Milton Keynes Fox Posted 28 April 2012 Posted 28 April 2012 Thoughts on finishing 9th? I'm obviously severely disappointed but we've got some positives for next season!
dog_4 Posted 28 April 2012 Posted 28 April 2012 form since Nigel back we're in the top 6. added more width, more young talent, we'll be fitter next season and waghorn sounded fantastic being the hold up player.
cc_star Posted 28 April 2012 Posted 28 April 2012 Frustrated to finish 9th, but optimistic for the future... no more fairytale circus of a pre-season... If the season started on Jan 1st, we would have been 6th, still disappointing compared to pre-season expectations, but a lot better position than it actually feels
Danno Posted 28 April 2012 Posted 28 April 2012 What teams were 7th and 8th? Can't seem to load up anything other than FT on my iphone.
Fox92 Posted 28 April 2012 Posted 28 April 2012 What teams were 7th and 8th? Can't seem to load up anything other than FT on my iphone. Middlesbrough and Hull
Milton Keynes Fox Posted 28 April 2012 Author Posted 28 April 2012 Disappointing obviously. Cheers for that insightful response
Libertine Dream Posted 28 April 2012 Posted 28 April 2012 An improvement of 1 from last year. Must be worth the money
Haydos Posted 28 April 2012 Posted 28 April 2012 Underwhelming at times. Disappointing. Poor. Lack of cutting edge. A lot of negatives but we've set a high bar for ourselves. Next season is a complete unknown again which has the potential to go anywhere really, I certainly wouldn't bet on where we'll finish. Another interesting summer to look forward to though. Onwards and upwards
acooling08 Posted 28 April 2012 Posted 28 April 2012 Annoyed - because at the start of the season I predicted 8th.
stourbridgefox Posted 28 April 2012 Posted 28 April 2012 Renewed for next season before the game. Really glad I did as feel about ready for the new season now. I suppose we've got the boring bit now though, where everyone is on holiday and there is no news whatsoever. Unless Pearson really does do his business early. On 9th, well, it's not what I was expecting after all the hype last Summer but on reflection, it's a springboard for next season. This game has created a nice, positive feel to the end of the season so let's hope we can build on that positivity in the Summer and we can have a proper go next year.
SaM 12 Posted 28 April 2012 Posted 28 April 2012 An improvement of 1 from last year. Must be worth the money yet 3 points less.
foxesfan1989 Posted 28 April 2012 Posted 28 April 2012 Well obviously it is crap. 6th was the bottom line for this season and we failed completely. On the day though we could finish between 9th and 14th and we finished 9th.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 28 April 2012 Posted 28 April 2012 If season had started in January we would have finished 6th so that does show improvement, just didnt improve quick enough. Encouraging for next season though.
Bryn Posted 28 April 2012 Posted 28 April 2012 A lot of negatives but some positives too, 9th is a solid finish. Obviously, not good enough given our expenditure but we clearly were mismanaged at the start of the season. I can't envisage a reason we won't be better next season, and we don't need to improve by much to make the playoffs.
Tielemans63 Posted 28 April 2012 Posted 28 April 2012 Jeff Stelling summed it up nicely "£15 million spent and an improvement of only 1 place- a frustrating season for Leicester fans."
Kitchandro Posted 28 April 2012 Posted 28 April 2012 Rubbish. Need to improve a lot and start next season well.
KFS Posted 28 April 2012 Posted 28 April 2012 Jeff Stelling summed it up nicely "£15 million spent and an improvement of only 1 place- a frustrating season for Leicester fans." Jeff Stelling, telling it how it is..
Corky Posted 28 April 2012 Posted 28 April 2012 It's not good enough, simple as. For the outlay on the squad top six should've been a minimum. And we've gone up a place on last year yet collected fewer points.
Guest Col city fan Posted 28 April 2012 Posted 28 April 2012 I think the Championship will be tougher next season. Wolves, Blackburn, QPR? Charlton etc... I fear we have missed a golden opportunity this season..
Cropwellfox Posted 28 April 2012 Posted 28 April 2012 I think the Championship will be tougher next season. Wolves, Blackburn, QPR? Charlton etc... I fear we have missed a golden opportunity this season.. Very much agree with this. Quite possible that Charlton and both sheffields will come up and knowing holloways luck we will have Birmingham, west ham and Cardiff to play next season too. It's going to be nails to get out of the division. Although What it might mean is that a load of teams will be taking points off each other all season, and maybe we will be better off not being talked about as top 6 certainties. Lots of big games though.
Raw Dykes Posted 28 April 2012 Posted 28 April 2012 I think the Championship will be tougher next season. Wolves, Blackburn, QPR? Charlton etc... I fear we have missed a golden opportunity this season.. I agree, but if there's any consolation, we have done alright against the better sides in the division this season.
