21st Century Fox Posted 20 April 2012 Posted 20 April 2012 With friends trying to film it on a mobile through a window!
Leicfox Posted 20 April 2012 Posted 20 April 2012 McDonald has claimed that the woman was asked if Evans could get 'involved', and she said yes. Sounds very much to me like one word vs another. McDonald and Evans claim that she wasn't that drunk and consented to sex, whilst she claims to have been too drunk to remember anything at all. Confusing stuff. So if that's the case surely McDonald has committed perjury?? Weird.
sampears18 Posted 20 April 2012 Posted 20 April 2012 be out in 2 and a half, and he'll probably be able to play professionally again unfortunately. If he was a doctor or a dentist or served you your food at McDonalds would you feel the same way?
GingerrrFox Posted 20 April 2012 Posted 20 April 2012 To be honest something like this was coming footballers in the modern day seem to think they are untouchable and above everybody else judging by the actions of many in recent years. The way I've had it explained to me by a friend studying law is that as she admitted voluntarily going back to Clayton McDonald's hotel room and then having sex with him he was found innocent whereas Ched Evans came in afterwards and thought he could have a go as well. Unanimous on decisions on both parts for guilty and not guilty! To be honest I find the actions of Sheffield United appalling, if one of our players had been convicted of a rape I would be ****ing furious if he was still employed by the club.

Has it not just come out? They've not really had time to react, have they? You can't be suggesting they should have sacked him before he was found guilty?
Guesty Posted 20 April 2012 Posted 20 April 2012 Give Sheffield United a chance, he only got found guilty 30 mins ago. I'm pretty sure his p45 is being drawn up right now. He might have been innocent so they couldn't sack him till after the verdict.
21st Century Fox Posted 20 April 2012 Posted 20 April 2012 Not naming any names but there's going to be some disappointed faces, I can think of a couple of people who wanted him signed up in the summer!
Finnegan Posted 20 April 2012 Posted 20 April 2012 I've just looked at their OS and it says they are carefully making a decision. He'll be released.
GingerrrFox Posted 20 April 2012 Posted 20 April 2012 I've just looked at their OS and it says they are carefully making a decision. He'll be released. They won't release him, they will suspend him without pay and wait to see what happens in the appeal (which will undoubtedly happen soon) and then go from there. That was what I meant by appalling behaviour, just because he's a player that has scored goals for them this season doesn't change the fact that he is a convicted rapist and should be sacked immediately! Not waiting to see if it gets turned over on appeal...
Royston. Posted 20 April 2012 Posted 20 April 2012 if she doesnt remember anything how did the whole case come to light?
GingerrrFox Posted 20 April 2012 Posted 20 April 2012 If it was Nuge, Beckford or any of our strikers I would be saying exactly the same thing btw rape is a disgusting act and not one that should be treated as lightly as it seems to be these days.
Happy Fox Posted 20 April 2012 Posted 20 April 2012 if she doesnt remember anything how did the whole case come to light? Him scoring goals and being in the limelight?
21st Century Fox Posted 20 April 2012 Posted 20 April 2012 if she doesnt remember anything how did the whole case come to light? A hotel receptionist saw them and she probably worked out what had happened but didn't remember them.
Guest MattP Posted 20 April 2012 Posted 20 April 2012 Coventry have a decent striker in 2 1/2 years....
GingerrrFox Posted 20 April 2012 Posted 20 April 2012 if she doesnt remember anything how did the whole case come to light? She claimed remembered Clayton McDonald but not Ched Evans apparently

Not waiting to see if it gets turned over on appeal... They know him and the events much better than we do. If they believe there's merit to the appeal and the verdict is unjust then perhaps they'll give him the benefit of the appeal and see what's what. If he's found guilty beyond doubt they'll release him, for sure.

Not waiting to see if it gets turned over on appeal... If hes found not guilty in his appeal and they sack him now, he'll probably be able to sue them for wrongful dissmissal (or something along those lines). Sheff United have to walk a legal tightrope as well. Not saying they're correct, unfortunatly thats the way the world seems to work now. Bit like when Wise tried to sue us for wrongful dissmissal just because of some legal loophole.
Guest MattP Posted 20 April 2012 Posted 20 April 2012 The moral of the story is if you are gonna go two's up on a rape make sure you're the fcuker that takes her back.....

Not waiting to see if it gets turned over on appeal... Appeal on the grounds of inconsistent verdict maybe? I'm no lawyer but I'm sure that's a very difficult ground to appeal? As things stand he's a rapist and should be sacked I agree.

Bugg Posted 20 April 2012 Posted 20 April 2012 SIGN HIM UP My Port Vale supporting friend says he is appalling
21st Century Fox Posted 20 April 2012 Posted 20 April 2012 There's obviously more to it than we've been told by the media, that has to kept under wraps in case of a appeal/re-trial. Otherwise Twitter and Facebook would be going bezerk with details and jeopardise future hearings.
