skinnydipper Posted 22 December 2012 Posted 22 December 2012 In the spirit of foxestalk in 2012 I would like to wish everyone happy holidays, but feel I should add the express caveat that anyone who wishes not to be happy or anyone who is not taking a holiday need not take my greetings as an attempt to impose my culture and lifestyle upon their own. Frankly I am somewhat disturbed by the liberal use of the word "christmas" in this thread as it will surely offend some members who do not celebrate Christmas for whatever reason. The use of the term will certainly be oppressive to those who wish to enjoy the forum in the next few weeks without having a particular religious celebration rammed down their throats. I would ask people tone down their celebrations and perhaps better not to make them public at all. At the very least please use "happy holidays" as a greeting. I take offence at the use if the word "happy". For goodness sake, try and be sensitive to the manic depressives for whom it's a particularly difficult time of year.
