Rustyfox Posted 23 January 2013 Posted 23 January 2013 The attitude the club are displaying is based on the fact that you can give fans poor service and they will still come back for more. This
davieG Posted 23 January 2013 Author Posted 23 January 2013 Pie and a pint offer valid for Wolves game (oh and you can get a ticket for £15 as well, but any season ticket holder could have got you that) http://www.lcfc.com/...ers-614163.aspx At least it's something! Wonder how many fans who went and were refused the offer or didn't get there tore up and threw away their ticket in anger and disgust?
Babylon Posted 23 January 2013 Posted 23 January 2013 Wonder how many fans who went and were refused the offer or didn't get there tore up and threw away their ticket in anger and disgust? Quite a few probably, but as it's as good as a receipt I think that might have been rather a bad idea.

That's all they needed to do. Why they didn't just come out with this in the first place I don't know. Whoever is in charge of PR at the club needs to get a grip. A token gesture costs a few quid while also creating goodwill, pissing off thousands of fans will cost you more in the long run and make you look like cvnts. It really should have been obvious to the person who gets paid to know shit like this that an upfront goodwill gesture was the way to go.

Fvck the pie and pint I want my ticket money refunding and nothing less.
Babylon Posted 23 January 2013 Posted 23 January 2013 Fvck the pie and pint I want my ticket money refunding and nothing less. Good luck with that one, I didn't expect them ever to do that. The pie and pint thing was the obvious thing to do, if not the most generous.
coolhandfox Posted 23 January 2013 Posted 23 January 2013 Just for the record Larry, Ticket sales don't make up a huge proportion of our income. It's actually a very small proportion, And whilst we are in the Championship the club would struggle without us. In the Premier League they'd manage it no problem. I think you'll find it was about 45%-50% of the clubs income, so a good proportion, add to that sales of merchandise which is another 10%, fans are an important source of income for the club.
Mack Posted 23 January 2013 Posted 23 January 2013 Pie and a pint offer valid for Wolves game (oh and you can get a ticket for £15 as well, but any season ticket holder could have got you that) http://www.lcfc.com/...ers-614163.aspx At least it's something! So for those who went for this promotion a ticket for one game will now have cost them £35. More than a standard ticket would have cost in some parts of the ground. The club should transfer the tickets for free or a nominal amount of no more than £5 for me. I can imagine many fans who went for this deal are feeling very let down.

Perhaps very small was the wrong term to use, and I did say we would struggle in this league without any ticket sales. Although you have no source so you could of easily of just made that up. , and I've seen some stuff recently that suggests otherwise. In the Premier League it's more than possible although you'd be at a disadvantage. All besides the point anyway, no ones going to stop going are they.

And that's better than the nothing it looked like people might get. The £15 offer is not the best considering every man and his dog can get them for £15 through a season ticket holder already. Unfortunately smacks of trying to get people pumping our more money on tickets, than it does a "we understand, he's a little something".

I have downloaded the accounts previously from companies house, and I'm pretty sure it's correct that money from tickets (season, individual, corporate, boxes etc) is our greatest form of income.

Only had a quick look at the last few years accounts, in the PL it becomes a lot less or if you are receiving PL parachute payment which we are not. I'm sure the owner don’t see a figure of around 5.2 million (Match day Receipts 2010/11) as small change....

Storming Posted 23 January 2013 Posted 23 January 2013 Imo for what its worth LCFC were in a lose lose sittuation had they called off the game at Short notice they would have had 8,000 unhappy fans who had got there .I got there and was told by 2 police oficers that the game had been called off but I had not heard this on the radio. We could have got back in the car and made our way home but decided to go to the pub as arranged .We then found out these Cops were telling others the same I wonder how many fans turned and went home ? Onwards and upwards LCFC

Onwards and upwards LCFC I don't think anyone expected them to call it off at late notice, that decision should have been made long before people had started out / got there.
Manwell Pablo Posted 23 January 2013 Posted 23 January 2013 I don't think anyone expected them to call it off at late notice, that decision should have been made long before people had started out / got there. The roads did deteriate very quickly Babs, I didn't think the roads were going to be as bad as they were. I can't really fault them for playing it, it's a damned if you do damned if you don't I situation. Had it been called off there would be plenty on here moaning the pitch was playable, and I think in our position we can most certainly do without the fixture congestion if it can be avoided especially with our ongoing involvment in the FA cup.
Babylon Posted 23 January 2013 Posted 23 January 2013 The roads did deteriate very quickly Babs, I didn't think the roads were going to be as bad as they were. I dunno, my Mrs left town at 2.00pm and she was stuck in traffic for a long time. My mate who I go with took two hours to get from Blaby to Wigston at about 3pm. And I think we all know what my journey was like I can only think they presumed the roads would get better rather than worse. The saving grace is we won and we don't have the fixture pile up as you say. I think I'd have more respect if they said Pearson wanted it to go ahead for that very reason. I appreciate they would never do that though.

Storming Posted 23 January 2013 Posted 23 January 2013 Lets face it Friday afternoon is busy enough without any snow .We are victims of our own success we now have a Thurs match another Friday Match a late kick of v Derby whatever happened to Sat afternoon football ?
Babylon Posted 23 January 2013 Posted 23 January 2013 Sat afternoon football ? Went missing sometime in 1992.
RyanLCFC18 Posted 23 January 2013 Posted 23 January 2013 Whoever wants a full refund grow up...its not the clubs fault you didnt make it, its yours. 8000 other fans made it, i did coming from near stoke, roads wernt as bad as everyone are making out...move on theyv done something to try to make fans abit happier which they didnt have to do, everyone now needa to stop moaning and look forward to Huddlesfield
Babylon Posted 23 January 2013 Posted 23 January 2013 Whoever wants a full refund grow up It's called customer service. You know, the sort of service that meant the Vue gave refunds to anyone who missed a showing on Friday because of the snow. That wasn't their fault either, but they did it because it buys good will and a willingness to return from the customer. Its not the clubs fault you didnt make it, its yours. It's the clubs fault it didn't get called off when it became clear the vast MAJORITY of fans could not make it. If they don't give a shit about the fans actually being there then that's their choice. Other clubs have called games off when fans could not make it before due to weather. This was their choice. I did coming from near stoke, roads wernt as bad as everyone are making out Have you actually bothered to read the thread without weighing in with your utter drivel? If the roads weren't that bad, tell me why the whole city was at a stand still for over 4 hours. Have you even considered, that you coming from outside of the city, and not actually having to travel through it might have contributed in you having a different journey to others. Are you that short sited you actually think because you made it everyone else should? everyone now needa to stop moaning People who want to move on should stop looking in this ****ing thread and moaning about people not moving on.
Babylon Posted 23 January 2013 Posted 23 January 2013 What is moaning achieving? How do you know it's not achieving anything? For all you know the pint and pie reinstatement for Wolves was a direct action to what people had been saying to them. If people think something is wrong, should they just shut up and not say anything because there is potential it might not alter the outcome? If there are 12,000 annoyed people out there and they have let the club know, they might deal with things differently next time.

You could tell from his first post in this thread thats hes nothing more than a selfish little child. No doubt mummy and daddy pay for his match tickets so losing money wouldnt matter anyway.
