan - 6 - Some nice cross field balls and decent heading but too slow (a trait evident across our team)

Sledge - 5 -How did he not score?

Peltier - 4 - Very poor defensively

Drinkwater - 4 - Was really excited by this signing but has faded rapidly. Was lost today.

Bamba - 6.5 - Some good tackles but seemed restrained going forward

Nugent - 5 - this new system isn't helping him at all

Marshall - 7 - Bags of potential and our most dangerous player

Dyer - 5

Beckford - 4 - Didn't challenge for a lot and generally poor game. Imo, if the ball is there to be put in near the back stick, you throw whatever part of your body you can at it to get the goal.

Subs:

Wellens - 6.5 - Improved the team but not by much

Schlupp - 6 - think he needs more game time UP FRONT

Pearson - 4 - We weren't bold enough today. The time to play safe has long gone this season. Pboro players wanted it more, simple as.

Schmeichel - 6. Conceded a penalty and saved it too. Taylor's goal pretty much unstoppable.

Peltier - 4. Positioning horrendous, he's totally gone off the boil, I've lost faith that he'll be in our team next season, back-up standard. I was a fan but now... shocking lately.

Morgan - 6. Not bad in fairness.

St Ledger - 4. Wank. One great game followed by one shit, inconsistent and like Peltier, I don't see him being a regular next season.

Konchesky - 5. Seen him play far better, not disgraceful.

Bamba - 5. Erratic passing as ever, won the ball occasionally but meh, not a midfielder and that's that.

Drinkwater - 5. Another disappointing display. Played a fantastic pass in the first half but quiet overall.

Dyer - 3. Was there any point? His attitude is over-rated, too negative for a winger, waits for Konchesky to overlap him when he's the one with the pace. Literally think he's one of the most talentless footballers I've seen here. Shite.

Marshall - 7. Only one who seemed like he could make something happen. Maybe didn't produce the magic but... nearly did. Damn sight better than the others.

Nugent - 4. Fvcking awful. He's another who's gone right off the boil sadly.

Beckford - 4. Shite. Not basing it on this "LAK OV passion" at the end but it does say something, I have no doubt the anti-Beckford's will be out wanting his head and the pro's will be saying give another chance. I swear every single game is just an on-going battle between our fans divided opinions on pretty much everyone. On the pitch, he offered little.

Subs;

Wellens - 6. Not bad I thought. But it's Wellens, so it's automatically his fault we lost.

Schlupp - N/A

I assume today was your first game - congratulations!

Assumed very wrong then didn't you.

I've backed Dyer in the past but sorry, the bloke's one of the most technically limited players I've ever seen. He's got great pace, but what else? Anything?

He hasnt really got much of a brain thats for sure as his decision making is so poor. He isnt good enough to be a starter all the time for a team that is pushing for promotion, but is a player i would have in the squad.

I didnt make the game today, but your rating comments are absolutely spot on, both game and season relevant, couldnt agree more apart from Nuge who sounds like he's just suffering from NP's lack of positivity in attack by sticking him out wide to waste away. A la Waghorn under Sousa. Dyer is quick but has no end product largely due to the lack of brain cells and most of the time not in total control of the football.

Posted

Dyers smash over the bar showed a massive lack of quality, composure and footballing decision making. Frustrating considering his performance v Hull

Pearson is not about to replace Dyer. Dyer is a NP type player.

Posted

Dyer was put through 1v1 today and he should of hit it with his right foot, but instead he has to get it on his left and side foots it straight at the keeper.
