Pearson telling Stringer exactly how he feels

Just watched the extended interview on FoxesPlayer, and I hope Stringer does follow through and attempt to get this journalist on air to scrutinise his sources. Having this bullshit thrown at the club from all walks of the national media is an easy story for the rags, but deeply destabilising to the club as a whole. As he is essentially the link between local and national media for the club, Stringer - like the fans - can't exactly ignore the sabre-rattling coming out of every red-top under the Sun (see what i did there?). If Ian was to lead something of a fightback, and question some of these 'sources' as he suggested in the video interview, he'd surely win a lot of people over.

Also, think Pearson hit the nail on the head when he said the following to Ian;

"You and me have one thing in common, people think we're both Marmite." :P

But if they do the story is kept alive,

"Leicester owners deny link to Redknapp, despite weeks of speculation the owners of Leicester City football club finally made a statement, denying any contact had been had with Harry Redknapp, the best English manager in the world, and that unsurprisingly they were still backing the current manager. They have given NP the dreaded vote of confidence, and refused to comment on whether they would approach Redknapp should the managerial position become vacant, all they would say is that they have a lot of respect for a man with Redknapp's record in English football, and they don't expect him to be out of work for very long. Read into that what you will, Harry refused to be drawn directly on the speculation, but said that he had a lot of respect for the "Thai revolution" at the King Power stadium, and would seriously consider any firm offers made to him from Leicester City, or any other clubs, the odds on Harry's next club being Leicester have been shortened dramatically overnight."

I don't care if they have said it in public all I care is that they said it to NP, by the sounds of it he is not concerned by this speculation, so I am not either.

Pearson didn't sound unconcerned to me he said he tried hard not to be concerned which is a completely different thing. Every way you read the comments it seems like the Thais and Redknapp are being less than straightforward and that there has been an in-principle approach of some kind.

The whole thing stinks of a total lack of integrity.

Yes, we had an iffy start but after a succession of games we might well have won and by playing the kind of football this club has so desperately needed for years.

If the Thais couldn't see this and have gone sneaking around behind Pearson's back instead of being out front supporting him then they're like soldiers who leave their wounded colleagues on the battlefield and I can't think of any word to adequately describe my disgust. at least any word I'd like to be associated with.

But if I were Pearson i'd be tempted to offer them the chance to pay up my contract tomorrow. Because if they have behaved in such a way they can't be trusted and I'd doubt the relationship will never mend.

Why? Because is that what they're going to do every time our team suffers a minor setback? Either you believe in a manager or you don't and if you do belioeve in someone you do so after careful observation and on the basis of appreciating a whole stack of things about the way he works and behaves.

Those things don't change overnight. Had Pearson presided over a series of shit performances I might have had some sympathy for the owners "having a chat" and insisting that standards had to improve and quickly.

But our football was a pleasure to watch and you don't go behind people's backs even if it hadn't been. It's like being the school snitch.

If the Thais have gone behind NP's back than I cannot imagine NP will stay much longer or will he?, it was for this very reason he left in the first place when Sousa was seen on the premises, if their is a lack of trust between the owners and NP how can that relationship work, but I imagine NP is solely focused on the squad and behind the scenes whatever goes on won't affect the team and his preparation for the matches taking place.

Even if they put Harry in they would be insane to believe they could hold him for the length of his contract as the first Prem club in the South to sack their manager will come calling and he would be off quicker than the proverbial.

They did this to Sven and it was wrong, if they do it to Pearson without giving him his own full season with a preseason they are insane.

These rumours did start when we had just lost 4 out of 5 games, its no wonder the owners would have checked to see who was available to avoid a situation of being manager less for weeks again like after Sven left. I'm sure if they knew Pearson was going to turn it round win 3 games in a row and be 1 point off top then they wouldn't have bothered

I think this has been going on longer, since the end of last season. Not the Redknapp thing but looking for, and sounding out an alternative.

Don't know if yhis has been posted but the video of the interview is on foxes player. Nigel has a smile on his face and most of his comments are very much tongue in cheek. The whole thing has been blown out of all proportion on here.

IMO, Nigel is a mardy git and likes to think everyone's against him - especially "the media".

Stringer is an excitable fan and loves a story - I don't mind his attitude generally, but I think he overstepped it asking this question. You don't ask the manager about rumours he may be sacked - he would be the last to know and I would probably get the hump in Pearson's shoes. Stringer needs to remember he is a local radio journalist and not auditioning for Sky Sports News or The Sun.

It's fine that he has the balls to ask difficult questions, he just needs to pick the right ones for the right people. If he sticks to questions Pearson knows about or could give an insight - which I think includes transfers as well as team and tactical decisions - then fine. I think their problem (if they do have one) stems from Stringer trying to second guess or scoop on signings by reporting them early. A forgivable mistake for a fan, but at the end of the day he has a job with Radio Leicester and is in something of a position of trust with the Club that shouldn't be overlooked.
