I'm 22 but i bought an under 22 ticket at £19 which is alot for me when i take into account the beer and taxis which often come in hand in hand with the football. It's fair to say we are now a championship team, maybe the prices should reflect the standard of football. If it was £20 or less per game for an adult ticket i don't think people would grumble so much but with people saying over £30 for an adult ticket its just an outrage. In summary this is not a working class sport anymore, make the game affordable again and see the stadium fill up and the atmosphere return. Obviously whoever is in charge of the clubs finances deems it better to have a half empty stadium with more often than not little atmosphere.

I tend to get a beer or two at a pub before the game, I don't buy food at the ground and take a bag of sweets or whatever in with me. The ticket prices themselves are IMO insanely expensive now, but when I see families with kids leaving early before the half time whistle to go and queue and spend another fortune on hot dogs, crisps and pop it does make me wonder whether people have more money than sense.

Must have only been about 15-18k, the kop was the thinnest I've ever seen it. Obviously Burnley didn't bring many, which worsened the atmsophere further. It was one of those games where for long periods you could hear exactly what the players were shouting. It did pick up for a little spell after we went 2-1 up, but the nerves and booing resumed when we were under the kosh with about 10 minutes to go. Not having a go at anybody because I know how tight money is at the moment, but it really was a poor showing tonight. I noticed from reading back the match thread that a lot of 'main' posters weren't there either. Can't normally make midweeks, will be there on Sunday though, in a bigger crowd I reckon. Anyway, we had a similar crowd for Blackpool and the atmosphere was decent.

Over 30 quid sometimes for 90 minutes of football. Im sure you could get a prostitute for less and have more fun! The prices need to come down or as others have said, on games that are midweek etc, or part of 2 home games in 7 days where alot of people CANT afford to shell out for that, special ticketing prices need to come in.

The atmosphere of many stadiums has dwindled at the same time that costs have risen to provide a match day experience that often does not represent value for money for those that must count every penny. When average footballers are earning more in a week than many fans earn in a year it is little wonder they feel disillusioned with the game they once loved. Football is short changing its own fan base and that looks likely to continue unabated for the foreseeable future and it is hardly surprising that attendances are dwindling nationwide.

The majority are season ticket holders that attended it would be interesting to know how many purchased match tickets that will probably give an indication, of what is currently wrong with charging inflated ticket prices

This is where is pays to be a season ticket holder as I wouldn't have forked that out, especially after coming out from a loss at wolves. Think they need to revise their mid week pricing strategy as I don't think going expensive is the answer. The attendance 18,480 must include all season ticket holders and a fair few of them did not bother turning up, probably no more than 16.500 or so actually there, my estimate of course but as poor as I have seen in the last 4 years......
ScouseFox Posted 20 September 2012 Posted 20 September 2012 I've never been able to make midweeks because of school/work/train times, but now I'm out of school I decided this season I'd try and make full use of my ST and get to midweek games. I had nothing on yesterday and nothing on today so could have gone and stayed over at family and come back today quite comfortably. But I just couldn't be bothered. It's not been fun going for quite a while, it's usually very boring, in fact. It feels like a depressing, soulless place and experience. I often feel that in travelling 3 hours on 3 different trains I've put in a million times more effort than all the players combined on a match day. I'll be there on Sunday but that's just as much to do with the fact that I see family in Leicester some weekends and I've got an ST so may as well go. Can't say I'm massively "looking forward" to it like I, and loads of others on here used to. Then again, it could be like our last home game vs Hull which was great fun, sun was shining, decent crowd, great atmosphere, performance and result. Who knows. That's why we keep on going, I guess.

Even season ticket holders have to flash their cards at the card reader. I would assume that the attendance is the number of 'flashers' on the night?

But I can't recollect seeing the ground as empty for a league game.

If it looks like the turn out will be shit, do £10 a ticket or something. When the ground is so empty and quiet, it really isn't a good environment for our players to do well. Let's make up for it on Sunday!! No. Selling tickets for peanuts for unpopular mid-week games is just a foolish way to irritate season-ticket holders who have already paid more than that for their seat, and months in advance of the season. What is the point of people committing to a ST if they know only six games into the season the club are already going to start halving the prices? I agree the price of tickets is too high. Personally I think tickets in this division should cost £20 for adults, £15 for Under-22s, for all games, and I'd get rid of 'Fans' Fixtures'. If the club wants to reduce this a bit for mid-week games, then fine. But it needs to be done as part of a cohesive ticket price plan, so that everyone knows where they stand. In any case, I don't think we have a divine right to get crowds of 24k when we aren't playing good football, we're in the Second Division, and the opposition bring only a couple of hundred. I just think that's being overly optimistic.

If you've attended them all you get the equivalent of a season ticket price. If you've attended none you pay full price. Everyone else pays something in the middle. Could add in an incentive to go to crap games by making the discount earned by seeing crap games higher. So people could think along the lines of, if I go to forest for £30, ill get derby for £25, and because they're both crap games that means I'll get Blackburn for £15.
