bovril Posted 15 July 2013 Posted 15 July 2013 Here in sunny Bulgaria . A bit cooler than Greece or Turkey but that's no bad thing.very lively here. Have a nice time. Best beer in Bulgaria is Burgasko Pivo. Try to avoid Zagorka (the Tenants of Bulgaria).

Finnegan Posted 15 July 2013 Posted 15 July 2013 Is a 1 hour 50 layover in Amsterdam enough time? This whole flying lark is proper new to me. Yeah dude, that's an enormous layover, especially given you're within EU. Unless you're in the world's worst airport, anything more than an hour's excessive.
SystonFox Posted 15 July 2013 Posted 15 July 2013 not strictly 2013 but i have booked my honeymoon! Jamaica 2 weeks. 10th feb 2014! oooosssshhhhhhhh

Unless you're in the world's worst airport, anything more than an hour's excessive. Or flying Americn Airlines / going through Miami. Used all of our 2.5 hours layover getting baggage, going through customs and checking our bags back in (AA and maybe other airlines don't do baggage transfers). Made it to onward flight with about 10 minutes to spare. #firstworldproblems #humblebrag
Ozwin Posted 15 July 2013 Author Posted 15 July 2013 Will be stopping in Minneapolis too but that's 3hours and with it all being with the same airline I'm guessing my bags go straight to my final destination. Can't be faffing about with rechecking bags in and stuff.
Samilktray Posted 15 July 2013 Posted 15 July 2013 Not long til I'm in Pula now and I still have no idea if theres much to do in that area of Croatia.
bovril Posted 15 July 2013 Posted 15 July 2013 Not long til I'm in Pula now and I still have no idea if theres much to do in that area of Croatia. Some lovely towns nearby - Rovinj, Labin, Lovran. Porec is quite a popular resort and has a few decent historic monuments if that's your thing. The area is good for food and wine. Also boats to Cres and Rab islands. Both are very beautiful.
lavrentis Posted 15 July 2013 Posted 15 July 2013 Know someone that went Hideout festival and said it was amazing. Tempted to go next year
purpleronnie Posted 15 July 2013 Posted 15 July 2013 are people pissed off about going on hols when the weather is so good?....c'mon be truthful.

21st Century Fox Posted 15 July 2013 Posted 15 July 2013 Changi Airport in Singapore needs a good few hours, it's awesome. You can take a swim in the rooftop swimming pool, take a bus tour outside without a visa, go to the free cinema, get hammered in the reasonably priced sports bars, flirt with the Johnnie Walker Girls while they serve you free Black Label... I did all those things in four hours.
Rincewind Posted 15 July 2013 Posted 15 July 2013 Saw a few people in the City Centre in gowns and r black robes. Was there some kind of Uni ceremony going on?
David Guiza Posted 15 July 2013 Posted 15 July 2013 You have clearly never been to Chicago or Detroit! 3 hours isn't enough. Thanks to a delay me & a mate had 20minutes to make a change at Chicago; luckily we're both 21 and in half decent shape else we'd have really struggled to make it. But that amount of time should be plenty.
lavrentis Posted 16 July 2013 Posted 16 July 2013 Talking of pushing it. When I came back from Athens I had to catch the national express(yeah I know, that's what I get for landing at such a ridiculous time - Noone fancied driving down at that time). At Gatwick, I had an hour after landing to get to the bus. Plane came in 20 minutes late, then customs was a joke. I thought I'd go for the supposed quicker passport scanners, typical they weren't working for anybody and they decided to queue everybody into an even longer queue than the original customs line. Finally through I had around 5 minutes to get my bag and get the bus. Thought I was ****ed.Got my bag and raced through the terminals and caught it with 1 minute to spare I think when you are in situations like that, something takes over

goose2010 Posted 16 July 2013 Posted 16 July 2013 are people pissed off about going on hols when the weather is so good?....c'mon be truthful. I will be honest go to Majorca on Monday and apprently it wont be as warm as it is here bloody typical but being off work for a week will soften the blow
Manwell Pablo Posted 16 July 2013 Posted 16 July 2013 "Holidays 2013" Chicago once it took us two hours to drop our bags and get through security, I had never seen anything it. I went to Copenhagen for a weekend this year and with everything I've got going on that'll probably be it this year :-/
lavrentis Posted 18 July 2013 Posted 18 July 2013 I'm looking at flights for southern europe in december and it's actually cheaper flying with BA than easy jet.
hairy Posted 18 July 2013 Posted 18 July 2013 I'm looking at flights for southern europe in december and it's actually cheaper flying with BA than easy jet. Often the case these days by the time you add those optional extras and credit card fees etc.
Soar Fox Posted 18 July 2013 Posted 18 July 2013 I've never flew with BA what's it like? Biggest airlines I've flown with are Virgin, Emirates and Thai Airways. Preferred Virgin out of the 3.
