MattGamble92 Posted 15 January 2013 Posted 15 January 2013 The linesman who has become a bit of a hero over the weekend is from our very own city of Leicester. Mr.John Brooks who has now unbelievably been dropped from officiating his next game, told the Man City players to go over and see their fans who paid the ludicrously priced £62 to see their side win 2-0 at Arsenal. Just thought i'd let everyone know this ledge is from our borders.
foxile5 Posted 15 January 2013 Posted 15 January 2013 And how right the F.A/Ref's association are to have drop. Who is he to remind the superstar footballers that there are regular folk having to fork out extortionate amounts to follow their teams. It's bad enough they have to sign autographs occassionally
Finnegan Posted 15 January 2013 Posted 15 January 2013 He can't have been dropped for that, surely? Did he have a mare?
The Year Of The Fox Posted 15 January 2013 Posted 15 January 2013 He can't have been dropped for that, surely? Did he have a mare? I bet you he has. The people who run our game are tossers. This thread is tje first I've heard of this. What a bloke.
Mack Posted 15 January 2013 Posted 15 January 2013 He crossed the money line. For these Football Associations that's worse than racism.
dynamark Posted 15 January 2013 Posted 15 January 2013 funnyy enough the lad in carphone wharehouse who sold me thjis internet connection on saturday was goingh as a arsenal fan and he mentioned thje £62 ticket,im guessing that was a minimum. cant wait to get to the prem better stop going this year and start saving
shiv Posted 15 January 2013 Posted 15 January 2013 In all seriousness he hasn't been "dropped". He's been withdrawn from his next couple of games to keep him out of the media spotlight as he's still only 22 years old (youngest ever Premier League official). If anyone's to blame it's the media.
shiv Posted 15 January 2013 Posted 15 January 2013 He can't have been dropped for that, surely? Did he have a mare? He had a brilliant game, got every decision spot on.
Jace Posted 15 January 2013 Posted 15 January 2013 Ideal, finally the FA have found a decent linesman for the first time in 20 years, and he will not be selected for Leicester matches because he is from Leicester. Shame Gavin Ward was not local
bmt Posted 15 January 2013 Posted 15 January 2013 Hes a top lad went to school with him. Had a cracking first season in the prem. He is only 22 as well!
Big Dave Posted 15 January 2013 Posted 15 January 2013 He had a brilliant game, got every decision spot on. .....except Vincent Kompanys red card.
bmt Posted 15 January 2013 Posted 15 January 2013 .....except Vincent Kompanys red card. He wasnt the referee!
Guest Bilo Posted 15 January 2013 Posted 15 January 2013 I think C-Man said on another thread he's a Leicester fan who used to post on here.
HEGGSY Posted 15 January 2013 Posted 15 January 2013 I think C-Man said on another thread he's a Leicester fan who used to post on here. Correct. john_lcfc was his username.
Jiggers the Fox Posted 15 January 2013 Posted 15 January 2013 Thought I recognised him at the time, and seeing his name confirmed it! Sure I used to play cricket with him, and very often see him at city away days.
bob gregory Posted 15 January 2013 Posted 15 January 2013 He crossed the money line. For these Football Associations that's worse than racism. Very well said

What a load of drivel. All Premier League match officials should expect to deal with media attention as a matter of course. This punishment will cost him as he's paid a set fee per game. The FA, with decisions like this, are making Sepp Blatter look sane and reasonable..
Manwell Pablo Posted 15 January 2013 Posted 15 January 2013 Correct. john_lcfc was his username. The John_LCFC with blonde hair and the atomic thingy me do avatar? Think I've been a game with him, or at least had a ticket off him, use to see him round loads about six years ago. I suppose I could just go and look at a picture of him sending the the players to the Man City fans really that would probably answer my question. EDIT: Yep **** me thats definitley him

As you probably spent most of your early 20's tossing off to black and white Porn mags in your Y-fronts dreaming of being the worst Mayor in Leicesters history one day I doubt you'd understand what it's like to go from being relatively unknown, to having every decision you make whilst doing your job scrutinised over night (at such a young age anyway). He's the youngest ever Premier League official and he's now going to have everyone watching him just because he rightly instructed some extremly ignorant over paid footballers to show some apperciation to the fans paying £62 and making a two hour plus trip down to London to watch a televised game. It's a precaution, not a punishment. Not perhaps how everyone, myself included, would go about it but it is not difficult to see where they are coming from. Certainly not comparable to a man who has great idea's like Chirstmas World Cups in Qatar.
adamkhalifa Posted 15 January 2013 Posted 15 January 2013 I would have thought, FA train officials to handle confrontations by changing subject. I saw the vid the other day, and my inital tought was, he deflected any discussion regarding Komapany sending off. Otherwise, it seems wierd for the guy to say something like that.
purpleronnie Posted 15 January 2013 Posted 15 January 2013 I hope the players wouldn't need reminding but you sometimes wonder if they do. Does anyone watch the bundesliga highlights?, it always shows you the players after the game going up to the fans, leading chants, even walking round the whole stadium applauding and shaking fans hands....I wonder if they are made to do it by their club?
1964FOX Posted 15 January 2013 Posted 15 January 2013 Cheeky banner for Boro anyone BRING BACK JOHN BROOKS
