kingfox Posted 16 April 2012 Posted 16 April 2012 For anybody interested in Snooker, the draw for the World Championships was made just about 1 hour ago. The tournament starts in only six days, and I cannot wait for it. Draw Top Half John Higgins v Liang Wenbo Stuart Bingham v Stephen Hendry Graeme Dott v Joe Perry Stephen Maguire v Luca Brecel Shaun Murphy v Jamie Jones Stephen Lee v Andrew Higginson Ali Carter v Mark Davis Judd Trump v Dominic Dale Bottom Half Mark Williams v Liu Chuang Ronnie O'Sullivan v Peter Ebdon Martin Gould v David Gilbert Neil Robertson v Ken Doherty Ding Junhui v Ryan Day Mark Allen v Cao Yupeng Matthew Stevens v Marco Fu Mark Selby v Barry Hawkins Some good matches to look out for, this year has three players making their debuts in Jamie Jones, Cao Yupeng and Luca Brecel. Luca Brecel will make history by becoming the youngest to play at the Crucible beating Stephen Hendry's record, while four chinese players will take part this year also a record. While our very own Mark Selby has been drawn against Barry Hawkins, Hawkins doesn't have a very good Crucible record but is a very dangerous player.
StanSP Posted 16 April 2012 Posted 16 April 2012 Might put a fiver on Selby or Trump to win. I'd like Selby to win and will be backing him, but wouldn't mind if Trump won either.
isaidno Posted 16 April 2012 Posted 16 April 2012 O'Sullivan vs Ebdon is the stand out match, Making my 4th visit to the crucible this year, I'm going to one of the quarter finals, which I think would be the one that Selby will play if he gets through. Had no idea who I was seeing when I ordered the tickets a few months ago, so i'll be well chuffed if i get a Selby match again.

isaidno Posted 16 April 2012 Posted 16 April 2012 What day, time are you going? I will tell you if you don't know. Wednesday 2nd May, 10am. Not sure if i've got QF2 or QF4. Need to check my ticket later. Pretty sure it was the final session of QF4
Libertine Dream Posted 16 April 2012 Posted 16 April 2012 Definitely gonna put some on Judd to win. Again Selby will miss out this year, his half of the draw is too difficult in my opinion. Ill go for a Trump v Robinson final, and will put a couple of quid on Brecel beating Maguire.

Was thinking the same, might even do both E/W, hopefully both make the final (If thats possible, not sure how the draw works) then i'll win on both either way.

Bert Posted 16 April 2012 Posted 16 April 2012 Trump is really arrogant. So I don't want him to win. Come on Selby!
purpleronnie Posted 16 April 2012 Posted 16 April 2012 Trump is really arrogant. So I don't want him to win. Come on Selby! But selby's dull.
isaidno Posted 16 April 2012 Posted 16 April 2012 Just checked my ticket and it's for the final session off the quarter final if Selby got through. Hoping for Selby vs Allen. Don't want Ding or Fu again
brockmyster Posted 16 April 2012 Posted 16 April 2012 But selby's dull. Like he is, he's the jester from Leicester
Libertine Dream Posted 16 April 2012 Posted 16 April 2012 I agree plus he always seems to struggle with the longer matches imo Thats because when it gets past round one and becomes 3 or more sessions Selby will have a bad session 2 just always happens.

Don't want Ding or Fu again Is that Wednesday 2nd May? If so thats when I'm down to go. Fu is far to boring and Ding seems to do well against Selby. Definitely like to see Allen v Selby, Allen is very much like Judd so it will make it interesting Trying to grt tickets for the Final session of the final but my mate won't let me have 1, despite my large offers. Don't trust some of these ticket sites and their pirces at all

kingfox Posted 17 April 2012 Author Posted 17 April 2012 Nice to see the thread getting interest. I have tickets for, Murphy v Jones, Williams v Chuang and two second round matches. So I will be going on the Sunday afternoon, and I cannot wait.

Don't trust some of these ticket sites and their pirces at all Wednesday 2nd May , 10am. I'm on the second row, centre of the table. I've seen Selby twice before, vs King in 2008 and Hendry in 2009
Salieri Posted 21 April 2012 Posted 21 April 2012 Higgins is a big price @10/1 (bet365). Great record in this tournament and in the 'easy' half of the draw. More than likely he will have to beat Mr.Trump en route to the final mind. I just stuck a tenner on him, just hope he gets past Liang Wenbo after a nervy morning session. (finished 5-4 Higgins).
Libertine Dream Posted 21 April 2012 Posted 21 April 2012 Hendry looks like Hendry of old, this could be session of the tournament already
Bert Posted 21 April 2012 Posted 21 April 2012 But selby's dull. So are a lot of things. You don't have to like him do you.
Bert Posted 21 April 2012 Posted 21 April 2012 Anyone see the snooker Wenbo had Higgins in when they had pink and black remaining? First class.
Bert Posted 21 April 2012 Posted 21 April 2012 Yes Hendry with the 147! My all time favourite player!
