Yeah, it felt that way at one point. Bloke said to me after the 3rd hole- I’m trying to work out your flaw. You’re good off the tee, you drained a par putt down hill from 10 foot, and then hit a flop shot over the 3rd green side bunker and got up and down for par 😂😂

The truth is- fairway mats. I’m class off them 😂

Anyone know any decent courses for a winter p**s up with some mates? Need somewhere that holds up to shite weather as it'll be Feb.

There's only really Kilworth Springs in Lecistershire that fits that bill, as its built in an old quary. Everywhere else is on clay and so suffers big style in our ever wetter winters.

Not sure if Longcliffe’s on clay, but you won’t have found many courses open in the county yesterday I don’t think, and that was. Though as it is now, it will still be fairway mats unsure the staked areas in Feb

Cosby was open and hasn't been closed at all yet this winter not sure it can take much more of the wet stuff mind. We're also on fairway mats and winter tees and it's carry only.

I know a couple of lads there who are members. They rate it highly

I joined almost 10 years ago,  and the club has seen steady improvements since both on and off the course.  Always love playing Longcliffe to,  goods greens with some subtle slopes,  arguably the best track in Leicestershire.

Played today round Sinfin in Derby and had a great game. Not a single bad tee shot. Every wood pinged straight down the fairway or only just in the first cut of rough. Must have been 10+ FIR. Unbelievable Jeff.

5 pars but unfortunately no birdies though I came very close a couple of times. Went round in 88 which is pretty good for me playing off 18 currently.

Nice one

Thats a weird course location isnt it.

If it wasn’t for the fact my golf clubs would be with me going around the course, I wouldn’t feel comfortable at all leaving them in the car park 😂

Having worked at Rolls for many years in that neighbourhood I can confirm you'd be wise to not even leave a pound for your shopping trolley in your car!

There's a really small car park wide open right next to the council estate before the entrance which is always dodgy, but if you use the main one round the side of the club it's fine. Yeah it's open to anyone to walk in but most courses are tbf.

I've been to a few places that are hidden behind housing estates and they are all fine and never had a problem.

Had 3x iron fittings over the last 10 days.

First was immediately after a full round of golf and I was flushing everything on the launch monitor. Pro suggested I went away and booked the range session for when I’m feeling fresher which was a good idea

Second fitting on the range was prior to me going out and playing golf. However it was on the back of 2 rounds in 2 days and I felt as knackered as before. What the pro saw that day put him right back to square 1 with me and what he had in mind

He suggested I came back today after not playing for a few days now.

The spec we’ve agreed on has tightened my dispersion somewhat- my bad shot is a floaty right one. Happily, I even hit one in front of him with my current 7 iron. I told him I thought I’d come over the top of it but he completely disagreed- it’s the club.

Was good to have that feedback from the pro as that shot can be prevalent

Gone for the P790s, regular shaft, 95g weight, 2 degrees stronger loft

Roll on 14th Jan

Doing a gold trip abroad in September

How many think a travel case with the hard plastic top to protect the club heads and necks is a necessity in comparison to a soft case that has one of those extendable poles to protect the driver head?

https://amzn.eu/d/e01CPHZ

I’m looking at this one, but the soft case is virtually half price.

Cheers
