anstey9 Posted 22 January 2013 Posted 22 January 2013 TBf the king power people saved the club when it was in big trouble.they didnt do it because they love leicester, its supporters,or for the love of football, they did it for the huge profits they will make if we make the premier league. If we do ticket prices will go sky high they will fleece fans for eveything they can get out of them .If we dont at some point they will dissapear and leicester will do a portsmouth and end up in th blue square north.i suppose it depends on how deep your pockets are ,what other committments you have, and how mad on football you are as to which you prefer.FRIDAY NIGHT WAS ALL ABOUT CASH,,, NOT FOOTBALL,SUPPORTERS,SAFETY,LOYALTY ,IT WAS A BUSINESS DECESION MADE BY BUSINESS PEOPLE.

Ageed but it's not good business to bite the hand that feeds you is it ?
cambridgefox Posted 22 January 2013 Posted 22 January 2013 Thank fvck we didn't lose judging by our reactions.
broughtonblue Posted 22 January 2013 Posted 22 January 2013 Just wondering if it had been on sky at 5:20 on a Saturday in the same conditions, what the attendance would have been?
anstey9 Posted 22 January 2013 Posted 22 January 2013 Ageed but it's not good business to bite the hand that feeds you is it ? losing 2 or 3 thousand off the gate for the next 2 or 3 games w on t worry them its peanuts in the grand scheme of things .There is no loyalty in football as long as we keep winning all will be forgiven. If we had lost on friday the posts on here would be totally different.Personally i hope we dont get promotion think the ticket prices are to0 high already .There are new financial laws coming into play hopefully this will improve things but at the moment the whole of the premier/championship is taking the piss out of its fans.Getting to the premier league will probably make the game unaffordable for alot of famillies.
Babylon Posted 22 January 2013 Posted 22 January 2013 Just wondering if it had been on sky at 5:20 on a Saturday in the same conditions, what the attendance would have been? Massively different. No school runners on the road, no rush hour traffic, people leaving straight from home, people able to leave out early instead of waiting to finish work etc. Might have been down a few who decided it wasn't safe to venture out, but I would say the vast majority would have been there. As they have been in the past during bad weather.
Head Honcho Posted 22 January 2013 Posted 22 January 2013 This might have already been mentioned but had this match not been on Sky the it would not have gone ahead. Well done to the club for the extra effort and 3 points was the reward but a little appreciation to fans with tickets would have been a nice touch.
Bloomfielder Posted 22 January 2013 Posted 22 January 2013 Has anyone considered that perhaps people were worried about getting home rather than getting there?. I live 60 miles away and could have got there by train and walking BUT it was a night game so I may well have missed the last train back to Birmingham due to slower walking in the snow. That train if I get it then leaves me 10 miles from home and buses were being taken off routes. I remember struggling home from a Saturday game (in Brighton?) before where I had to walk several miles in the snow to get home and did not fancy it again. Normal home evening games leave me 10 miles from home but luckily I can get a lift. I object to people on here having a go at people for not bothering when they have no idea of circumstances, just because some have it easy others do not. I despair of our fans sometimes and see no reason why people expect a ticket refund though perhaps honouring the pie and pint voucher would be a nice gesture (I did not buy one so I am not asking for that to benefit me, I'm a ST holder.)
Corky Posted 22 January 2013 Posted 22 January 2013 There was a Foxes fan who rang in on Talk Sport last night and stated the club are refunding fans who couldn't get to the game. I am guessing this is untrue? It must be. The game went ahead, I'm sure the only way refunds could be given was the match being called off.
Bettsj2 Posted 22 January 2013 Posted 22 January 2013 Some good debate on here. I would disagree that the game was all about money and nothing to do with football. In fact, looking at it, I think it may have been the other way around. It must be. The game went ahead, I'm sure the only way refunds could be given was the match being called off. Usual rule is you can get a refund up to 24 hours before kick off.
Bayfox Posted 22 January 2013 Posted 22 January 2013 Ageed but it's not good business to bite the hand that feeds you is it ? they didn't they appeased SKY. That's the hand they want to feed, them, remember we have only ever lost one game at the Walkers, were do you think sky will look in adverse weather for a game that WILL be on.
Mack Posted 22 January 2013 Posted 22 January 2013 It must be. The game went ahead, I'm sure the only way refunds could be given was the match being called off. The bloke who phoned in was also gushing about a family of 4 ticket at Cardiff for £40. The club should allow all those who couldn't get there to transfer the ticket to another home game for free end of. OK maybe not the pie as they would have been ordered for the night, but the ticket for sure, it's not like we don't have the room.
Rustyfox Posted 22 January 2013 Posted 22 January 2013 just had a ridiculous conversation with the hospitality dept at the club about how irrelevant the fans are in the running of the club. ...basically, i had 2 tix for Fusions restaurant & couldnt make it therefore losing £130. we emailed to complain but never had a response, so ive just followed this up with a call to same person i spoke with on Friday to see why they arent doing more for fans or have a contingency in place to for something like this etc. transfer to another game for example. I won't bore you with you with everything but, when i said the the football club is basically customer/fans centric & we are the soul of the club, he proceeded to tell me that the money fans spend wouldnt keep the club going, the fans are just customers paying for a service & that without our owners LCFC wouldnt exist! he even compared Friday to going to the cinema & not getting a refund... firstly i explained that i probably would be refunded as i called up in advance & secondly i dont spend thousands of pounds just to go to my favourite cinema. im an eternal optimist when it comes to LCFC but the response/treatment from the people ive spoke to at the club since friday has been a joke.

It won't the rate they overspend no, but that's their choice. I've got to say, I'm shocked that they had that attitude with people on the corporate/hospitality side of things.
Rustyfox Posted 22 January 2013 Posted 22 January 2013 i genuinely couldnt beleive what i was hearing. even it thats what he thinks he shouldnt be saying that to a paying fan. he had a serious customer service problem but kept calling me 'mate' which he thought made it ok

I've complained down there a couple of times when the sound went off for about 30 seconds. Another one the subtitles started about a minute late and they have always handed out complimentary passes without even questioning it. They didn't have to, but that's what people do to keep paying customers happy. I could understand their stance if it were just 100 or so people. But not 12,000+ people!!! I could even understand it if we had full houses every week, but we have another game coming up on tv where we will struggle to have 20,000 there... that's 12,000 spare seats!

So there you have it!
Rustyfox Posted 22 January 2013 Posted 22 January 2013 i'll save that one for my next conversation with said member of hospitality!
Manwell Pablo Posted 22 January 2013 Posted 22 January 2013 Is this still Fvcking going on. Yes they should give you a refund, ar at least some sort of compo, but they wont. As a result you could take your business to another football club, but you wont. Pretty much all there is to it.
Guest MattP Posted 22 January 2013 Posted 22 January 2013 I won't bore you with you with everything but, when i said the the football club is basically customer/fans centric & we are the soul of the club, he proceeded to tell me that the money fans spend wouldnt keep the club going, the fans are just customers paying for a service & that without our owners LCFC wouldnt exist! Amazing how we managed to exist for 100+ years without fancy foreign owners. It's quite staggering how accepting a lot of people seem to be these days of people coming into a football club, running up debts that would worry most sensible businessmen and then basically turning around and saying 'well if you don't like it we'll fcuk off and you're all screwed'. and supporters seem to want and chase this, unbelievable.
Babylon Posted 22 January 2013 Posted 22 January 2013 As a result you could take your business to another football club, but you wont. I am... just calling forest now to see if I can become a member.
Manwell Pablo Posted 22 January 2013 Posted 22 January 2013 I am... just calling forest now to see if I can become a member. I can offer you a season ticket to watch my team if you want, I can guarantee it is cheaper, and also that games will definitley be off if it ever snows (or rains, or indeed there is a light ground frost)
cambridgefox Posted 22 January 2013 Posted 22 January 2013 I am... just calling forest now to see if I can become a member. Aahhh something good to come out of this after all!!!
Babylon Posted 22 January 2013 Posted 22 January 2013 Aahhh something good to come out of this after all!!! Bad news they said I'm not a big enough c***, and don't focus on the past enough to be a forest fan.
cambridgefox Posted 22 January 2013 Posted 22 January 2013 Bad news they said I'm not a big enough c***, and don't focus on the past enough to be a forest fan. i could qualify then!
