Considering buying an old (like me) 80s stereo system to play my old vinyls on.

Will i be disappointed in the sound quality after years of cd/mp3 quality?

If it's a half decent one it'll sound fine. Analog sound with the right set is arguably better than digital.

If you buying second hand buy Technics, something like this can be bought for less than 100 quid

Technics SL-D202 Direct Drive - Catawiki

Went record fair yesterday and picked up The Beatles' 'Past Masters' for £15! Bargain.

I can never find any Blur though. I've only got Parklife, which I got for a good price, but their other albums are highly priced or rare. I never see them.

Yeah, first editions Blur/Oasis are ridiculously expensive! I just always see more Oasis vinyl than I do Blur.

I bought modern life is rubbish ten years ago (first edition) for 17 euros

What's it like in France? Do you have plenty of record shops? When I went to New York last year I wanted to get some sort of import but only went in a couple record shops and couldn't really find anything I wanted.

PS I do wanna visit parts of France, including Bordeaux. Never been to the Country at all.

There are very few record shops in France. For fact in Bordeaux there are maybe 4-5 but really the best one is "Total Heaven"

I will go this saturday as it's record store day again!

I know there are some very good ones in Paris too like "Ground Zero" and "Ballades Sonores"....

If you ever plan to come to Bordeaux one day give me a shout! I'll be happy to meet you and share a few beers!

Well, put together a nice little system...

Yamaha Amp

Technics EQ

Kenwood Tuner

LG (not very good) CD

Akai Turntable

Really enjoying the sounds, every pop crackle and note  :)

So disappointed that i got rid of hundreds of albums back in the day.. nevermind.. something to search for now i guess :)
