Jimothy Posted 5 August 2012 Posted 5 August 2012 Ben Ainslie gold in the Finn Sailing. Ian Percy and Andrew Simpson silver in the Star sailing.
ScouseFox Posted 5 August 2012 Posted 5 August 2012 Ben fúcking Ainslie yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! :worship:
Craig Posted 5 August 2012 Posted 5 August 2012 Precisely, the bottle, dedication, humility and passion shown by our athletes over the past week has actually made me question my own enthusiasm for football with its multi-millionaire talentless mercenaries, corrupt billionaire owners and officials, BSkyB and the Premier League's monopoly over the games future in this country, £40 match tickets, corporate domination in the stands, the rich getting richer whilst the small are strangled out of existence etc etc etc etc etc. This is exactly what I've been feeling these past few days.
Jimothy Posted 5 August 2012 Posted 5 August 2012 Andy Murray wins gold in the men's singles tennis! Would you believe it!
Leicester_Numan Posted 5 August 2012 Posted 5 August 2012 Can you believe Murray just wiped Federer out to win gold? Amazing!
Tielemans63 Posted 5 August 2012 Posted 5 August 2012 Louis Smith was extremely unlucky to miss out on a gold. Same score as the Gold medallist.
Out Foxed Posted 5 August 2012 Posted 5 August 2012 could have had 2 more golds louis and the sailors v. unlucky
Leicfox Posted 6 August 2012 Posted 6 August 2012 Gold in the Team Show Jumping. :ldn2012: I can't believe I'm saying this but that was quite exciting to watch.
AoWW Posted 6 August 2012 Posted 6 August 2012 I can't believe I'm saying this but that was quite exciting to watch.
Super_horns Posted 6 August 2012 Posted 6 August 2012 Easily going to beat our medal total from 2008...to think some were worried we wouldn't get near it.
purpleronnie Posted 6 August 2012 Posted 6 August 2012 Only 11 more golds needed to overtake the Americans. Its insane that were as close as we are now. Compare the population, compare the funding....our performances have been amazing.
Super_horns Posted 6 August 2012 Posted 6 August 2012 I agree. Too true..as somebody pointed out elsewhere footballers get paid regardless of performances or results whereas these guys would get funding dropped for failing or in a competitive squad like our cyclists dumped for a replacement.
Northants Fox 3 Posted 7 August 2012 Posted 7 August 2012 Gold for Team GB in the men's Triathlon as well as a Bronze (the Brownlee brothers)
AoWW Posted 7 August 2012 Posted 7 August 2012 Gold for Team GB in the men's Triathlon ...and Bronze, too
Northants Fox 3 Posted 7 August 2012 Posted 7 August 2012 was that expected? good show. They did say in commentary the brothers usually finish 1 & 2 or 1 & 3 And that Gold means they equal Beijing
goose2010 Posted 7 August 2012 Posted 7 August 2012 There're the best in the world but Alistair who won has been injured for most of the season so pretty insane that he has just won gold and Jonny had a 15 second time penalty so getting bronze was impressive as well! I cant believe how well we are doing fantastic for summer for the country if you ask me!
