You're only chance is to hope he leaves his agent. Are you able to ask him to lower his wage demands? Although it's not likely to make much difference as long as that agent is there. You must've riled him up pretty bad for him to hate you. Hence why you shouldn't try to buy unrealistic targets or break off negotiations if you can actually make an offer that can be accepted (even if this means pulling out all the stops). You can always cancel the transfer later without taking the agent relationship hit. You probably left it too long until trying to negotiate a new contract with him and every subsequent time you've worsened it.

 

 

To be honest though, his value is nowhere near £9.25m. He shouldn't be able to command a fee over £7.5m

 

Not currently, but then he's currently refusing to discuss a new contract so that option may change in a few weeks. Well this is a 22 year old hitting 20 goals in Ligue 1 when he's not even a striker so I think he warrants over £10m. Doesn't look like we're going to be able to shift him any time soon anyway, guess we'll just have to hope for the best and try not to piss off his agent any more!

I'm just entering my 2nd season with Southampton. Let the head of development bring in the young lads and make offers but i confirm them as well as looking for young talent myself.

 

My youth intake include 4 gems. Three were strikers, 2 4.5 stars and 1 4 star and one DC 4.5 star. All are 16 or younger. I had Utd and Arsenal sniffing around 2 of them. So offered them pro deals. I'll put some screen shots on when i get home.

 

But with these joining Shaw and Ward Proswer the future looks bright. Also signed Woodrow from fulham as part of the Billy sharp deal. Sent him on loan to barnsley who got relegated. The lad played 43 and scored 20, He's 18 and a striker

Funny that, when I played in La Liga, my players' set values were very low but they sold like hot cakes - even at silly prices (I sold Jesus Corona, a fairly average mid table winger for 30m!)

 

Playing in Ligue 1 at the moment and my players all have inflated values but nobody wants to sign them, even on frees. Clearing the rubbish from my squad was impossible.

 

Who you managing? I quite like Ligue 1.

Left spurs at the top of the prem, just before half way through my second season to sort out Leicester. Spurs were sitting top, 7 points clear, and leicester were 12th just lost 5 on the trot, few key loan signings and some tactic tweaks wen't on a 22 game unbeaten run and won the league.

So now into August and need some decent forwards to go with knocky, got about 5m to spend and just sold king for 9.25m to cardiff

Sold Vada for £7.5m in December, only a few months after rejecting an offer of £11m

 

I've done some bad business in my time, but this maybe takes the biscuit. Got a decent replacement ready to sign for £3.9m, so at least that's something.

Resigned at CS Sedan. I was gradually losing interest, games had become a bit of a chore and I didn't really care anymore.

 

Instead, I've started a new game and returned to where it all began on FM. Lincoln City. I failed first time there when I got the game in September last year, failing to even get them out of the BSP, so I've decided to give it a go using the updated patch. I know the team as I've been following the club for the past couple of years, so I'm determined to do better than last time.

Slight change of plan, I was a bit premature and whilst I've landed Maher & Asamoah, Doumbia was subject of a late bid from Dortmund of all clubs and he's only gone and joined them, however Caicedo will be joining instead.

 

I'm still 2nd in January (I've bashed this game to an embarrassing extent lately, done 2 and a half seasons in about 2 weeks ), trying hard to sign Volland now.

I went through my 3rd season in charge of Þróttur in no time. We were 300/1 longshots in the title race according to the preseason odds, but we finished 2nd (and had a chance to overtake winners KR with a win at their place on the final day, but alas).

 

Fokking right I won Icelandic Manager of the Year.

 

I did play with wingers this year and actually wound up scoring the most goals in the league. 

 

Now, the board just announced they're spending $3.3m to expand the stadium from about 2200 seats to 4000. This after they said they couldn't relay the pitch because they couldn't afford to do it. Makes sense.

My U21's won the U19 Champions League with a squad for some reason largely made up of the Youth Candidates i'd got just a couple of days before, so I have a 14yr old who already has quite a major trophy. Anybody ever spectated youth team games before and found that you play with defenders up top and strikers in midfield and so on?

Didn't Ajax used to do that in real life? Have all youth squads playing 3-4-3 and rotate everyone in every position so they can all find where they feel most comfortable? Sure it was Bergkamp who said this, and he said playing as a centre half made him a far better striker.

Just been knocked out of the 'Champions' League by Man Utd, surprise surprise Kagawa gets both goals as they beat us 1-0 at their place in the 93rd min, and nick a 1-1 draw here in the 81st, quarter finals isn't a disgrace by any means.

 

Title race is quality and this game is probably my biggest since taking over Schalke;

Absolutely fvcking unbelievable. Following the Bayern game we've gone and drawn away at Nurnberg who had 12 points from 30 games.

 

And Bayern beat Leverkusen to go back on top.

 

Deserve to come second for that result alone. Disgraceful.

Have decided to do a fun game with Cambridge in the conference prem .. 

 

Deleted all their team on editor and applied the add players to playable teams button  and gave team a top youth team setup and a sugar daddy . So now i just rely off that, have already got some crackers coming through 

 

I took them up first year and am 5th after 34 games in league two but i'm ten points behind auto's so i think it will be playoff if all goes well 

 

this is my best player so far performance wise ,

 

 

 

Only real problem i'm having is a lot of my players get called up for there country's youth teams but i still have to play league games while they are away which results in me having to use my not so good youth team players .

 

Though i wouldn't  like it as it a little bit cheating but it's really fun .

Know what you mean. I'd love to have a game where I've pretty much produced my entire side but I honestly think no matter how good your youth system is it'll be nearly impossible to do that and win everything. I try and use youth players as much as possible and will generally put faith in them but you'll never get a whole team do it.

 

Finished my season. Absolutely shameful. We also drew at Bremen meaning from the 4 wins needed against midtable at best sides to confirm our title, we took 2 wins and 2 draws which is simply not good enough. To add insult to injury, Bayern also drew their final game meaning had we won either the Bremen or Nurnberg games, we'd have took the title. Justice was served though so no complaints. I expect at least the title next year though with Caicedo, Maher & Asamoah all coming in on frees. Want Salvio permanently too as he was fantastic on loan.

 

One plus, won the German Cup, hammering Hoffenheim 4-1 in the final. Had a horrible feeling Volland would go and add the final blow after I'd missed out in January, still looking at him though.

 

Should get a very decent budget next year with £125k a week Huntelaar leaving and overall, doing pretty well again.

I hate to break it to you but FM wing backs are still definitely defenders. You'd need to push them up to ML and MR to be true to yourself.

Hmm... I may just have to... It would mark a switch from 4-6-0 to 2-8-0

It's funny seeing it in action because every play starts off with the players all forming a cloud within 15 yards of the midfield line before players make quantum leaps forward or backward.

I've played 3 halves with it in league play and have out scored my opposition 4-2! Mind you, I'm not exactly playing Brazil's team from this past Sunday here, and I'm only using it for shits and giggles in situations where I can get away with it.

Really struggling now. Including two cup games, I've now gone 14 games without winning ... Only thing that has saved me from not touching the bottom three all season is the bottom three constantly losing.
