It's A Knockeart! Posted 15 January 2013 Share Posted 15 January 2013 I hope he has been banned from the forums for derising our idols. Shame on him!
Bryn Posted 15 January 2013 Share Posted 15 January 2013 Cheeky banner for Boro anyone BRING BACK JOHN BROOKS In all seriousness a show of support for him by our fans would send out a great message and I'm sure he'd appreciate it, regardless of whether or not he is being punished. shiv Posted 15 January 2013 Share Posted 15 January 2013 As you probably spent most of your early 20's tossing off to black and white Porn mags in your Y-fronts dreaming of being the worst Mayor in Leicesters history one day I doubt you'd understand what it's like to go from being relatively unknown, to having every decision you make whilst doing your job scrutinised over night (at such a young age anyway). He's the youngest ever Premier League official and he's now going to have everyone watching him just because he rightly instructed some extremly ignorant over paid footballers to show some apperciation to the fans paying £62 and making a two hour plus trip down to London to watch a televised game. It's a precaution, not a punishment. Not perhaps how everyone, myself included, would go about it but it is not difficult to see where they are coming from. Certainly not comparable to a man who has great idea's like Chirstmas World Cups in Qatar. Pretty much agree with this. It is a punishment in the sense that he's losing out on match fees but his withdrawal from games is by no means disciplinary action. Think the media should stop all the fuss over it so he can get back to his job! In all seriousness a show of support for him by our fans would send out a great message and I'm sure he'd appreciate it, regardless of whether or not he is being punished. He'd appreciate the thought but he genuinely hates all this attention he's getting. Just wants to get on with his job.
StanSP Posted 15 January 2013 Share Posted 15 January 2013 I would have thought, FA train officials to handle confrontations by changing subject. I saw the vid the other day, and my inital tought was, he deflected any discussion regarding Komapany sending off. Otherwise, it seems wierd for the guy to say something like that. As that may be the case (deflecting discussion), I think you're reading too much in to it. Sounds to me that Lescott and Barry (?) said thanks to the officials and John B just simply said you should say thanks to the fans who paid £62 for to come see you play. I'm glad people are commending him and I personally don't see what was weird or wrong about what he said. I hope to see him referee/officiate at the highest level one day cos regardless of the comment he did have a good game.

Guest MattP Posted 15 January 2013 Share Posted 15 January 2013 I can't confirm this at all but a few years ago a guy who worked with the FA told me that referees who get pulled from matches they are already scheduled for still get the fee they would have been paid. DB11 Posted 15 January 2013 Share Posted 15 January 2013 It was barely three years ago I ran the line to him (in his first season at that level) before he was promoted to the Conference. Good referee.

Munshi Posted 15 January 2013 Share Posted 15 January 2013 Watching that on BBC sport made me laugh at how little you have to do to get punished. Think everyone should just play the game without talking or making a sound and at the final whistle walk off in an orderly single file line. Mack Posted 15 January 2013 Share Posted 15 January 2013 I would say never bite the hand that feeds you, but the Assistant Refs are still having to do other Full time jobs. Which is just silly given the amount of Money the Premier League has at it's disposal.
