chavdonk Posted 3 March 2013 Posted 3 March 2013 Knockaert and Marshall are playmakers, however NP only seems to let Knockaert have any freedom on the pitch, either that or he just does it anyway whilst Marshall has been told to be a defensive winger, why NP has told him that i will never know a defensive winger is surely a full back or am I missing something?
Grewks Posted 3 March 2013 Posted 3 March 2013 If we had a player of the N'Daw type (not him because he is w**k). Players like marshall would be given more freedom, rather than a large defensive responsibility which he referred to after the blackburn game
chris_lcfc_85 Posted 3 March 2013 Posted 3 March 2013 I don't believe we need this sort of player, we,re not conceding many goals so pointless. Matt james can do that role but he is injured so be patient. This old physical presence centre mid is getting boring now, not every side has one
TJB-fox Posted 3 March 2013 Author Posted 3 March 2013 Good post. I would take sako from Wolves always looks a threat. Agree with this completely, must be out of favour too if hes been allowed to join wolves on loan.
TJB-fox Posted 3 March 2013 Author Posted 3 March 2013 No thanks. If youd bothered to read on i stated that we couldve picked up players that were good on the ball, such as meyler or trotter, moron.

Corky Posted 3 March 2013 Posted 3 March 2013 He's the sort of player this forum would moan about because of his lack of ability on the ball if he joined us.
chris_lcfc_85 Posted 3 March 2013 Posted 3 March 2013 He's the sort of player this forum would moan about because of his lack of ability on the ball if he joined us. I'd support him if he came and Hopefully he'd do well but we don't need him, defensively we are the best
TJB-fox Posted 3 March 2013 Author Posted 3 March 2013 All the guys saying they wouldnt want n'Daw, im not suggesting him but im suggesting we should get a more technical version of him, to suit our style of play
Libertine Dream Posted 3 March 2013 Posted 3 March 2013 But our failure is we can't score away from home, we've conceded the least away from home so I wouldn't consider it a priority. We need a true playmaker/attacking midfielder. Marshall could play there but somebody like Powell might be ideal
Number 6 Posted 3 March 2013 Posted 3 March 2013 We've got a Hoolahan type and we play him right midfield. Fair point. Don't think knocks is quite at that level yet though.
Bert Posted 4 March 2013 Posted 4 March 2013 He was big and clumsy, physical and got In our players faces. On the wrong day he's a walking time bomb, gives away too many fouls. Didn't see him make any telling contribution to their play. Certainly a player you need when you're in Ipswich's current position but not one that a promotion chasing team should be looking at. We have got ourselves in a great league position without a so called midfield enforcer, largely through playing to our strengths and one that N'Daw wouldn't really fit into.
Lambert09 Posted 4 March 2013 Posted 4 March 2013 I'm pretty sure Danny drinkwaters main presence in the team is to break down opposing attacks and start ours. If he has a bad game we do IMO
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 4 March 2013 Posted 4 March 2013 Said similar after the Millwall defeat... http://www.theposthorngallop.blogspot.co.uk/2012/12/run-of-mill-jamie-barnard-on-how-defeat.html
dpjfox Posted 4 March 2013 Posted 4 March 2013 I agree JB not necessarily to play every game but certainly games where we could/or have been bullied in that area
pazzerfox Posted 4 March 2013 Posted 4 March 2013 'Give them possession and they are supreme, give them altercation and they are subdued. It is in times like these that Pearson needs that extra midfield dimension'.
birdwith2beaksandnofriends Posted 4 March 2013 Posted 4 March 2013 'Give them possession and they are supreme, give them altercation and they are subdued. It is in times like these that Pearson needs that extra midfield dimension'. That's pretty good.
