ruisliptiger Posted 20 November 2013 Posted 20 November 2013 As a student in hull, it's really not that bad. The city centre is just as nice as Leicesters (it has also just been renovated in the past few years) and yes on the outskirts it's crap, but aren't most cities like that? I'm gutted that Leicester didn't win, but it is certainly not as crap as you're making it out to be. I shant believe you until you give me an in depth description of the inside of spiders and what the luminous green drink they sell is called.
ruisliptiger Posted 20 November 2013 Posted 20 November 2013 The area around the KC is a shithole. However there are some wonderful parts as well. I suppose it's a lack of information that allows people to develop certain prejudices. For instance think London and you automatically think of the nice bit in the middle. However if I dropped you off in Hounslow or Bow and told you to walk to Westminster you'd soon find it's not all Milk and Honey. In Hull the deprived bits are prominently on display when entering the place. You have to spend some time there to discover the best bit.
Webbo Posted 20 November 2013 Posted 20 November 2013 You have to spend some time there to discover the best bit. If it's all the same to you I'll just take your word for it.
kingfox Posted 20 November 2013 Posted 20 November 2013 Er, why? Soulsby did it all, and he is a cvnt.
ruisliptiger Posted 20 November 2013 Posted 20 November 2013 If it's all the same to you I'll just take your word for it. So we both agree that Hull is dead good then like. Splendid.
Voll Blau Posted 20 November 2013 Posted 20 November 2013 Soulsby did it all, and he is a cvnt. Oh OK.
ruisliptiger Posted 20 November 2013 Posted 20 November 2013 Shouldn't it be Hull: Tigers of Culture?
Fox in the North Posted 21 November 2013 Posted 21 November 2013 I shant believe you until you give me an in depth description of the inside of spiders and what the luminous green drink they sell is called. Spiders..... some of the best and worst Saturday nights ive ever had. In depth description? The metal spider bars? The ridiculous cocktail pints? Isn't it something called the green monster? I've never gone to spiders sober
Matt Posted 4 December 2013 Posted 4 December 2013 Erm I thought it was December, not the 1st of April but... http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/news/coventry-news/coventry-could-make-double-bid-6368703 :crylaugh: What has Coventry got? This has nothing to do with football rivalry either, it is purely my opinion of the City, Coventry has nothing! Absloutely nothing! They havn't recovered from the war, I suppose in that case some might call it 'historic' I would just call it a tip, it isn't tastefully historic, it's just never been rebuilt, revamped, modernised, it really is an awful City.
Rincewind Posted 4 December 2013 Posted 4 December 2013 We lost because our bid never involved grassroots culture, Our bid or should I say Peter Soulsby's was built around places like the curve where only a select few can afford to go. What happened to projects that served all communities. Playgrounds were closed when they should have been developed for the future of children.

"Select few" of course meaning the 99.99% of people who don't live on the street. The Curve is probably the cheapest theatre I've ever seen. JSA claimants would be able to afford a weekly ticket to something.
lavrentis Posted 4 December 2013 Posted 4 December 2013 I noticed that theres some houses on Western Road that are occupied and look like they are literally falling to bits. The paint is peeling away as well, makes me wonder if its actually a health hazard.
