AND IS THERE A PANTHER ON THE LOOSE TOO?

A panther has been spotted on the loose in the Cotswolds today.

Kieran Bourne, 30, said he was convinced he saw a big cat in his headlights as he made his way home across Cleeve Hill in the early hours of this morning.

He nearly collided with the animal by the side of the road, swerved, and saw it pounce into the bushes and disappear.

Mr Bourne, who contacted a big cat expert after the sighting, believed it was the same creature which shocked residents in fields at Winchcombe, near Cheltenham, in April.

He said: ‘It looked at me from the side of the road. I was coming round quite a sharp bend from Winchcombe up the hill to Cleeve Hill and it was on the left hand side of the road in my main beam – I nearly hit it.

‘It was the size of a large dog, about 2.5ft high and about 4ft long with a U-shaped tail curled upwards.

‘I swerved to the right to make sure I didn’t hit it and it pounced into the bushes.

‘I’m now 100 per cent sure it was a big black cat, with no markings on. It’s out there.’

Panicked man running towards family yelled: 'It's a f****** lion!'

Family playing backgammon in front room heard very loud roar

Superb!

'It was one million per cent a lion. It was a tan colour with a big mane, it was fully grown, it was definitely a lion. It was just standing there, it seemed to be enjoying itself.'

1,000,000% a lion? So 10,000 times more of a lion than a single lion? Fvck, there's loads of 'em! That or it's MASSIVE.

Could well be a Panther, there has been many Panther sightings down the Great Central Way over the last couple of years, were also rumours of a Wallaby running loose near Aylestone a couple of years ago.

And that is not a lie either.

There have been hundreds of black cat sightings. My mate saw one about ten years ago between Sileby and Seagrave. He was interviewed on Radio Leicester about it!

There has been a sighting, or two, in my home town as well. People used to say it was a Panther. Though I've never understood how it managed to get here considering I live near Sheffield.

Some years ago my wife and I saw a puma/mountain lion a few miles outside stratford upon avon. We watched it for a few minutes as it walked along the edge of a field and then disappeared through a gap in the hedgerow. I wanted to try and follow it but the wife wasn't too keen

Turns out there were other big cat sightings in the area. I think private collectors either release them or lose them

Anybody hear the Police man talking about the investigation on the radio? Can't remember what he said exactly, but something along the lines of "we've had to call the search off, although I personally believe there is a big animal, such as a Panther or even a Puma, out there'.

Pretty sure I heard him say that, which is interesting if true.

(I may have heard wrong though )

Lion search called off as Police find no evidence.

There could still be one though.

Yea.

And there's a monster in Loch Ness, a Sasquatch up a Pacific Northwest mountain and a god in the heavens.

Who needs evidence?!

But is there a yeti up the Himalayas?

I reckon some gangster set it onto someone in his back garden for a laugh but the lion wasn't hungry and jumped the fence and legged it into the countryside.

I bet they've re-caught it by now with the help of one of those vet rifles with syringe bullets.

Panic over.

I thinks it pretty much accepted that Britan has a panther and large cat society. I've actually seen one myself in my mates garden in Hinckley. Bloody scary, but fortunately it was more scared of us than us of it and bolted.

I logged it on the Leicestershire Panther Watch website, there was loads of sightings around Burbage common area for the people familiar with Hinckley. Also the fields by the M69 in and around Burbage / Hinckley.

Edit - I've found the website for anyone who's interested. They have some archived reports - you may find something near you, best to use CTRL F

There was a bunch of sightings around Measham and Ashby a few years back. There's also been a few documented cases of pumas and lynxs being killed or caught. One of them even made it into Cricklewood...now behind bars at London Zoo :D
