Guest MattP Posted 28 June 2012 Posted 28 June 2012 If he really wanted to raise standards across the board, he would have to invest vast sums of money to reduce class sizes, employ more well trained teachers, provide more facilities as well as reforming the exam system. This won't happen. The top students will continue to do well and the rest will be left further behind. I don't think there's a single person in the country who wouldn't want to see those things. Finding the money to do it however.....
MooseBreath Posted 28 June 2012 Posted 28 June 2012 How can i compete with your superior intellect and contribution - might have to utilise my cockblocker, because <yawn> you are genuinely a ****ing idiot. Nobody has any respect for anything you say after you have been shown to be someone who can't even play by his own rules. Do yourself a favour and leave this thread. You're making yourself look like an unbelievable twat.
Jon the Hat Posted 28 June 2012 Posted 28 June 2012 It's gone downhill in here since I bowed out. On another note I am now doing my bit for the state education systems by not putting my daughter into it. To add to the NHS which I am not relying on for very much these days. Next up I am thinking about have a whip round to tarmac the roads surfaces around my way seeing as the budget seems to have been spent exclusively on the Olympic cycle route. Its not like the old days when we had proper Tories in charge. This lot are a bunch of wimps.
Daggers Posted 28 June 2012 Posted 28 June 2012 Can you answer post 251 first please Drags? I freelance. Now...you said "I think Gove is doing some good things from what I have read so far, like I said the key thing appears to be he wants to raise standards and that's what we need." What good things has he done to improve education in England and Wales? What standards need raising? Why do we need those standards raising. Please support your conjecture with someone else's opinion who actually knows something about education. Are you sure you're not having problems understanding this and just stalling for time?

I'm already in Private Health care and wouldnt put my children into state schools either, very wise choice. You are completely correct, this so called compassionate Convervatism isn't going to work. Let's just hope for an outright majority next time.

Daggers Posted 28 June 2012 Posted 28 June 2012 I've seen some of the basic revision some 15 year olds do now and it Hmm... It all seems to be coming clearer with every analysis.
Daggers Posted 28 June 2012 Posted 28 June 2012 Has he taken your pension away? Not unless you know something I don't.

Daggers Posted 28 June 2012 Posted 28 June 2012 Chop chop, Matt... "I think Gove is doing some good things from what I have read so far, like I said the key thing appears to be he wants to raise standards and that's what we need." What good things has he done to improve education in England and Wales? What standards need raising? Why do we need those standards raising. Referencing stuff is big and clever, people will respect you for it in the morning.

Good answer, excellent. I'm on a mobile here so in short it appears from what I read into the reforms he intends to toughen up exams, and give staff more power to discipline pupils. Sonething we all know is necessary. I like the idea of only making the NC the basis of part of the day, teachers should using some initiative and imagination in teaching, not reading out of a book for 7 hours. I love more sport, I love the fact he wants to introduce poetry and culture to primary schools, I love the fact he wants to start them learning another language at thd age of five, it's a huge shame that some of the wonderful poets and artists of this nations past are not taught to your children unless you have the money to send them private. I don't see why just the rich should get that privilege. Will he actually get this through? Probably not and kids will still be more likely to have textbooks thrust upon them rather than the works of Shakespeare or William Frost. (which I'm sure I'd have loved at 11) Hmm... It all seems to be coming clearer with every analysis. I'm on an iPhone you pedantic twat.
Guest MattP Posted 28 June 2012 Posted 28 June 2012 Not unless you know something I don't. Wow, you are a very lucky man if your pension hasn't been touched.

All of that is potentially very good, especially the languages part, I also agree with only having one national exam board, and not being tied to the nc. But none of that will come to any fruition if he doesn't tackle the biggest issues which are still class sizes too big, not enough quality teachers and equipment. But of course the cuts are going to impact schools as well as everything else.
Daggers Posted 28 June 2012 Posted 28 June 2012 Did you even bother to think about what you were writing Matt or read it through before clicking 'post'? I'm on a mobile here Thanks for sharing but totally irrelevant. he intends to toughen up exams, and give staff more power to discipline pupils. Wrong. You said “I think Gove is doing some good things” not “ideas of Gove’s I like that he won’t implement in the future”. Sonething we all know is necessary. “We”? Who the fvck is “we”? I like the idea of only making the NC the basis of part of the day, teachers should using some initiative and imagination in teaching, not reading out of a book for 7 hours. Stop it you daft moron, stop it before my sides split. You genuinely know fvck all about anything. No source for this at all, not a bit, because it is a pile of steaming shit. You really are the mental bloke I see screaming at the church clock in his underwear, aren’t you? I love more sport, I love the fact he wants to introduce poetry and culture to primary schools, I love the fact he wants to start them learning another language at thd age of five, it's a huge shame that some of the wonderful poets and artists of this nations past are not taught to your children unless you have the money to send them private. I don't see why just the rich should get that privilege. More baseless bollocks – nothing to do with what he’s done, nothing related to any research or published articles. I'm on an iPhone you pedantic twat. I’m not sure anyone gives a fvck about your brand preference but if it is a “well-done” you are after for being able to use a phone then give yourself a pat on the back you amazing retard, you. You carry on waving the flag for special kids on the train. ------------------------------------------------------------- So, you still haven't answered the very, very, very simple questions linked to your forthright statement: "I think Gove is doing some good things from what I have read so far, like I said the key thing appears to be he wants to raise standards and that's what we need." What good things has he done to improve education in England and Wales? What standards need raising? Why do we need those standards raising. Of course, I'm starting to get bored asking you to reference sources to support your argument - I'm guessing this is proving very tough for you so just tell me how clean your window is in the carriage instead.

Guest MattP Posted 28 June 2012 Posted 28 June 2012 I do apologise, I should have said "I'm pleased Michael Gove is trying to implement some changes into an education system in need of some serious reform". I can't wait to meet you, I bet you are an absolute hoot. I'm not going to bother anymore, I seem to get on with everyone else in this place without having all sorts of insults thrown at me and that's something I can't tolerate, insults you wouldn't dare throw at me in front of my face, you're a very bright guy but unfortunately a keyboard warrior, nothing more, nothing less.
FoxyPV Posted 28 June 2012 Posted 28 June 2012 I don't think there's a single person in the country who wouldn't want to see those things. Finding the money to do it however..... Get rid of Trident.
Guest MattP Posted 28 June 2012 Posted 28 June 2012 Get rid of Trident. Always found it an interesting alternative put forward but I don't know anywhere near enough about it, it worries me that only the Lib Dems back it and it's actually something Labour and the Tories both agree on in keeping it. It's a pretty unstable world, what's the main reasons both of the major political parties back keeping it?
Guest MattP Posted 28 June 2012 Posted 28 June 2012 Game, set and fvcking match. Get back to your freelancing, wouldn't want to see you on here in a few years time with 75,000 posts to your name.
I am Rod Hull Posted 28 June 2012 Posted 28 June 2012 Go and feed your chickens you fcuking bum. That would make a great sig.
