Nick Posted 8 October 2012 Posted 8 October 2012 He looks like "he's out" to me. In so many ways actually upon reflection.
skinnydipper Posted 8 October 2012 Posted 8 October 2012 Given the thread title I'm just glad it's not Signwriting
BMR Posted 9 October 2012 Posted 9 October 2012 We sell hundreds of items on ebay, visted your page but it doesnt really say much, just what is your idea ? Always looking to cut ebay overheads.
hbkkids Posted 9 October 2012 Author Posted 9 October 2012 We sell hundreds of items on ebay, visted your page but it doesnt really say much, just what is your idea ? Always looking to cut ebay overheads. Basically you can sell to us or trade / sell with other users. And no eBay fees.
Monk Posted 9 October 2012 Posted 9 October 2012 Ebay's business model is kinda fee based... So not sure how you think this is going to make money as a business... Unless you're basically setting it up as a pawn shop style business, but then you'll leave yourself massively open to risk. Do you have a website for it yet?
Jon the Hat Posted 9 October 2012 Posted 9 October 2012 Credibility wise it would help if you could spell business.

Making one tonight... And it is like a pawn shop
hbkkids Posted 11 October 2012 Author Posted 11 October 2012 anyone got anything to sell then? we are paying 1/2 postage this week!
Fox92 Posted 12 October 2012 Posted 12 October 2012 I don't get it either... You will have to buy products for cheaper prices from people in order to make a profit. But, you are also paying for postage as well. Nobody likes eBay fees, but that is one of the way's they make money. Also, how will you sell products back on? Millions of people have facebook, but how many of them are willing to buy things from facebook? I take it thats how this idea works, considering you've probably not got a store. I'm not sure if this will take off. I use eBay to sell, but if I didn't, surely it's easier for me to walk into town and sell something to one of those cash exchange shops?
whoareyaaa Posted 12 October 2012 Posted 12 October 2012 Good idea but I think the business is flawed, I think you will do OK for local areas but eBay is so hassle free I don't think people mind paying the fees, the fact that eBay has millions of targeted traffic also helps. If you're plan is to buy stuff of people and then list it on eBay yourself then again you will not make any profit simply because of the fees and time invloved. Good luck though!
kylestyle06 Posted 14 October 2012 Posted 14 October 2012 If this guy gets anywhere with this I will walk around naked for a week. This will not work, having a sudden idea and making a Facebook page on something that isn't thought through is quite literally embarrassing. I wouldn't waste your time fella !!!
kylestyle06 Posted 14 October 2012 Posted 14 October 2012 The more I look at that page the more embarrassing it is. Ill sell you a iPhone for £100.00. You gonna pay upfront?
Orkneyfox Posted 14 October 2012 Posted 14 October 2012 It would be better for the folk on here, if not for the OP if there was a local community sales/swap page. There may already be one? We have one here, no fees involved, just free advertising of what you want to shift. https://www.facebook...itplace?fref=ts -p.s. that is the correct spelling, it is meant to be market (merkit) in local accent! Here is one of my favourite adds from it: Wanted, large bag of scallops/clams will swap for a bottle of Highland Park. There are rules, no commercial advertising. Don't put up lots of pics, put a link to an album instead etc. otherwise seems to work fine. Rather like the small ads in the Mercury but without the fee.. You can also advertise for things you want.
lavrentis Posted 15 October 2012 Posted 15 October 2012 Kids getting far too much abuse but yea this won't work
