The Year Of The Fox Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 Cheers, good to know that there's an slternative to the hotel if required
Zingari Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 Anyone ever been to the Corfu Panorama hotel in Sidari? Thoughts if so...? I've been to Sidari, not that hotel though. I think the one we stayed at was called the "3 kings" or something . Sidari seemed a bit scruffy to me , the streets were just like tracks rather than proper roads ( it was about 10 years ago though)
Vardinhio Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 Just back from Malia with mates, tickets and accomodation £530 and spanked £400 through the week. Seems an expensive place to go. Brilliant for: 18,19 year old British Girls Terrible for: Anything Greek Came back with a mild case on toncilitous and my ear drum was perferated when landing back in Birmingham. A new one for me but now I'm essentially left pretty deaf in one ear and wondering when this will go... For those who have been Cancun, what are you realistically looking to spend to get there and is it a pricey place? Also, is it a party atmosphere in the evening with clubs etc or more tame than the usual British hell holes I've been to? Is it where the Yanks go for Spring Break?
The Year Of The Fox Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 You only spent 400 quid? I spent 800 in benidorm in 7 days
lavrentis Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 How did you perforate your ear drum? I tend to find gulping helps with pressure changes
Bayfox Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 You only spent 400 quid? I spent 800 in benidorm in 7 days Holidaying on a budget??? The 1st time me and my mates went dublin 2 off us did 750 each in 5days!!! Then he got back to a 300quid phone bill. Good job we only paid 45 for flights and 12 quid a night for the oliver st.john hostel.
Vardinhio Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 £400 was a reasonable budget out there, all money was spent on alcohol or booze so it left me with just short of 70 euros a day. My motto is if I take it out with me it will probably get spent so I took out what I could afford.

lavrentis Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 Dublin is expensive though I was there for a short while this year and can agree to that, 13 euro for a full irish breakfast. Suffice to say my wallet was grateful when I flew back from there

Vardinhio Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 How did you perforate your ear drum? I tend to find gulping helps with pressure changes apparently it can happen with cabin pressure. It's never happened to me before but it is horrible, I kept expecting it to go but nothing......
Guest Posted 2 September 2013 Posted 2 September 2013 My 5 month Holiday is about to come to an end. Scotland was truly beautiful - loved Edinburgh and the Highlands (I'll be back) really enjoyed the orkney breweries too. Followed the Tour de France a little through the mountains - that was great too but so hot. Only had rain during 1 day and a couple of nights here since the beginning of July!!!! The rain was like rivers in the street though and a nightime electrical storm knocked out the internet for 3 days. Quite a summer. Hope we have a good autumn too.
Tincy Posted 9 September 2013 Posted 9 September 2013 Currently in Tunisia and we hate it. Got here last Sunday tried to get a flight home Tuesday but they haven't got anything. One week left and we can't wait to get home. Blimey! Me and the Mrs come back last month and we enjoyed every second of it, what's the problem??
Soar Fox Posted 9 September 2013 Posted 9 September 2013 Blimey! Me and the Mrs come back last month and we enjoyed every second of it, what's the problem?? Stayed in Sousse in the Tej Marhaba. The room was disgusting, air con was broke and leaked toilet didn't flush. The maids were even nicking our shampoo. All of this was reported but nothing was done until 3 days before coming home when someone came out and looked at the air con. We were half board but the food looked vile so bad in fact that we only ever ate their once. Sousse in general was dirty and smelly I appreciate its a poor country but walking down the streets and seeing nappies on the floor is unacceptable in any country. The majority of the staff were rude but still expected tips. One woman arrived with her 16/17 year old daughter on the Saturday, the porter made them feel so uncomfortable when he took their cases into their room and said something suggestive that they didn't want to stay and managed to get a flight home the next day. I imagine there's some really nice places/hotels in Tunisia but this experience has put me off ever going back.
James. Posted 9 September 2013 Posted 9 September 2013 Sousse in general was dirty and smelly I appreciate its a poor country but walking down the streets and seeing nappies on the floor is unacceptable in any country. I'm guessing you haven't been to many developing countries.
Soar Fox Posted 9 September 2013 Posted 9 September 2013 I'm guessing you haven't been to many developing countries. India, Mauritus, Thailand, were probably on par with Tunisia but we didn't mind as much as these countries were stunning.
VLC86 Posted 9 September 2013 Posted 9 September 2013 I'm guessing you haven't been to Coventry. Edited the above for you
Uncle Albert Posted 9 September 2013 Posted 9 September 2013 Booked Cancun for next Summer, 20 of the family going for my Uncle's 50th. Also looking at Ibiza for next Summer, around the World Cup time. Has anyone ever rented a Villa in Ibiza?
