Out Foxed Posted 2 August 2012 Posted 2 August 2012 If we ever have that nuclear holocaust and go back to using bow and arrows. South Korea will take over the world.
purpleronnie Posted 2 August 2012 Posted 2 August 2012 Looks like we might be disqualified from the womens cycling...after looking like we were guarenteed silver.
Captain... Posted 2 August 2012 Posted 2 August 2012 Looks like we might be disqualified from the womens cycling...after looking like we were guarenteed silver. Really is confusing, would we be relegated to the bronze medal race? It is stupid, we won the semi comfortably there was no need to mess up the change over, if we did, but it seems such a pointless dq, if it is, as it clearly didn't affect the result.

Its a bit of a mess isnt it? No-one was going to beat china but someone said they might be dq'ed aswell...if they are we would have got gold no question. If we get relegated and so do china then we wont get amedal. What makes it even worse is its a possible german v aussie final.

Rules are rules mate. I'd assume we'd be fully disqualified, not relegated. That does seem a harsh rule considering the infringement.
Haydos Posted 2 August 2012 Posted 2 August 2012 "Britain's Victoria Pendleton and Jess Varnish have been relegated in the women's team sprint and will not contest a medal ride, officials have confirmed." That's the official word from the BBC
Guest MattP Posted 2 August 2012 Posted 2 August 2012 Very frustrating, were odds on for a gold there and it's taken away.
Haydos Posted 2 August 2012 Posted 2 August 2012 Very frustrating, were odds on for a gold there and it's taken away. I thought China were a good match after bettering the WR. Were they actually odds on? Like you say though, very frustrating, such a careless mistake.
purpleronnie Posted 2 August 2012 Posted 2 August 2012 Very frustrating, were odds on for a gold there and it's taken away. China were much faster werent they? But defiantely silver, really tough, but its a stupid mistake.
BoneDog Posted 2 August 2012 Posted 2 August 2012 The North Koreans and Chinese have been bossing the weightlifting. Loads of OR's and WR's have been going too. Gets going again tomorrow with the heavier lifters. Edit : How could I forget to mention Michael Jamieson in the 200m breaststroke final. Superb. He got silver and beat the OR time but obviously so did the guy who won gold. So close to a gold and Jamieson was only 0.12 seconds off the pre-race WR. Pre-race records : 2.07.31 WR 2.07.64 OR Jamieson finished in 2.07.42 :ldn2012:

Northants Fox 3 Posted 2 August 2012 Posted 2 August 2012 The Chinese girls have been disqualified as well, for exactly the same reason as the British girls So it's now the German pair who win gold Hmmmm it seems the Chinese pair will get the Silver Medal....Looks like one of them was throwing her toy out the pram and appeared to be marching out of the Velodrome may be wrong but that how it looked
Northants Fox 3 Posted 2 August 2012 Posted 2 August 2012 Another Gold for team GB in the Velodrome and in a WR time
Leicester_Numan Posted 2 August 2012 Posted 2 August 2012 Another Gold for team GB in the Velodrome and in a WR time Brilliant ride
Guest Bilo Posted 2 August 2012 Posted 2 August 2012 Absolutely staggering to watch that, it's so satisfying to watch a British team dominate like that. Must be disheartening as hell for their competitors when Team GB are on that kind of form.
Super_horns Posted 2 August 2012 Posted 2 August 2012 Good to see the medals rolling in now..the atmosphere and morale really has improve it seems in the press.
