How about YouTube legend Brad Dalke at the DPWorld tour BMW International this week!

Dude is joint second after 2 rounds and only one off the lead.

Always seems like a top bloke and on his day he's a hell of a player. Hope he keeps it going :fc:

I broke 100! Scraped a 99, needed a birdie on the last hole at Whetstone and only went and did it! I realise its not a major achievement for some but im buzzing :D

Congrats. Always a great milestone to hit.

It is a major achievement for any golfer so well done!

keep targeting the milestones and you’ll get into low 90s in no time. I still have my scorecard from my first round of golf (144…), first sub-100 and sub-90 in my bag.

How is it that much financial difficulty with all those facilities?

I used to be a member back in the day, they got rid of their 800 odd members to try and turn it corporate where you'd have less members but they are paying obscene money. To do that they basically bolted on the gym and the range cost into the membership, thus making the cost pretty unworkable for most people. This is only hearsay, no facts.

That theory of course works when you have the course to go with it, but when you don't it ends like this. It has always been a one step forward, two back kind of deal course wise.

The range is the biggest income driver, the course just isn't up to scratch unfortunately. Always had the potential, but never progressed. Can't envisage many people using the gym, the simulator probably does well. Lots of income sources but think they lost sight of the fact they are primarily a golf course, where the golf course needs to be your priority, not the add ons..

Looking forward to The Open in a couple of weeks. Tickets for the Sunday and my first ever live golf event despite watching a lot on tv over the years.

WC final on the same night so has the makings of an excellent trip.

Have some betting money after having Gotterup for the John Deere yesterday.

Nice one!

I remember when I did it for the first time. I wasn't the one keeping score and so had no idea that it was on and then finished on 96 which was 5 shots off my best. Person who I was playing with had known it was on for a few holes and didn't dare say anything :D

Think it's still my best round as so often can only fit 9 holes in which is heart breaking when you're on for a good score. Hit 43 on the front 9 not long ago and bad light stopped play.... devastated!

You could do what my father-in-law did...

He just doubled his front 9 score and called that his best ever 18 holes. Couldn't get his head round why I was having none of it.

Boom 86 - happy days!

Someone suggested going to play the back 9 the next day but that doesn't count either in my mind. 18 holes continuous or nothing.

Nothing against Scottie, but good to see he's human.

Mcilroy just fatted a tee shot about 140 yards on a 170 par 3!

amazing

And then chunked it 10 yards in the rough the following hole.

Disasterous day for Rory but also for the whole tournament. Huge crowds today who only saw a few hours of play and the organisers, sponsors, and US TV networks will be all be pissed off.

The joys of links golf. One day it's glorious, the next you're in thick fog and can't see in front of your nose.

They do get sea fog at pebble beach !

Maybe Scottie saw the forecast and thought ‘F that’ !

Any recommendations for decent short game practice facilities in/near Leics? Need to sharpen up around the greens but I can’t really think of anywhere (other than the Belfry).

I should never ever post about someone doing well in golf lol

Great round though for Brooke Henderson today to get into a playoff. Too bad she didn't win it, but it's been a pretty rough drought for her. Happy to see her in contention again.

Sunday 19th 2026 could go down in history as the greatest sporting day ever.

Tommy Fleetwood walks up the 18th at Birkdale to a homecoming hero's ovation as he wins the Open.

Then England beat France in the WC final to bring it home.

Just imagine.....
