Steven Posted 15 July 2005 Share Posted 15 July 2005 A preview of the Lillestrom game from the OS. Lillestrom PreviewLillestrom vs Leicester City New signing Patrik Gerrbrand looks set to make his Leicester City bow when the Foxes take on Lillestrom SK on Saturday (ko 16:00 GMT). Craig Levein's men go into the pre-season friendly fixture having despatched of fellow Norwegian League side Bodo Glimt 5-1 on Thursday evening. The Leicester boss looks set to make a number of changes for the match following the return of a clutch of key players from injury and Gerrbrand's arrival. But Levein is keeping his cards close to his chest as City look to round of their two-game tour with another victory. He said: "I am hopeful that Patrik Gerrbrand will take in some of the action. He will join up with us on the day of the game and we will assess the situation then. "Dion Dublin, Danny Tiatto and Stephen Hughes could also feature. All three have had niggling little injuries but should be okay for the game." Mark de Vries could make way for Dublin, while James Wesolowski looks set to be rested after playing the full 90-minutes in midweek. He added: "James is still only a young lad and he was out on his feet after the Bodo game. "The friendly gives us another chance to take a look at some of our newer players, although we haven't finalised the line up at the moment." City squad: Douglas, Henderson, Maybury, Gerrbrand, Kisnorbo, Hughes, McCarthy, Johansson, Sheehan, Stearman, Wesolowski, Williams, Gudjonsson, Sylla, Wilcox, Tiatto, O'Grady, Connolly, de Vries, Dublin. It will be more of a challenge than the last game hopefully. Give the lads a bit of test, prove that they can play well game after game.

Mark Posted 16 July 2005 Share Posted 16 July 2005 O'Grady and Dublin up front? Levein may give chance to Dublin-O'Grady strike forceLeicester City hope to round off their Norwegian trip in style when they take on Lillestrom tonight. Newcomer Patrik Gerrbrand will start the game in the centre of defence as manager Craig Levein rings a few changes from Thursday night's 5-1 win over Bodo Glimt. Although a repeat of that score is unlikely against tonight's stronger opposition, Levein hopes to have Stephen Hughes, Danny Tiatto and Dion Dublin all available again after niggling injuries. But summer signing Patrick Kisnorbo is still frustratingly short of full fitness and may miss out again. Having seen David Connolly and Mark de Vries star with two goals each on Thursday, Levein may opt to give a new front pairing some on-pitch time with young Chris O'Grady and veteran Dublin the obvious ones to feature. Levein said: "Results don't matter too much. It is about getting players settled into what we want them to do. "It went well in the first game and the hope is that it will be good again. "We have got plenty more games coming up in pre-season but it would be nice to come back home with two wins from the trip." After confirming Gerrbrand's signing yesterday, Levein had hoped he might complete another one or two arrivals in time to join up for tonight's game. They have not happened yet but he expects action on that front to hot up again in the next few days and is hopeful of some positive news before the glamour clash with Celtic at the Walkers Stadium on Tuesday. That game will represent a first chance for the supporters to see the new faces which will form the basis of City's squad. The Scots are always an attraction and will be again, even though Martin O'Neill is not leading them, and City fans are eager to see the sort of formation that Levein aims to adopt. The team spirit from the Norway trip has been well forged and now the set-up is hoping to take everything a stage further.
