However, i'm a season ticket holder and go every week and i must admit that the atmosphere has become a lot better with 'we love you...' and 'ohhhh ben marshall..'. With these chants, they are really good as they are really easy to remember, and can get the whole family involved! Im only 14 years old and i hope you dont discard this forum just because of my age but when i see little kids waving the scarf it always brings a smile to my face and the people around me! So if we could get 26 27 28 or 29,000 fans a week, the King Power would be rocking again and so much more enjoyable for the players too! Can someone please explain why we only get 20,000?

You'll only get 32,000 when we play a big team or are doing well... Happens all the time! Theres a few plastic fans in Leicester who only come when we are winning or playing Real Madrid for example.

Danny the Fox 95 Posted 11 April 2012 Posted 11 April 2012 Because Leicester is known for its Rugby as well as Football, and Leicester Tigers are the most successful English rugby club. They are the equivelent of someone like Man Utd. A factor why we only get just above 20,000 at home could be the amount of ethnic cultures there are in the city, I'm not trying to be stereotypical but many Indian boys support the big clubs like Liverpool, Man Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal, and they dont see the attraction of supporting a second tier side. I have many asian friends but I only know two in my entire college that truly support Leicester.

Well we average more at the KP in the Championship with dearer tickets than we were able to accommodate at Filbert Street, and there were many matches in the Premiership then that we failed to sell out. I'd say that the KP is a positive rather than a negative with regards to attendances, although the prices do put many people off.

cc_star Posted 11 April 2012 Posted 11 April 2012 Ticket prices, people are short on money, advances in tech mean most games are viewable online for free I think if we'd have walked the league like the false dawn of a summer lead us believe, the attendances would be right up there but because its been 1 step forward, 1 step sideways & 1 step backwards it's not top of people's list to spend money on.

Bellend Sebastian Posted 11 April 2012 Posted 11 April 2012 I was moaning the other day about spending £35 for two adults and a baby (yes, it was £1 for a baby) to get into Twycross Zoo, until I remembered how much it costs to buy a ticket to watch City on the day, and they don't even have proper monkeys there. The missus and I earn a pretty good wage and am fortunate enough to have the money spare to buy a season ticket, but I honestly think that if I didn't have one I'd never come again because the matchday price just doesn't seem good value anymore. You can have a lot more fun for a lot less money (and I'm not talking about making babies, although that part of it is pretty cheap)

steveherbe Posted 11 April 2012 Posted 11 April 2012 As others have said, it's all about cost. As the OP is only 14, no doubt his parents pay for his tickets, so cost isnt an issue. As I've stated before on FT, for me and son to go to a game, it's a 400 mile round trip, tickets cost us around £60 a time. Add into that a couple of beers and some food, plus the 10 hours or so it takes out of a saturday. Also, wife now attends, so add another £30+. So tickets, diesel, food and drink, I dont get change out of £150 for a 90 minute football match. There's your answer young man, it's all about the money.

Last time we were in the Premiership we averaged 30,982, and i believe we had just two/three games with attendances below 30k (Bolton, Fulham and Middleborough?) If we get promoted again, i am sure we would have around 30k most weeks again.
Bayfox Posted 11 April 2012 Posted 11 April 2012 I've been an advocate for a long time of selling cheap kids tickets when purchased with an adult say £5 for the kid and £15 for an adult when purchased together, if they did this via schools or junior football sides so the kids put the pressure on parents to buy even if the dad was a manure or chelski fan it may lead to a new generation of City fans in the long term. Plus the income would then come via things such as extra shirt, scarf sales etc on the day and what kid doesn't pester their parents for a burger, drink etc. I do feel the other factor we have is that we always only had a hardcore of 12-14k when BL was in charge so an extra 6k every week should be a boost to the coffers but in a 32k stadium it is seen as a negative, plus as mentioned before having a rugby club up the road that has had major success for the last 15 years or so doesn't help.
