cc_star Posted 28 April 2012 Posted 28 April 2012 I think the Championship will be tougher next season. Wolves, Blackburn, QPR? Charlton etc... I fear we have missed a golden opportunity this season.. the team we put together, those clubs will be saying look at Leicester
Tommeh Posted 28 April 2012 Posted 28 April 2012 5 fantastic FA Cup games. Similar run in that added to a little more consistancy on the pitch plus continuety and patience in the both the boardroom and dugout next season, and I'll be happy.
ElbertTheFox Posted 29 April 2012 Posted 29 April 2012 last season's finish - 10th this year we spend 15 million finish - 9th spend the same amount this year and finish 8th
Danno Posted 29 April 2012 Posted 29 April 2012 last season's finish - 10th this year we spend 15 million finish - 9th spend the same amount this year and finish 8th Few more years and we will be promoted! Wooo
katieakita Posted 29 April 2012 Posted 29 April 2012 Going back before a lot of you can remember i couldnt understand how we had just escaped relegation to get to the play finals via a fantastic thumping of Cambridge Utd to be robbed by diver Speedie. Then to pick ourselves back up to get into another playoff final to be 3 -0 down score 3 in 11 minutes to again be robbed by a dodgy penalty why? So we could scrape into another play off final with a bunch of cloggers to beat Derby, ask anyone who followed the city around that time was it worth it. Hell it was. NP has bought in youngsters like Marshall and Drinkwater who i think we can all agree are good additions and an experienced no nonsense centre half in Morgan. Lets give him a pre season and stop knocking him. Just think the abuse that will come when he brings in the next Cleverly, Davies, Chester or Stewart a bit like when MON brought in some kid called Mustapha from Chelsea. So for me the season was a big let down but for me it gave us the chance for better next season and also it gave those around Coventry City their extra points to relegate Cov.. Also does anyone think we are ready for the premiership yet?
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 29 April 2012 Posted 29 April 2012 Seriously disappointing season. I cannot visualize us getting into the Premiership, for two to three years, and only then.if we create a side that will continually improve. Despite what people may think, I truly hope Pearson is up to the job, although I very much doubt it, and thus I see it taking that time to gain promotion. We need quality, flair, ambition, determination, and above all else, pulling on a Leicester shirt with a feeling of pride. Without all five of those qualities, we will remain average.
accessory Posted 30 April 2012 Posted 30 April 2012 form since Nigel back we're in the top 6. added more width, more young talent, we'll be fitter next season and waghorn sounded fantastic being the hold up player. Only if you exclude December's results.
chris_lcfc_85 Posted 30 April 2012 Posted 30 April 2012 I think we can all agree its been a poor season but now is time to move on.... Regardless of who comes up/comes down, its going to be majorly tough as it always is but with NP in charge, I feel we are in good hands.... Plus starting next season as maybe 7th or 8th favourite will take alot of pressure off us unlike last season where we were expected to win every game! We need to get stability like Swansea and Reading did in this league
MattyFromLE Posted 30 April 2012 Posted 30 April 2012 It is frustrating, as the expectation was raised so high at the start of the campaign. However. Against Leeds, when listening to the match we sounded hungry, Waghorn sounded like he showed some real grit and determination, and got a goal for his efforts. Vassell sounded sharp, and our 17 year old academy player of the season, scored ( deflected ) the ball into the net last minute. I'm not sure if it is the manner in which we won against Leeds, but I haven't felt that feeling of excitement since the last time Pearson was here. I am positive, that we will be contenders for promotion next season - but we have to work this summer, and build a team around Kasper, Morgan, Drinkwater, Marshall and Nugent as they have to be the spine of the squad next season I feel.
AyewJoking Posted 30 April 2012 Posted 30 April 2012 Fúcking ársehole of a season. Surprised we still had a chance (mathemactically) of the play-offs until a few games remaining. A lot of mediocre teams. Next season will be better, HAS to be.
MC Prussian Posted 30 April 2012 Posted 30 April 2012 Jeff Stelling summed it up nicely "£15 million spent and an improvement of only 1 place- a frustrating season for Leicester fans." £45 million more and we're right there, in sixth spot. EDIT: Which means, you CAN actually buy promotion (with a further £60 million). Piece of cake.

Out Foxed Posted 30 April 2012 Posted 30 April 2012 i'm glad we didn't make the playoffs. nothing about the team has been convincing. we'd get butt ****ed in the prem.
Capt Mainwaring Posted 30 April 2012 Posted 30 April 2012 9th would be OK if it was in the Prem, but in Div 1 it's not so good as the annual season challange has to be go up. Good thing seems to be that the owners (Yes I have watched my Free DVD) are sticking with it.
