MattyFromLE Posted 19 February 2013 Share Posted 19 February 2013 Me and my dad won two season tickets at the start of the 95/96 season. My first real memory of a live football match was Stevie Claridges shinned injury time winner. I was lucky enough to see the O'Neill era, and unfortunate to see the last 10 years or so. One thing I always thought we were good at, is on groundhog day; we stand by the team, and support em. Tonight, I turned up in my usual seat with my brother and dad and **** me. Silence. Every misplaced pass, or squandered chance was shortly followed by a "URGHHHHH". What a horrible, horrible noise. Our corner was fairly empty, but most regulars present, except from the row in front. A guy, with his two kids were sat there. All game, the guy was effing and blinding when we gave the ball away. One minute De Laet's crap, next minute Knockaert is a genius, until he gave the ball away, and he was labelled "a useless poncy frog". Then I snapped. Just after their second, when Kasper launched the ball up field, he shouted "oh that's ****ing useless", I replied "how is that useless?", moment later Wood brings the ball down and we have a decent chance. He turns round, tell me to shut the **** up, and how dare I question him. This was then followed by "why should I sit and cheer this shower of shit?" etc etc, more verbal diarrhea. I asked him "why don't you actually get behind em, i dunno, sing a song, say something constructive?" his reply was "what's singing a song going to do? aren't you still at school?" changing the conversation onto my age. "Obviously" i replied. By which he goes; "Look at you in your 1945 shirt, ****" - Wearing my Ind Coupe shirt, I replied with "do you not even know what era this shirt is from?", "no, i dunno 1945, ****" - I correct him and he follows by more swearing and mumbling. I then out loud exclaimed that I couldn't believe that we support the same team, by which he says "well I don't even support them, I don't know why I waste my money!" - why are you even here I add? "i don't know, but they're shit, I may as well support Charlton." Few moments pass and I tell him that he is the epitome of what is wrong with our fans. I'll follow my team through thick and ****ing thin, when we're shit and when we're good, whether its snowing or blistering sunshine. I am absolutely furious that a fellow Leicester fan would be so hostile, and would be so argumentative at the even suggestion that he did something positive and support the team we are meant to be cheering on. Get a ****ing grip people. We're 5th, with two games in hand. Not bottom, doomed by sodding relegation to the Blue Square Bet.

Harry - LCFC Posted 19 February 2013 Share Posted 19 February 2013 It wasn't even that bad tonight, we didn't deserve to lose. It's ridiculous how people can hammer the team for a mediocre performance. It wasn't good tonight but it wasn't appalling enough for fans to boo. NorthernFox Posted 19 February 2013 Share Posted 19 February 2013 Good post kid. I'm sitting near Gateshead with the hump on after listening to the game knowing Youngy wants to strangle Stringer with his negative vibe. Play Offs it maybe but Leicester Till I Die. acooling08 Posted 19 February 2013 Share Posted 19 February 2013 There are cvnts like that all around the ground, fair play for saying something. I lost my rag a bit today too. There's this guy behind me saying 'Wood has the turning speed of the titanic', 'his foot is made of rubber', then he scored a minute later and I turned around and said 'Useless isn't he?'. He just glared at me. Tbf we've all said stupid things that we don't mean at football when we are frustrated (I myself couldn't help but curse Knockaert today when he lost the ball yet again and I felt sheepish right after). It's just because we love LCFC so fvcking much.
SystonFox Posted 19 February 2013 Share Posted 19 February 2013 Try not to worry about this moron who sits near you. Aslong as you know you support the team to the best of your supporting ability. As long as you have gone and done your best at the end of 90 mins, whether its by singing, clapping, dancing, doing a Mexicano wave or by doing a nice drawing of Anthony Knockaert then it doesn't matter much does it? Chin up lad come back strongerer next time

chili_con_carne Posted 19 February 2013 Share Posted 19 February 2013 We have some of the worst supporters going for some reason. When we first moved into the walkers stadium for a good few years there was very little negativity. It seems ever since we got promoted from league 1 our fans seem to expect too much from us. RonnieTodger Posted 19 February 2013 Share Posted 19 February 2013 Unbelievable moron behind me. Screaming at everything, even the rare well-worked moments from us. He'd go mad at the ref when he was right not to give a penalty. I hate games when we're behind to "lesser" teams. Not because it's embarrassing, but because the inner-twat of a lot of our fans really does shine through when we're in a bit of a pickle.

Libertine Dream Posted 19 February 2013 Share Posted 19 February 2013 I ****ing hate our supporters, constant moaning, shouting things like 'you're a **** Marshall' and the lack of actual support. Atmosphere is getting worse but at one point I thought we were getting behind them, soon fizzled out. How can the players show a fight, desire and passion when you struggle to get it in the stands now. Backs against the wall should bring out your fight response, never say die attitude has deserted us

Flyfox Posted 19 February 2013 Share Posted 19 February 2013 I'm slightly consoled by the fact that Arsenal were booed off by their own fans tonight....Premiership, Champions League and STILL not happy supporters....
Voll Blau Posted 19 February 2013 Share Posted 19 February 2013 The boo boys really are complete cretins and fair play to this young lad for telling one so. I read a 4-4-2 survey of pro footballers and I think it was something like 92% of them who said the atmosphere affected their performance. If that's not proof of the power fans have within the game I don't know what is. That said, we can all sit and blame there morons as much as we want but if we're not singing our hearts to to combat them then we are also part of the problem. GingerrrFox Posted 19 February 2013 Share Posted 19 February 2013 To be fair our fans in the majority were a driving factor in getting the equaliser. I thought we backed the boys all the way until we allowed Kermogant free headers which lead to their 2nd goal.
